hey guys, I have a name suggestion. Lets call it Poor Man's Revenge because there are no $80 Luxrays or $100 Uxie Xs in the deck. Just $15 Gengars!

$15???? Where are you getting Gengar Primes for that price? I'll get another 20 if that's the case. These cards will be $50+ dollars after states. (Good thing I have 24 already.....)

itt pokemaster1970 is swarthy surgeon capitalist

Admitted. But, if you based the entire deck around him with a sort of just-in-case support engine, I feel it at least has a chance.

I got as many as I could when triumphant came out. People weren't too interested in the card since Lost World didn't come with the set, so G-Prime took a back seat. But I had a feeling something would have to give since they're so popular in Japan. Hope my bet pays off........

hmm.... Middle Class Man's Revenge? :)

No such thing as Middle Class. It is a worn out term that has lost it's meaning. It's only used as a control mechanic to assuage 98% of the population of the U.S. The proper term is the Working Poor.

I just don't see the deck working. Once they set up a main attacker and start one shotting Gengars there really isnt much that the gengar player can do.

i just did around 5 hours of testing(no homework ) and lost gar freakin sucks. it can come close but towards mid game its easy for any deck cept sablock which has already won

I think LostGar is good, but not BDIF material. IMO it is a good match-up vs. every deck except Sablelock, which can easily donk or just KO early. I play Sablelock, and I notice that in a normal game really the only Pokemon you will have around in your hand will be Sableyes.

Plus, there are a lot of ways around Gengar Prime. Any hand shuffling works, and if you play Junk Arm you can get rid of Pokemon you don't need. I also thing Honchkrow SV could get more popular if LostGar gets big, as in an SP deck you can easily OHKO Gengar Prime.

The winning strategy:

1.) Get a Gengar Prime with at least one (or more) psychic energy into the active position
2.) Use Hurl Into Darkness over and over and over again until 6 pokemon are in lost zone
2a.)If no pokemon are in opponents hand, play Seeker or Spiritomb TM on the following turn
3.) Play Lost World stadium
3a.) If under Stadium lock, use one of the 1298449806 options you have available to you so opponent doesn't put you under stadium lock the following turn.
4.) Declare yourself the winner (literally )

Just make it consistent and BAM, tier 1 deck :psychic:

To beat gengar you're gonna have to counter steps 1-4. I've already provided some quick solutions the gengar player has for people who counter steps 2-3, potentially the most crucial in the process.

There are no ways to counter step 4 if step 3 is met, lol.

Thus, it seems like the best way to counter LostGar will be go at step 1, and preventing the gengar players from ever getting a chance to hurl into darkness any or your pokemon. Disruptions deck already do a good job of this, so it'll come down to a matter of consistency vs disruption.
