Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

My own website

as long as you're using someone else's content without permission, there IS no way to 'make sure' you 'don't get in any trouble' for it...

Well im more concerned about the episodes, there is a bunch of websites that link the episodes to megavideo.
The episodes are already there on megavideo but the site shares the link.

As for magazines they arent so strict unlike episodes/movies.

I called beckett representative they said its ok as long as im not making money off of it.

So i know i got the ok for that.

Prima official guide i havent asked yet.

More concerned how to get the episodes on there.

I guess i can upload to youtube, leave it unlisted,i cant see how i can get in trouble for a vid that cant even be find in a search engline anyhow.

I would not put links to episodes, scans of magazine pages, etc... generally if you didn't create the content, then you're violating a copyright law. Sometimes whoever owns copyright over the content might not care since people using their stuff gets them publicity (like for example Pokemon could in theory make all sites remove images of Pokemon, but they know that wouldn't be a good move).

If you want to put ads on your website (which you probably will end up doing, not many people make donations), then you'd be violating your agreement with beckett.

I found this on youtube, someone posted episode 1 on their acount and posted this in the description box

He had it up for 2 years now and nearly 300k views.
Alot of people have episodes online and they dont have theirs taken down.

Also my plan is having the vids "unlisted" meaning its not in any search on youtube.

So its not just out their for the entire public to search for it.

What i wanna see come of this soon to be site is more fans, episodes, magazines, and more relaxed rules.

That is my main focus too try to have little to no rules on the site.

upload scans w/o watermarks becaus ei know thats what the fans want.

Plain and simple give the fans what they want.

The best you can hope for is that you don't get noticed. Posting about it on here is not clever - you're basically telling P!P you are going to break their copyright.

Baby mario-Im gonna look into it some more,
Im trying to figure out what i can offer fans that other sites dont.

i want the fans to do as much as they want on the site.

I also think the donations will be very successful,i have items alot of people dont have and one of the the few people that do have them items is the only one(s) showing em on youtube.

Im sure people will donate if they want to encourage seeing a collection different than the usual on youtube.

So many collections are the same on youtube with my youtube and my site i wanna be the only one if not one of the only ones to have what i have and to show it for the world.

People like to see new things if they know there gonna tune in and see something new or something you dont see everyday that might encourage them to donate.

I dunno crazy . . . I like seeing cool Pokemon items as much as anyone, but I wouldn't dream of parting with actual money just to see stuff. Not even in real life and especially not on YouTube.

There are some strange people on the internet though, so you never know.

Even so, the only way you can cover your costs (never mind make money) with a free website is to have ads on it.

Who are you aiming the site at? Collectors? Players? Anime fans?

Whatever, the main thing is to try and make sure that the content is top quality. That will do more good than 'no rules' and 'no watermarks' ever could.

how much profit does pokegym, beach, serebii make with their ads, after the cost topaying for the site itself.
How much money will they make.

Also i gotta think about fan base.
if i have 10 thousand members and followers and subscribers,if each of them donate as much as $1 i can buy the Pre raichu card.

Also high demand for scans without watermarks im sure by following peoples demands they would like to donate,Also i would take those free mail card that people do on youtube also advertise for ed and brian on that site. all these will help the community and my collection.

In a world like today all i can do is hope.

You'll never be told how much those sites make. That info is very private.

I think you should start small and concentrate on quality. It will take years of providing great content to get 10,000 subscribers for a Pokemon site.

As far as I know, non of those sites make a profit, or if they do, it isn't the main focus of the site.

Getting 10,000 followers on YouTube (and that's genuine subscribers who actually like your videos, not counting spam bots, sub4sub people or any of those) will take a long time. You've been on YouTube for over a year, you have 11 videos and only have 139 subs and 8,200 total views. And on top of that, getting all fans to donate will take a lot.

Take a look at SixPrizes, they get a lot of views, but only a fraction of visitors actually pay for content. And that content is exclusive stuff, such as deck articles written by some the players who are at the top of the game. Anything you're offering could be found with some time on google.

Free Cards By Mail are sent to YouTube channels which are very popular in order to promote yourself, or as a thank you to people who have helped you or who you've formed friendships with. So don't expect any of those to come in for a long time.

And if anyone did donate any money to you, it would be because they would want to see inprovements to your site, not for you to buy the Prerelease Raichu with.

the only way you are going to get scans without watermarks is to scan them yourself or have people scan them from you. no site is going to give you their raw unwatermarked scans...

also, profit? you really think TC makes money on this site? =/

Where would they make money? The only advertisements on here are links to Pokemon's page's about events and pre-releases. Forums aren't free iirc.

According to the internets, Pokegym makes about $15 a day, which with the ammount of traffic this website gets, barely, if at all, covers the cost of running it

Well we will see,i got over 8k in views and i havent really tried on youtube,if i actually put effort and do 1 or 2 vids a week ill be even better.

Im confident my plan will work,

And donations is to help with the site and my collection.
I will be encourage to keep the site alive and add new and great things other sites dont have.

Like i said it will be a joint site youtube and my site so donation will be so i can keep up with everything i am doing even collecting.

Also with the free cards i get in the mail i can trade those or sell them if i wanted to,im trying to create a community to encourage trade, contest, donation etc and not just me but for everyone.

Also if i have enough viewers on youtube i can become a partenr with them and make money from youtube that way.

Again im not charging anyone anything that happens is because of the other party.

Wow, you have 8k views? Pokegym has over 10k MEMBERS and has been around for 10+ years.

It's a pipe dream dude, if you want to waste your time then go for it, but it's not going to work.

How much does it cost to run a site, ont it cost like 10-15 a year on godaddy.
With my site their will be no mods or anyone else running it,ill be the only one running the site so running it cant cost too much money if im doing all the work.
