Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

Next rotation?

OK, maybe I was wrong about the money part but I was right about the fact that Pokemon would receive a lot of dislike if they were to switch out half a format as decks like Rayeels, Hammertime, Speed Darkrai, Hydregion/Darkrai, Ho-oh, White Tea, Landorus/Mewtwo, Garbodor decks, Darkrai/Landorus, etc. People would be forced to play Keldeo/Blastoise, Landorus/Mewtwo (the worst deck in format now) or if they have enough money, Thundurus/Deoxys (who I think is horrible and not worth it as it probably won't see many wins).

My bet that it has to be NXD-on. The effects it would be...
-Disappearance of Garbodor decks (W/O Gothitelle)
-Disappearance of ZekEels (W/O Dynamotor)
-Disappearance of Glaciate Kyurem
-Disappearance of Energy switch (EX decks (Especially Ho-oh) will get down-powered)
(anymore to mention?)

Thanks to SP-TK (PFZ), and other item shinies, We should still have...
-Max Potion
-Ultra ball
-Random Receiver
-Pkmn Catcher.

As far as promos go, some stores still have their Winter 2012 tins and Rayquaza would quickly sell out. D-M would still be stuck on store shelves.

In terms of statistics, every rotation left atleast 8 sets still within rotation. Leaving only 5 sets intact would limit stores to a few sets being sold. (Last rotation was 5hg+4-5bw=10 sets)

Look at BCD. The basic necessities trainers are in that set. We could then see a format with BCD on and then ultimately a full elimination of the B-W era.

... what garbodor deck runs Gothitelle? That seems completely counter-productive, as Gothitelle's ability is shut off by Garbodor.

Garbodor is here to stay, bro.

As for Ray being bought up while the two others arent... explain. Doesnt make any sense, seeing as Ray would fall from play after rotation while the others are completely unaffected.

Remember that Darkrai/Mewtwo/Rayquaza do no rotate just because their sets do. The promo numbers have to rotate them out as well. If the format was DRX on there would still be a chance that the 3 of them would still be legal depending on what promos they rotated

If you are responding to me, I didn't say Ray would be rotated. If Ray was rotated, both Darkrai and Mewtwo would be. However, Ray would be almost unplayed due to no eels.

Hopefully it'll be NXD onward. Shaymin is the only semi-playable Grass type EX right now, and it would be good to have something to pair with Genesect. Even if Shaymin was used, it would only be a one or two off and used late game, but would still be a good option to have available.
And although Mewtwo will continue to be good, as mentioned previously the promos keep it in even if NXD is rotated, and even so, Deoxys will put a wrench into any Mewtwo player's day though. With the potential of the single turn play+CM+Psychic attachment for an instant OHKO on any active/Catchered Mewtwo with enough energy to attack, it's a pretty good counter.

All in all, the main thing that will go out of play is Eels, which is almost a certainty.

Rumors are saying DEX-on. this is supported by the fact that rotating DEX would mean no catcher, and without cather everything is ridiculously powerful. But another possiblity is NXD on, since it is the start of the EX era. it also keeps Mewtwo in the format and Level/Heavy Ball. Also Possible is DRX-on, since it is the start of the Dragon types and rotates out Darkrai. But maybe we won't even see a rotation to keep Eelektrik in the format as well as trainer cards from b/w that haven't been reprinted yet.

tl;dr: just stay away from bw/ep/nv(kinda)

there is what i said, guys.

I hope they don't rotate anytime soon because every game changing card has been reprinted. A rotation is to keep the game fresh and with all the cards being reprinted the way they are, the game wont change, even with the rotation.

As long all all these decks I'm working on, etc don't become obsolete once May comes around.. I'll be okay.

A few interesting and powerful changes are coming our way.. going to be exciting

I just bought tins out the wazoo of darkrai and mewtwo lol.

guess i could always fall back on the keldeo/blastoise.. the ones i wanted to avoid.

Chill out man... if what people post on a Pokemon TCG online forum upset you this much you may need to rethink your life 0_0

I have a feeling you get along with a lot of people... incredible presence, and your ability to not insult others while trying to get your point across is a quality not many possess.

Discussing every aspect of possible changes are not a bad thing.

Pokemon can do whatever they want with their sets and the rotation... They could not have a rotation, or maybe only cut BW-EP, or even do what they said and cut how many sets they need to cut to have about 8? sets by next season... The only thing we know is that we will have cards to play with next season and thats it. Also dont be angry and start insulting everyone on a forum. We are only giving our opinions as you are also.

If they did cut up to Dragons, it would get rid of Rare Candy as well.
So quite a few decks would suffer.

Of course with the X & Y stuff on the horizon, it's almost a certainty it gets a new version.

Though I am not sure why they put Potion in Boundaries Crossed unless they are planning on cutting some B&W sets soon.

Basic Energy are always legal. They will never rotate.

You just reminded me of something.

You know what we need? Special Dark and Metal Energy. :3

I feel like we need that again after rotation.

That would be a bad idea. With Dark Claw for dark types and Eviolite for everything else, remaking those cards would bring balance issues. We have basic dark and basic metal now so they are not needed. If they do reprint those, they would have to make special energy for all the other energy types.
