Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

Next TCG Set Named - Platinum--Rising Rivals

Ugh! I don't know if I like the direction that pokemon is taking, going with all these basic pokemon. It seens like you will be playing one of two decks. Either an all basic pokemon SP deck. Or you play machamp haha. I can't wait to see what unfolds for worlds of 09!!!

Don't worry, evolutions will still be strong. In fact, Rising Rivals will probably have Flygon and Flygon lv.X in it (from the Japanese Platinum 2 set), two strong cards that are designed to combat those SP decks! :) Flygon punishes them for running Stadium cards (which they need for their Skuntanks) and Flygon lv.X instantly knocks out Dialga G lv.X, Palkia G lv.X, Gallade 4 Lv.X and so on - cards that the SP decks are very dependent upon.

I don't think we need to worry that the format will become Basic only.

hmmm.... the gallade 4 is readable for me since i m chinese. It pronounce as "si" in chinese. Means four. XP

The Japanese "stole" the character from China, and actually often use that very same Chinese pronunciation for it. :) 四 = shi/si!

Then POP should put this in the like official rules xD
I can see so mane people going like "What is that' o-O;"

It's just going to be the delta symbol all over again. :D

Yay! I had a hunch the new set would be revealed soon. May 20th seems so far away-one day less than two months. Pack art is fine, and the set name is typical of Pokemon. My favorite set names were the neo era one; Genesis, Discovery, Revelations, ect... I wish PUSA would revive WotC's biblical theme, though I'm positive that would never happen.

True. There is no Houndoom in BET or PotF. I wonder where it comes from?

Houndoom 4

It is a dark type and in one of the Japanese decks, I think the Infernape one.

The other 2 boosters are Leafeon and Scizor.

Theme Decks are Gallade and Rhyperior

I was wondering how long until they released a set whose abbreviation could be confused with another set.

How is it bad? It can snipe the bench.

I think he ment Gallade 4 Lv. X's HP is bad as it only has 100, so any psychic type that can do 50=Dead Gallade.

Hmm, would make the mirror fairly interesting, can be comboed with Azelf AND it's Deep Balance attack

it's nothing like the delta symbol.
people in the US are used to the Delta symbol along with many other greek letter due the use of these letters in mathematics and physics and other uses. (pi is a great example too) and many people put "d" instead of the "curly" d for delta.

Personally as a Mathematics major the delta symbol was pretty easy to write and I had 0 problem with it :s

This is completely different thing that most US people aren't gonna be used too. However since they will except the "4" it can't be that bad, but I think it's awfully weird PUI kept something the same for once (since they never do in the Animé) And even the card game (Blastoise ex and Articuno ex situation reminder)

Why on earth are you calling it "stupid"? You might successfully argue for "confusing" since most Americans won't understand, but "stupid"?? Prerelease questions? In my trade, we call this a "teachable moment" (Guess what I do for a living?) YGO used Kanji since the beginning and no one seemed to mind.

All I can say is that we've come a long way since onigiri pretending to be "popcorn balls" and "jelly donuts". I'm glad that PUI is no longer hiding the games' origins (you'd be amazed how many new players still don't know that the game is Japanese!)

We're just saying it'd be nice if the English version of a card used a numeral that everyone on the planet uses, including most everyone in Japan.

I found out the reason y there is a 4 @ the end of some pokémon names, I'ts just to say it belongs to 1 of the Elite 4 members, like GL is Gym Leader
