Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

North Texas: 2009-2010 City Championships

You're like, 11. I wouldn't let a 11-12 year-old kid tell me my rulings.

Robby's 16-17 (sorry bro, I forgot lol).

Sign me up for Watauga, by the way, Danny

Plus, I'm an experienced player who has probably been playing longer than most of the judges we have, I know the rules.

Also on the age, that's correct. ;)

REW, Judging???

I will allow it! Not many I would support from this age group, but he is one of them!

Remember folks, 10 am is a Hard start for Watauga on Round 1 due to time constraints!!

Fish

If your coming, the spots are filling quickly so make sure to PreReg!

Is there a cap for Tom Bean or Tyler?

I do not want to drive all the way to Tom Bean only to find out it is full. I know that several people from Oklahoma will go to Tom Bean.

There is no cap for these "City Championships". The only cap that has been announced is Watagua. But, caps will be one of the items to be given away at these events.

As MP Birch says, there will be no cap at Tom Bean. We can handle at least 42 players fairly comfortably, and with tournaments in Tyler and Watuga I don't see us getting that high. Do you need direcetions to Tom Bean? (Would you be coming from Gainseville, I-35, or Durant, US 69?)

If I am going to Tom Bean, it will be via US-75 N. Although using US-78 to get to Tom Bean is far easier.
I am meeting with people on one of the US-75 exit. To get from that exit to US-78 takes about 20 minutes of driving.

hey mpb will i have to preregister for the sherman cc??

You do not have to preregister for the Sherman CC but it will be held in a very small store. If we have more than 31 masters or more than 15 Juniors/Seniors, space will get cramped. There will not be a place for players to mill around between games so hopefully we will have decent weather so players can go outside if they wish.

What is the cut off time for registration before a round 1 loss? I have to work Saturday morning...

According to the Pokemon Organized Play Tournament Rules section 6 "Tardiness": "Players arriving more than 5 minutes late for any round should receive a match loss for that round." I interpret that as if you pre-registered and showed up late. However, I believe you would not go to the back of the line for tie breakers, as it would be a mathch loss not a late registration. I think if you register after the first round starts, you get a first round loss and lose tie breakers for final standings.

Due to the time change of the Christmas parade, the Tom Bean City tournament will start after the parade, around 11:15, rather than 10:30. Hope that helps.

Can we use card(s) from World Championship decks, which was recently released, as reference card(s) for our foreign cards? Assume that the card(s) from World Championship decks are in a different sleeve than the sleeves use for the deck.
Most of us already know that we cannot use cards from World Championship decks.
I am asking for people who use foreign cards in their deck.
Those cards do fit better in a deck box than a printed page from card-dex.

Yes, you may use cards from the "World Championship Decks" as reference cards for your foreign cards in premier events.

And we can have 1 foreign and 1 English, and still need the reference card, right? So if we have 2 PA Spiritombs, but want to play 1 English and 1 Japanese, all we have to have is the reference?

Will there be a lunch break?

(sorry... I just had to ask this)

I am sure that we will have a lunch break in Tyler. Unless, we are playing like three rounds. Always prepare for the worst.

If you are playing foreign cards or card, you must have a reference outside of your deck.
