NW Regional Championships: Salem OR, November 12-13, 2011 (TCG AND VG)

Hey guys! I went ahead an created a Facebook event for this tournament, hopefully it will help us get the

I don't know if I'll be able to play in the top 16 if I make it :0. My first football game is the sunday after the normal Swiss rounds. But if I dont make the top 16 or what ever, then I'll be fine
 
I know that people have been talking about some special things Team Rockets got going on.
If you play in the DS tourney & TCG on Saurday the 12th you can receive 1 of 4 insanely powerful Pokemon to complete your DS team. This will be limited to the first 100 players.
 
Man, getting there from Edmonton doesn't look easy....

Why can't Salem have an international airport? =(

Portland has an airport & then it would be about an hour drive from there.
Hope you can work things out to come on down and see us.

Stats and info for the DS team giveaway~ (typo on the flier says they will be give out on Sunday but these are exclusive to players on Saturday the 12)

The way I read the Pokemon website is a YES to the BYE's and NO to the travel award. A Canadian will definitely get the 72 booster packs, the 10 Championship points, and I think will get two round Byes at the Canadian National Championship. I'm not a 100% sure on the byes, since the byes say they are at US Nationals. I would assume these would transfer to Canadian Nationals, but I don't know for sure.

The PAID TRIP to the US National Championship goes to the highest place US Resident. (It isn't a $300 travel stipend, it is a PAID TRIP!)

Oops, sorry I'm a VGC player actually. For us, instead of boosters, #1 gets a full paid trip and #2 - #4 get $300 travel stipends. I asked TPCi a little bit ago and got the reply that the paid trip would NOT transfer, but they hadn't decided on the travel stipends yet. I was hoping maybe something had been communicated to the PTO since then.

I can see it making sense to still give the travel stipends as I was assuming #1 can't be transferred due to TPCi already booking hotels for Nationals at the locations and not being able to change them. #2 - #4 shouldn't have that issue.
 
The Shilo just confirmed that the open gaming area for our players and staff staying there is a go. The room will seat 60 players and will be open Friday from check in until 2:00 AM and Saturday from 6:00 PM until 2:00 AM!!! :thumb:
