Obama Wins! (Official)

I for one am glad he won. Now its time for change this country needs badly.

And all those people saying they will move out of the country, why are you saying that? You can't handle the change of the first black president in your lifetime.

So everyone who lives in the Middle East is a bad apple then? That sounds a lot more ignorant to me than what Prime said.

No, prime was stating that a few bad apples caused 9/11. Isn't the amount of taliban and islamic radicals high in the mid east.

Not everyone in the mid east is a bad apple, its just that bad apples appear more plentiful there.

I've just stayed up all night at a British pro-Obama party, and danced all the way home after he won. Now I'm sitting in my room listening to the speech. I have to say, props to McCain for an excellent concession, but the best candidate won. The political event of my lifetime.

Well done Barack. Now I have to carry the vain hope that somehow the right wing won't take Britain too. It seems incredibly unlikely.

All of the people saying that you will leave the country because Obama won, you will be leaving a country that is better than it has been for the last 8 years!

i swear, nothing these republican supporters say make any logical sense. i bet in 2 years when this country is in good times again, the republicans will still be going "oh the united states is in horrible shape"

You DO realize that Congress has an approval rating of about 11% and it mainly (D), now what does that say. Overall the American people don't like the Gov't in general, but since the media is owned by the Liberals they don't say anything about that since they would be pointing out that they are doing a worse job then Bush. Read in between the lines. Bush had to deal with an uncooperative Congress thus nothing got done, (R) wanted to work but (D) wanted to go on vacation. (D) overall are lazy good for nothings that take vacations while they should be working.

You have it in reverse. The (D) will blame the (R) like they always do when something they do goes wrong.

It has nothing to do with race, I could care less what my pres. looked like but Obamas background frightens me. I have ppl accusing me of being racist now, "oh ok buddy thats why I have black friends.":/

Btw here is the stupid reasons that fellow students in my ap gov class gave as to why obama should win.

1. Mccain will die in office
2. Mccain looks creepy
3. Mccain is too old
4. Palin is not smart
5. Obama is a good speaker
6. Obama is black

And here is my favorite...

ppl: Obama will bring change.

Me: ok how?

ppl: ...he is going to make health care free and spread the wealth so there will be less poor ppl.

Me: ok how is he going to do that w/o putting us more into debt.

ppl:...haven't you heard his plans?

Me: yeah have you

ppl:......yeah *walks off*

Infidels. All infedels but hey, what can you expect from stupid blind sheep.

I prefer McCain, however Obama has the thing this nation is in desperate need of.

Enthusiasm, and the feeling of change.

Let's be honest, the last 8 years has left a rather unsavory flavor for most of the nation. Obama is telling the people he is going to change that. That is what the people respond to.

He can motivate the people of a nation and generation (mine) that has been more or less apathetic to the recent events.

I don't think he will screw up the US anymore then it is now. I do not think McCain would have either.

Obama has the quality people like, he is looking to change everything that HAS made the people upset.

At this point, there is no point complaining, he DID win, and IS going to be the next president of the United States. The only thing we can do now is wait and seee what he does. With all luck, he'll take the nation to a better level then it is now.

I have two thoughts about Obama's speech...

1. The guy can CAPTIVATE. He is quite possibly the greatest public speaker of our time. I haven't heard a speech like that in a very long time. I had Republican friends next to me wiping their eyes after hearing that speech, a massive smile on their face. I've never actually seen that before, so that was an experience for me.

2. He's set one HECK of a standard for himself. He's claiming to be able to completely unite the country. I don't think that's even possible, but I'd love to be proven wrong. I noticed that he didn't use the word "I" until about 15 minutes into his speech. It was all "We" and "Us" until that point. The only time he used "I", from what I saw, was when he was talking about that woman in Georgia.

Oh, and there's a very particular reason I was hoping for 59 and not 60. 59 means that the GOP still have a weapon at their disposal, should they choose to use it. At 60, the Dems have complete control, and at 67 they have 100% control. 59 is a good number to control Congress with. At 59, you can push through what you want, but you can't block the counters to that push.

The next 4 years are going to be VERY interesting...

lol Honestly, you just sound like some rich snobby kid who doesnt know the troubles of the middle/poor class.
If Obama does what he says he will do, or at least live up to what he said in some way, this country will be alot better than it was.

Ha, I wish I were rich. Politicians 99% of the time never do what they say. It's all just for show to see what people will for there flashy gimmicks. The only I'm glad for is that I don't have to see any more of those crappy political ads until 2010.

Wow, this is the only forum where Obama's winning thread actually has negative posters. wow.

It was the GOP dominated Supreme Court that is stripping away your rights, along with the Patriot Act brought to you by the previously GOP dominated Congress.

I can care less if your racist or not and saying" thats why I have black friends" will not prove anything. It has everything to do with race and will continue to do so for the next 4 to 8 years if Obama is still alive during those years. Just think about Obama got SS protection as he was running for office which is why SD Pokemom said what she said and most of your Republican and white supremicists what to keep the White House white. So to say that race has nothing to do with it, then your dead wrong and anyone here not trying to hide it will tell you so.

But Obama already won, so we will see how these next 4 years will play out.

I didn't vote for Obama or Mccain as i don't feel either is up to the Challenge.

Mccain in my opinion is just another Bush no matter how hard he trys to deny it. Being a POW doesn't mean you know how to run a Country. He just didn't have the American People in mind in my opinion.

Obama is a Great Speaker, but fancy Talk and Promises doesn't mean squat if you don't have the Experience and Plan to carry out what you Promise. I'm afraid what were going to get is a lot broken Promises and excuses in the next 4 yrs. I hope i'm proven wrong, but electing him to run a Crumbling Country is like asking an Uneducated Student to solve the Countrys Problems. I was for Hillary, but when she lost, it didn't matter who won. Good Luck is all i can say.
