Obama Wins! (Official)

I am going to hope for the best and that I will be proven wrong about Obama. BUT, if the economy comes crashing down, all those who were so into the Obama hype should remember how great they said he would be.

BTW, when will people realize that any "free" service provided by the gov. is a load of junk? The thought of a health care system being like what our public "school"(you can hardly even call it a school) is like scares me.

That being said, I wish the best of luck to him, and that he becomes a truly great president.

Excuse me, I go to a public school and it is phenomenal.

The only reasons schools are so horrible is because teachers are getting paid worse than garbage men. $30k a year for a job that you have to work 24/7 from August-June? ****, I'd rather pick up garbage too.

In that respect, I have tons of respect for public school teachers, wayyy more than other professions that make triple, quadruple, or even quintuple what teachers make.

Well, when Bush was reelected in 2004 I feared for the worse but hoped for the best.
...
Fears beat out hopes.

I'm wondering if anyone who voted Bush '04 but disapproves of Bush now is apologizing to anyone for voting for him in 2004.
All the info about what he was doing was there to see in 2004.

I'm not holding my breath waiting, but it's just curious to me how many times some people can get lied to and still not get that they're being lied to.

Kettler: It was a GOP dominated Congress that tried to impeach Clinton for an affair! That is a personal matter between he and his wife, NOT the Nat'l gov't! When Clinton lied, nobody died, unlike Bush. (Dubya) At least when Nixon was being looked at for impeachment, it involved gov't issues. Like 'Pop said, Bush and Cheney could have been impeached by the Dem congress, but they haven't been.

Actually, the House impeached him for perjury (lying under oath).

At any rate, I'm glad I voted for Obama. :D

*YAWN,* kids who are homeschooled talking about something they don't even do is a little jumping the gun to me.

Why did like three people post the same exact thing?

Also, to anyone who feels that public school is somehow subpar: going to public schools impede NOTHING. Education is what you make of it. Libraries exist, go read a book.

I've gone to both private and public, and received a much better education at a public school, where the largeness of the facilities allowed for more specialized education and attention, as well as a diverse array of classes and people to meet.

But that's just it. Everything about schools is so negative, they convince kids that learning is boring, and should be avoided whenever possible. Kids need positive associations with education, not negative ones. Learning needs to be voluntary, stupidity should be enough of a punishment, and knowledge should be its' own reward. And yes, I'm homeschooled too.

We can clone humans. Why can't we clone oil?

But cloning Humans is unethical and is widely unaccepted by a majority of people's throughout the world and the gov't's that rule them. I'm 100% against cloning mainly because they would be only created for their organs and such, but like in the movies they would be self-aware and also they are human life, so killing them for their organs would be like murder and well just go see some movies and that is what you'll get. Secondly Oil is like coal in that it was once the remains of dead plants and animals. Over time the heat and pressure turn the remains into oil. So if you try and clone oil the only thing you would be able to get would be the remains of the organism(s) not the substance (oil). Oil isn't living.

Someone asked awhile back how many here actually voted. Well, I did and have done so ever since I was 18. I have not missed an election since. I have voted on both sides in every election. I dont think I have EVER voted a straight party line ticket. (of course, I am including state and local elections in this) I vote for who I think will do the best job.

This year, I voted Obama.

Back to back posts merged. The following information has been added:

He wasn't impeached for the affair. He was impeached for lying under oath.

I agree that it was silly and wrong for Clinton's affair to get thrown out in front of congress.

I disagree that him lying under oath is not a big deal - it's actually an enormous deal, because Clinton undermined the rule of law by trying to get away with that.

Same here, plus they get better extracurricular funding, no school in Seattle has our Arts department, nobody.

Yahooo! obama won!

I'm so jealous of US. I mean, u guys can go for homeschool!

Here in my country, u MUST go to the public school. If not the cops will go to ur house and arrest ur parents :frown::frown:

I notice that you glossed over the "at least when Clinton lied, no one died" portion. When Dubya lied, many many americans died in Iraq! What is worse?
