If there were so many counters too it, why did it win worlds in masters and do extremely well in other divisions? GG was the UNDISPUTED BDIF.

Toxi/Scizor Laughed at GG at the juniors, and GG was nothing in the seniors, and masters..... they know how to make good decks! I didn't see any GG decks in the top 2 in seniors, Empoleon can even outspeed it. Gallade should have been banned instead, that card made everybody sick.

oi, some seniors are good deck builders, ive only been in masters for 1 season and okay my play has improved but not ZOMG masters! style. and im still doing well at tournements
I actually just learned how to play the game and all... And I probably have no right in saying this but...
Field, hand, etc locking is...pretty much already too much of a step into being like Yu-Gi-Oh. I was happy in my simple little world before one of my friends had to go and bring Scramble Energies, Dark Tyranitar, and Rare Candies into the mix.
In the end, competitions just get sort of annoying. The Metagame nazis, or the degenerates of the gaming community as I call them, bring the game down to simple "this wins and that is all the game is."
However... Personally I don't believe in banning all too much. I say things should be handled within context. If people want to rip off a deck, that's fine... that's their choice, and they should be able to choose their own paths and subsequent consequences. But they should be pitted against the BIGGEST MEATIEST METAEST DECK, FORGED DIRECTLY BY THE GODS AND SHOVED DOWN ONTO THIS PITIFUL PLANET JUST FOR THE SOLE PURPOSE OF PURGING IT OF THOSE SEEN UNWORTHY.

Newsflash to rhodesia: Kingdra doesn't PWN nearly as much as PLOX did. There are so many ways to counter it unlike PLOX in the last format...
