There's no point in banning a card. It's all one big cycle. A deck wins a major event. The list gets shown on a website/forum. People start netdecking. People start complaining. Rinse and repeat as many times as you want... Banning a card isn't going to do a thing. If you want to stop something like this get everyone to stop netdecking. It's just that simple of course that will never happen >_> This is the reason why the metagame isn't that diverse...

The best way to beat a powerful deck is to come up with a deck idea that isn't something that's known. Look at the card database and come up with something. Find a pokemon that may seem weak and make it tourney worthy. This is what defines a skillful player with a less skillful player. Over the past 10 years i've played 30+ CCG's/TCG's they ALL work the same way.

By the way if you aren't the original person that made the deck you will NEVER be as good as the person that is when you play the deck. It's just a fact, because that player knows it a lot better.

I've got some points for you.

NO ONE has come up with a deck to beat GG/Pl0x consistantly, and still survive in the format. Banette is good vs GG, but it dies against practically anything else.

Also, I don't think Gino L. invented the deck, but he sure played it better, because he won Nats. It really doesn't matter who invented the deck if the concept is pretty much screaming in your face from the set spoilers. Kinda like AMU, there is no true "inventer," because everyone can see the cards go together. So you're saying if I don't invent the deck I'm playing, there is no possible way I can reach the culmination of knowing the deck? I doubt that. Most skilled players can, after intense playtesting, learn the ins and outs of ANY deck. Everyone knows what the cards do, the only thing you have to learn is strategy, and that just takes practice. Indeed, Martin won Nats 2 years ago, with a deck he didn't even have until the day before the tourney. Someone just gave him the deck, he playtested it, and then went on to be better than the creator of the deck. Looks like that statement of yours doesn't hold water.

Yes, Torterra does give you some credit, but it didn't win Nats. GG did.

Yeah, what he said.

It would be a good idea......I didn't see one good reason why it should be banned. And now that Worlds is here, we have to learn to live w/it.

I can't believe that people would discuss such a stupid topic for 23 pages. There will always be something to stop Powers, guys.

Also, in before thread lock (or even change to LOLBANGARDYFOR2009!)

Yeah and they will be able to deal average damage, have a broken power, and have another form with a great power and a sick attack, right? Not to mention have another card that evolves from your basics that is an excellent attacker, right?

actually, GG came first in masters at worlds... second to straight blissey. that uses cessation, er2 and maybe even crystal beach (but thats a guess).

so probabl the best deck for dealing heavy damage and disruption couldnt beat it. and i know the player it a big part, but for gods sake, am i the only one that thinks the way gardy kept winning was just rediculous?

actually, this whole season was just ridiculous, it was gardy and magmortar the whole way through... whats the point in that? id say that this season probably had the biggest competetive player dropout rate, and i dont blame them! the guys that actually decide whats printed on these cards better get their arse's in gear for next season...

I thought we all agreed that this thread should die?

I guess not. I, for one, do not think the results of worlds in any way vindicate the deck. On the contrary, most of the people I talked to seemed to be opposed to it's dominance (though this was before the final results). After the last game, I did not get the impression that people felt significantly better about the season as a whole.

Guys, back on topic please. Discuss why gardy should have been banned or don't post at all. If nothing is contributed to the discussion then let it die down. We will lock it if needed.

I do have one last thing to say b4lock.

Bronzong, used by a friend Professor of mine, was able to knock down every GG deck, by letting the opponent set them up.

That my friends, is one of the MANY ways to beat the GG deck. There's no need for a ban because there's always a way to beat another deck.
