Now, I'm not going to "read" all these lengthy posts, however what I will do is go ahead and pretend that I read them, and assume a lot of people have made ridiculous accusations that GG is "broken". Also I will go as far as to assume people have said that "GG takes all the fun out of the game!", and I am going to respond to that. What BETTER way is there to have fun than to win? I don't know about you but I don't think I have ever had more fun then when I cashed my scholarship money and was able to buy books at school this semester.

It's Tom Jones!

It's not unusual if the format is too lame,
It's not unusual for all decks to be the same.
But when your opponent stalls you out in a game,
it's not unusual to see you cry.
Oh you wanna' die.

It's not unusual to cry your heart away,
on the Pokegym just posting every day.
If your threads should ever not go your way,
it's not unusual to throw out all these names,
and make up all these claims,
you find it happens all the time.
PUI will never do,
what you want them to,
but you act like it's a crime.

It's not unusual to be mad with anyone,
it's not unusual to throw words at anyone.
But if you ever give up and are simply done,
it's not unusual to come right back to the game
whoa-oh-oh-oh
pure genius I actually karaoke this song once in a while
If I can grind in I want people to play GG I got something for it (I think)

This is like Yugioh! They ban cards that are too good. Maybe that is why it is a dead game...

Additionally, I don't really think GG OR Plox (by the usual standards) won US Nationals, Gino had a very original deck w/ Breloom, Cress, and Jirachi Ex that I don't think too many people ran.

This is nothing like Yugioh. Yugioh Skill/Luck Factor is UNBELIEVABLY unbalanced. That game is more lucksack than anything. They ban cards because they are 2 broken, they have to many outdated cards in yugioh and they had to ban certain cards to make other ones become playable.

No offense to Gino, but it was still PLOX either way you look at it,he may have put in Breloom,Cress and Jirachi, but people were teching Jirachi then, people had Cress in GG already b4 then and Breloom/Moonlight wasnt that game breaking, yea 120 for 3,but its still meh.

Comparing Yugioh to Pokemon would be bad since the Yugioh is in a terrible state and they have alot of stale formats(Cyber Stein-Chaos-Cyber Dragon-Monarch format ruled formats).Good thing POP isnt like upperdeck cuz upperdeck is doing such a terrible job.

Did you ever just tough it and consider that Gardy is not unbeatable? Anyone could easily win against it, it isn't like it is the greatest card ever.

Why is it that all of you say that G&G is unoriginal? I say all of you are unoriginal for pushing it to the side, saying "That card sucks!" and not coming up with a way to beat it.

And what does this do for anyone who has a rogue deck that maybe techs in a Gardevoir? That hurts them, and they don't even run G&G/PLox!

And you know PUI would NEVER make a ban like this, considering if it went through, there would be just as many, if not more people who would be p.o'd for the ban.

Did you ever consider that maybe people play PLox because it is good?

Except banning this deck opens up the format to a good 7-8 decks, including rogue decks. Anything can beat gardy. We call this a "donk". Don't expect it to happen in a 8 round tournament, where 5-6 matchs are against it. Have you came up with a way to beat it? Constantly? Its very hard to beat a deck that has an answer to every counter you throw at it. If you think that people will be mad that plox was banned for worlds, you're purely mistakten. Its not very fun to play the same deck for over 8 months, is it? Did you ever consider people play Plox because they have a 50/50 match up against a deck thats just broken in this format? And Gino has been running that varient for the longest time. It has a good matchup in mirrior, which is why he won. However, its definatley a GG varient.

There is absolutely NO REASON whatsoever it should be banned. If you don't like a card, deal w/it.

I USED to play the deck and found it usually countered pretty well simply by dealing enough damage.

I would really like to see a poll on the front page on what people think of this. Whether they feel that Gardevoir should be banned for Worlds in something that actually keeps track of peoples votes..

Drew

I second that notion. Like I said, there's no reason A SINGLE card should be banned. What's to stop Gallade from making a combat.

Did the deck have Gardevoir? Did it have Gallade? Yes, it had both. That makes it GG.

I think increasing time limits in games would solve the problem a lot better. Sure, the variants are amazing, butGardevoir/Gallade decks are extremely beatable in untimed games. Their ability to monopolize the clock is a large part of what makes them extremely solid choices.

I agree with you all the way on this one. In testing against G&G with Edgar, I could almost always win in an untimed match, but if I tried a timed match it was a lot harder to win.

Either increase time limits, because face it, not just GG but all decks take MUCH more time to set up these days.

Or limit a deck to EITHER gardy or gallade but not both.

It's time for a fun minigame of Answer a Quote with a Quote!

Ahh, this one should do nicely (he's a bit harsh, but his logic is infallible):

Can you please STOP acting like you're the best rogue player ALIVE? And STOP with the exclamation points after EVERY post? If a rogue beats it, WHY DIDN'T IT WIN ANYTHING ALL YEAR?! You think the top players haven't TRIED! Read my post again!

We have DEALT with the deck all SEASON people. I'm playing in Worlds and I'd like to play against SOMETHING ELSE! Is that a freaking crime?
(of course, ignore the part about the exclamation marks)

If "rogue" decks are teching in Gardevoir, that only cements the fact that the card is broken. Rogue decks should be able to stand on their own two damn feet without teching in half of a PLOX list.

Yes, because running Breloom and Cress was unheard of until that point, and teching in those and an ex with the same kind of attack as Gardevoir obviously changes the entire strategy of the deck. Now, instead of one-shotting stuff and Power-locking, you can Power-lock and one shot stuff, all with a slight change in card list! ZOMG NEW DEK!

-_-

Play this I saw someone do this at nats.

Snorlax d
Dialga lv x
Holon Circle
Wigglytuff GE
Venusaur - Poison one
4 Scott
4 Cess Crystal
4 Scramble.

Lol, I love when you post,it just makes the thread that much more enjoyable.

Signed. I'm sick of feeling forced to play it.

If anything this says a lot about game balance issues in the TCG. Because psychic's most common weakness is another psychic, if a good psychic deck ends up dominating the format, the only thing that counters it best is a mirror match. I guess PUI has to start making less broken psychic pokemon.

Oh, and if anything, Marvin's post just gained him some points on the sexy meter.

A ban on these cards is hardly needed. However I would like to see them run a DP-MD format for worlds. With scramble and double rainbow out of the picture it would cause many players to rethink strategy with no time before worlds. Therefore resulting in more players having to think for themself and again creating a harder playing environment. Would anyone agree with that statement? Furthermore I would like to see ghost pokemon finally become there own type finally putting a end to this madness. Dark and steel beats ghost, ghost beats psychic and ghost, psychic beats fighting and poison. The only problem now with this is ghost beats ghost going right back to the same problem. Why don't we ever have this problem with the dragon types (also should have own type).

wow, that was a long 118-post read.

I agree that gardevoir (or gallade) should have been 'delt with' by now, but as we know, this will not be the case. Perhaps in our dreams will Dave publically annouce that Gardevoir is now banned, but otherwise it won't happen.

For all the people arguing "Theres a counter, stop complaining!" Where have you been the rest of the year? because you certainly havn't won Nationals....
Who could honestly say they've enjoyed this season. Playing against numerous amounts of G&G, having victories go down to who is the better staller? who can cheat better at RPS, who has the largest pile of horse shoes and rabbit feet?

Having a 'public' ban on the card would be all fine and dandy. However regardless of how ovbious you make your "Don't play gardy" stand, people will play it, win, be hated, and argue they didn't see it.

Honestly, enless pop takes things into their own hands, the issue will not resolve. Why doesn't the rest of the world play with the widden JPN format? This is beyond me, i'd LOVE to see some sort of LOGICAL explanation for this.

You know, I would be happy if they ONLY restricted/banned one of the cards for worlds and grinder. Next season make it leagal again, with DRE and scramble gone along with the coming of our next set I am not as worried....but then again we felt this way with the previous sets.

I think that at least it should be restricted at the grinder ad worlds.

After all, if Worlds is suppose to be the BEST OF THE BEST,and the best should be able to deal with not being able to use GG. Time to prove they are the best by not having to win with GG (which many have already started to attempt, ala nationals)
