Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

Opening Pokemon (Article) Featuring MD Updates

is claydol really a starter? you say you can start with baltoy, and, through testing and much experience with the card, the t1/2 holon scientist effect is useful, I ewouldn't really consider it a starter. that'd be like calling chatot a starter. =/

obviously claydol is for cosmic power, but it's not really going to do anything for you if you don't have a consistent way to grab the necessities in the first 2 turns of the game (evos/basics/etc.) Cards like Call, pach, and stantler fulfill this role. calling claydol is starter is like calling delcatty a starter too.

While claydol IS basically a staple in any deck, I think the better role for this card would be as a supporter pokemon.

The best ones are phione+call energy, pachirisu and furrett. These can be used in almost all decks. Then there are some, like smegrale+call energy which is better than all those in a garchomp deck.

Updates are done. Let me know if I haven't covered a good card, or haven't given smoething a fair review.

Back to back posts merged. The following information has been added:

It's not great as a starter, but Baltoy can be decent and it's a huge acelaeration.
