PokeDrawer+ - really that good?

ok, don't laugh when i say this, but i really don't think pokedrawer is that great. how often has it occurred to you that you have BOTH pokedrawers in your hand at once? for me, once out of 3 games. i'm not talking about late-game, i mean first 3-4 turns where it actually matters. people are using pokedrawer to get t1 rare candy in kingdra and machamp decks, yet i believe pokedex is the better card. then there's the luck factor of using it to draw a single card.. 1 for 1 ain't anything special. 'dex is practically a draw 2.

i'd go as far as saying pokeblower is the only useful of the 3; considering it's 1st effect is actually very, very good; especially in the deck i'm playing. pokehealer; bad - maybe in decks trying to protect one big pokemon (regigigas?) - it could be alright since OHKO's are quite rare in this format other than AMU which machamp killed IMO.

but umm, yeah.. maybe with, say, a DP budew engine could this card be good, but right now i'm not rly seeing it.

discuss!?!

I think Pokedrawer is more beneficial in the swarm type decks that run/used to run a very intensive Ball Engine. In decks that utilize many supporters and less trainers, I can see exactly where you're coming from. I would rather be using Pokeblower+ in decks like that.

However, I run 4 Pokedrawer+'s in my Scizor variant, as well as 4 Pokedex's and it has helped me in many situations, even to just draw for that one, or in situations when I can just hold it in my hand. And believe you me, having an opening hand with two of them is really smexy.

I definitely see your point, but I think its really helpful in things like Scizor or maybe the past T2 Banette.

i'm sure it'd be a good card if you ran it WITH pokedex; but my point is here pokedex would easily come first, no?

Oh, definitely. In the long run, looking at the top 2 and getting a choice of the one you want is far superior than getting stuck with just the solitary one.

Pokedex > Drawer in many ways, but definitely do not count out the Drawer in situations like swarm decks that can really use them.

pokedrawer isnt that great. dex gets you 1 card, 1 for 1 ... there is a choice but its still 1 for 1. blower is quite good, its like the closest thing to the great POW! hand extension back during 'the good times' . when you say ocured ... do you mean realised you have it or actually got it. cause if you only realised once then im worried about your playablillity. healer on gigas? why? he heals himself ! i got to be honest, thats completely lunacrus.

Pokedrawer + is a personal taste deck. Suprisingly, I don't use Claydol (I use Dialga), yet I have no problems drawing into both at once.

I'd run Azelf in most decks that choose to run it that aren't a T2. If you can spot one prized early, it can help your odds imensely in judging how to use it.

Still, as far as using it, you are very well off if you can try and hold it until you get the second. Its your choice between speed and power, Dex is faster, Drawer is stronger. Dex is fire and forget, Drawer is planned out.

i agree, my league members say its SOOO GREAT OMG!!! but i think its horrible unless u play auto search pokemon like furret or something

Running both Furret and Pokedrawer is redundant, as they do exactly the same thing. Searching out a piece of the Drawer puzzle with Keen Eye would be silly when you could just grab the two cards you'd be getting with Drawer right then and there.

As far as Pokedrawer as a card is concerned, I'm not willing to write it off entirely just yet. Certain combo-driven decks, especially those involving stage 2s (and thus Rare Candy), can really get a lot of mileage out of grabbing any 2 cards from the deck at multiple stages in a game. The possibility that you'll pull a pair early is also really enticing, especially in something like Kingdra that counts on burning through the deck on T1/T2. On the flip side, it's just not reliable and the burden of having to hold on to any Drawer that you get diminishes the value of Cosmic Power, Cynthia's Feelings, etc.. The fact that you virtually have to run 4 for it to have any use at all also means it takes away space for other, more consistent cards, and not that many decks can really afford to free up 4 slots that are only going to pay off a maximum of two times per game (barring Marley's, etc.).

I've had 0 problem using them in a non-claydol deck. They are definately not getting the attention they deserve, and they are definately the play over dex. Seriously, I'll never get why dex is even talked about. Rather quick ball or energy search (;/) than dex.

Quick Ball-- Top decks pokemon---best in T2 decks
Pokedex 910 (DP) can work well with quick ball if there is a pokemon you don't want to topdeck.
Luxury Ball (SF) beats Quick Ball (MT), but you can only play 1 of it.
Pokeball (DP) --- good in T2 decks after Quick Ball (MT), but Time Space Distortion (MT).
Energy Search--- could be useful but I like 4 Roseanne's a little better
Great Ball-- like it, but 4 Call Energy (MD) can be better since it's not a trainer and it grabs more basics
Pokedrawer + --- Haven't tried it but it looks promising although it could look like a dud like with
Pokeradar.........
Duskball an OK card, but I think Pokeball is slightly better than it in T2 decks.

Is it better than Pokeradar at least?

All these cards are reasonably good, but some could definitely be replaced by supporters.

Yes, they really are that good. Even as a 1-for-1 they're fine; who wouldn't want deck thinner? The search ability is just nuts, and they work really well in conjunction with Marley's. It's relatively rare that you'll get 2 in the first 2 or 3 turns before Claydol, but it's back-breaking if you do get it. The best part about it is that it's not a Supporter, so you can use draw like Felicity's or POV to dig for it, or search out other Supporters to use like Marley's, Wager, Roseanne's.

Look at it this way. Computer Search was broken, but you had to discard another card to use it, and you only got 1 card. You can't use this as often, but you get the same amount of cards out of it in the long run, and you can use it in a pinch to dig for something else.

So my guess is that it may be overrated in Modified a little bit just like Absol, but it's not bad.
It probably works well with Computer Search though (in Unlimited).

It looks like it's good, but maybe not as consistently good as Luxury Ball.

If you use pokemon like Bidoof (Diamond and Pearl) to get back trainers from your discard back to your hand and you have one already in your hand it could work as well as Furret's Keen Eye.
