I will say that since POP6, every single pack I earn at the league, I give it away to someone. I already have plenty of original versions, and I just don't want any reprints. I feel I will probably do the same with POP7.

I remember when I actually wanted to earn POP4/5 packs.

well put....did same with pop 6 as you

Oh no he didn't!

Well, yes he did, and I agree just a little, a wi smidge, that's all.

But the wizards part was wrong. I looked at the wording of my old Base Set cards. That wording is so confusing and a pain to understand.

guys when I said wizards did a better job, I was only refering to promo's. I thought alot/most of the wizard promos were clever choices.

I have liked some of POP's/PUI's choices for promos, but lately it's like a NooB is running the marketing department:lol:

While, I would like to see promos that arent playable for various reason, the main reason would be that there are hundreds of cards that could be printed in English that we havent seen. I would like to see them. There are more that you can even imagine. The fact that PUI/POP might be "handcuffed" on what they can print is most likely true. I think we should be happy we are getting something. I remember at league back when WOTC was running, that you had to do something special to get the promo, and the badge was really really hard to get. Also, the fact is you earned "tip stickers" not cards at the "promo spots" we have now. It has improved, there is only so much that POP/PUI can do.

In response to what I bolded, doesn't bulbasnore say the opposite here:

The 'modified' format as an OP practice is not mandated by PCL. I'm pretty confident that is true. I would guess that behind 'modified' is a brand marketing assessment about how sets should be released (and not re-released) profitably in conjunction with the entire management of the intellectual property outside Japan.

Am I just getting things mixed up, or what? Sorry if I am...

I wouldn't have a problem with a set full of reprints if it were a year/format later. That way when the cards go out of date we would have them again. Kind of like PK, but in a POP set.

OR is some of them were GOOD reprints

heck, I'd take back stock on switch/masterball/night maintenance

ANYTHING i can use

(although admittedly the galade and amparhose are cool)

Actually since POP 4 and POP 5 will go out this year, the re-prints from POP 6 and POP 7 will most likely go out along with DP1 to DP4 at next September

that's why i said that if we would of gotten this POP sets a year later, I would be a happy camper. As is I think it's bad management of this game, at least in the cards that are released part.

Btw, anyone notice that most of the cards are just mirrored versions of their old art.
They aren't even JPN promos for the most part...

That's what gets me the most.

Well the first cards of pop 7 have been listed on ebay. I can't understand how this happens when the next season has yet to start.......

pokemonmike,

though I don't know if this is the reason the seasons aren't perfectly alligned around the world. It is suspicious though that it is occuring just as the USA moves to POP7 :(

Only place I have ever seen get cards before USA is Japan. I personally don't care but it seems some people make their money before the actual cards are released.......

Thank you all for granting me a good hour of reading entertainment.
I'd also like to give a shout out to he who complained about the 4$ a Gallon price. We pay 1.5 € a Liter here. That is about 5 € a Gallon. And a € is 1.5$. So we pay 7.5$ a gallon. And you complain?

Now, as for Pop7; I wouldn't have minded a set filled with reprints of recent stuff...had there been at least ONE brand-new card in it. Or maybe the Bronzong-Mothim combo. Y'know, those promos.

A set filled with reprints isn't exactly my idea of inviting new players. You'd be surprised to see how many cards some of those smaller kids have 'round here when they just join the league.

Or perhaps we get zero say in what is in the set, and it's determined by a team responsible for ensuring that there are cards in sets that will help those sets sell, rather than giving the cards away.
Well it sounds like that team that is responsible for ensuring that there are "cards in the sets that will help those sets sell" needs to have some restructuring. As I've been saying for years, there are so many more cards that the Japanese have had released to them that we never had released to us in the USA. I am sure it's not TOO hard to get a translation and some printed cards released here. I know as a serious collector and a competitive player that I would be buying more blister packs that are sold at Target and Walmart if they had more and more exclusive cards in them, especially if they were exclusively released from Japan before getting into a set.

For what it's worth, I already have been buying such blister packs and promo tins just to collect the black star promo cards. So my money is going to PUI since SOME of that marketing ploy is working out in their favor. However that doesn't mean I buy all the different blister packs that come out. All the POP holo REPRINTS with the same art and attacks are pointless in my opinion. Just because it's the same exact card in holofoil doens't mean I will buy it. As for alternate art and holo, I've been buying those (since the black star DP promos are reprinted cards with alternate art with their own DIFFERENT SET NUMBER), but as for cards we have already had releaseed to us get re-released again only in a holo form is just not good enough, IMO.

Why doesn't this certain team use the same strategy that the Japanese are using when it comes to selling single RARE cards?? Starter EX/LV X decks are a huge example. Only lately has PUI gotten smart about selling alternate LV X art in the tins to cover for this, but that doesn't mean it covers everything. I went to Japan and bought many exclusive promo packs just because they had rare single promo cards that the USA never got and will more than likely never get. And all for the small price of 600 Yen (which was about $5 at that time this past summer)... Is it that hard for you guys to give us customers what we would like to have??? The majority of us customers are also parents with kids that play this game too! Even the kids want to see more, but then again, all kids want more of everything...

Afterall, look at the many requests/wants throughout this thread.... I know I'm not the only one with these requests here... :nonono:

Tired of this PoP sets?

Pop sets where rather good before, but now all they do is reprint cards, but they reprint cards that just came out. I know that some people are happy with the release of Gallade in pop7, since it is well played, the same happened with Lucario. I think we need some more action in the pop sets, POP could make a poll to decide number 17,...

Opinions?

POP doesn't have control in what is printed in the POP sets, ironically enough.
