I do not have access to That thread even though I assist our Local League Leader in many ways, so I have passed the link on to the Local League Leaders in the New England area. Thanks SD PokéMom

I would like to send out a big (and sarcastic) thank you to the individual(s) that felt it necessary to go to POP with the information that I opened some packs. If my league status had been revoked would you have felt good about your decision, knowing that there were kids who no longer had a league to play at?

Not for one moment did I realize the heap of trouble that this would bring when I posted the contents. I was genuinely trying to share new info with people here on the gym, people who would appreciate it, and not stroke my own ego (which is, frankly, the dumbest thing that I've read in some time). I was not aware of both the 'Gym's disclosure policy and POP's; now I am. Thank you (a serious one).

I am still relatively new to POP. Not having a car means that I don't make it to a lot of tourneys, etc, so POP for me and my league kids, is about as formal and serious as playing in the league once a week.

All in all, this was a learning experience, which is a good thing, as I love to learn. I learned that I need to read and re-read all contracts that I am bound to. I learned that other league leaders resist the temptation to open a pack when the new ones arrive. I learned that people older than 7 still tattle.

can we get back to how having another reprinted Pop set hurt his Meta game instead of discussing how posting the early scans was a bad thing to do. I think we've been through that enough by now, IMHO.

um, no one had to 'go to' POP with the info, as they read these boards _themselves_ all the time...

I bolded and itialized the 1 sentence here that is important. When you signed up to be a LL/LO, you clicked a button saying you understood and had read the rules involved. At least you didnt open up a ton of packs like someone in Ohio did and sold them on eBay. We all learn things everyday. Glad you understand now the importance of reading agreements that you agree to follow.

Good luck with your league.

my thought process is not so grand a jump in logic. self-discovery would sound like this: came to my attention.

the inference of "brought to my attention" likely indicates that it was done so via a second or third party.

You probably aren't aware of it because they have privacy turned on for their accounts, but there are 2 to 4 POP guys on the PokeGym forums at any given time during the day.

"I see OP people".

There is no need to alert them. You alerted them yourself. Or possibly one person in the office called out to another over the cubicle tops, "Hey, check out the POP7 topic on the 'Gym".

The only person I brought to their attention was the seller.
Basic reading skills probably took care of the rest.

See, this shouldnt of happened - Complete POP Series 7 Set - There is no reason that a week before release someone had enough packs to pull the entire set and list it on ebay.

JMO,
Drew

This is terrible... It has always taken me a while to pull the full set of anything the fastest set i got was pop 4.
Pop 1 and 2 it was hard to pull rares. (overly hard) by the time pop 3 came around I had 2/3 Celebi Ex but nothing else :(
Pop 6 was easy too i was missing Pikachu for a while though.

i think thats bullcrap that theyre on these boards all the time reading stuff and yet they dont bother posting stuff that would help us comprehend why they would do something like this and give us ANOTHER reprint set.
its all about money i soppose...
if it isnt cost effective, they arent going to really bother with it.

They are all under contract! I bet there are loads of things they'd like to say but can't.

Also even if the decisions are being made elsewhere the buck stops with POP. They aren't going to pass the buck and blame someone else.

With power comes responsibility (now everyone sing the spider pig song)

QFT!
Of course, Spider Pig wouldn't last long in the POP office.

"Mmmm, 8 ham hocks.... drooooollll"

Just because they make 2 reprint POP sets doens't mean you have to call it "bullcrap". Plenty of people, including myself, are perfectly happy with this. If it's so bad you can't stand it, then quit the game and quit posting on the 'Gym.

Everyone's entitled to their own opinion, but what an odd one! You'd rather have reprints of cards we already have than something like POP4/5? If I still went to league, I'd be frustrated at watching kids open packs of POP cards to get nothing more than stuff they already have. Okay, maybe they don't have those Gallades, but are they ever going to win a game with a deck structured like this: 39 Pokemon - 12 Energy - 9 Trainers? Aside from the whole "competitive" thing, I have a problem with sets like this because they generally don't help newer players who play at league.

I'm currently trying to get some new players into the game, and it's hard. I've had to give away tons and tons of good cards just so I can get them up to speed, and it's still difficult. The new players might be able to play at States this coming weekend, but they're all probably going to have entire decks borrowed from me. I used to have players ask me to help them build a deck, and they'd pull out some stuff they got at league. Two Rare Candy here -- awesome. A few Bill's Maintenance there -- great. I could pull together a decent deck for them to play so they didn't get massacred by the second turn in competitive play. Now it's something like this: a Pachirisu here -- oh no. Three Manaphy there -- oh gosh. I then pull out my own cards and give them away.

I'm not trying to single you out, but where are these people that are happy with these reprints? Where are these people that think that such "player rewards" are just fine? I know a lot of people could care less about the competitive scene, but for others... Flaffy and Wormadam reprints just aren't cutting it.

The game would be a lot better if POP studied how the Japanese do things, IMO. They still do a good job, but the game has potential to be a whole lot better.

EDIT: Wow, that was repetitive / broad. Here, I'll use an example: Put the alternate art reprints in the theme decks. Give people more reason to buy them, while clearing up the junk line for POP sets.

Dude, get over yourself. You'd freak if they put 18 LV.Xs in the next POP set, and you'd also know why...

And anyways, you think they want you to know that they're online watching you post? No, far from it, they want to catch you doing something wrong. Think of it like this, it's a everlasting STING opperation. There're under cover PUI Agents watching me post this right now, and I don't give a darn. You shouldn't either...

if you had said something like that to me in real life i would have puched you in the mouth.
dont you tell me to get over myself, that doesnt even make sense with what i had said, i'm at a lost for words of how stupid your first paragraph sounded.
get over myself? are you kidding me?

now it is so bad, but thats not enough for me to quit the game and the gym
it is bullcrap, and youre the only person i have seen that thinks that its a good thing that theyre reprinting old cards for another pop pack.

and no, i do not think that they are watching MY posts, but posts in general.
and they should have figured out last time when we found out what pop 6 was and everyone was complaining for them not to do it again.
and they did.
proving to me at least that they dont give a crap about stuff like that that isnt cost effective.

Q.T.F.
i completely agree with what you said.
these reprint packs are doing nothing to help the newer players.
if they were going to reprint cards to help newer players then they should do it with the stapple cards that are harder to get, like pachirisu, claydol, and good trainers.
not the whole gallade and ampharos lines that they can just get out of a starter deck or a few packs.
