Ps3 or Xbox 360?

Console debates become arguments become console wars because people are naturally biased and for some reason lose most of their capacity for rational thought when it's about game consoles.

G landers, what games do you like to play? Which console has the ones you want?

...

There, you just answered your own questions.

Well this is the no matter what its going to die thread lol really its all about peoles likes and donts like the differences are these;
Xbox 360 pros
Amazing titkes like left 4 dead 1,2 , halo series, gta liberty city stories , and much more
Amazing online features : facebook, twitter etc
Well built online community
Cheap prices for consoles

Cons
Monthly or yearly live cost
Has had the most system problems and breakdowns
Ps3 pros
Free live
Amazing titles ; god of war 3 ,killzone 2 ,metal gear solid 4,little big planet ,uncharted series
Low price that's reasonable
Rarley has had system failures
Truthfully that's all that the ps3 got

Cons
Small amount of ps3 exclusives
They copy a lot off of nintendo and microsoft

Nintendo wii
Very very cheap console
Great children games
Wifi free online
Family friendly
Rarley has sysytem failures

Cons
Barley any games for adults or young adults
Has 1000s of titles but half of them are cheesy

So looking at it I would say 369 has way better games than the 0s3 and wii
But the wii has a way better built systems with bairly and failures or problems
The ps3 has the cheapest live wich is free so in all its just really all up to the buyer so .

I have both and I would highly, highly recommend the Xbox 360. There are close to no issues with the new consoles (assuming you buy new) and the Xbox has the best games (ie., Gears of War, Halo, Forza, etc.) Plus, the multi platform games like Call of Duty, Borderlands, Fallout, all play better on the Xbox thanks to its superior network (the PSN is trash), I gladly pay for the $4 a month for Xbox Live and I purchase every multiplatform game for my Xbox because of its capabilities.
If you are an entertainment buff (like myself) you will want the PS3 because it does play BluRays and it does have some great titles. While the Xbox has more great games in numbers, Uncharted 2 and God of War are (will be for the latter) the best games I have ever played (assuming everything goes to plan on God of War III). Also, honestly, the PS3 controller is lame and not enjoyable to hold in comparison to the Xbox. The PS3 does offer more "goodies", but if you generally just like to game (casual or a lot) the Xbox 360 does it best.

P.S. to King of Magikarps: There are multiple sources that state many of the multiplatform games look better on the 360. Plus Gears of war is a beautiful game to look at, but I have to say Uncharted is the best looking game to date.

Just as a question, does either the PS3 or Xbox have any high-quality RPGs? If so, which system has better ones?

Well both systems share great multiplatform RPG's such as Fallout 3, Oblivion, and Dragon Age: Origins. The Xbox has a great exclusive called Fable that many fans adore (personally I am not a big RPG guy). Xbox is getting the Natal system addition next year which will make RPG's amazing on the Xbox. The PS3 sometimes offers free content for games such as Oblivion, but I think that is over now. The controller is much more fluid/natural on the Xbox. Between Natal, Fable, and the 360 controller, I would recommend the Xbox. A link below demos the Natal for RPG fans.

My parents have offered to buy one of these for me and my brother for xmas and I'm wondering which I should ask for so I'm turning to the opinion box that is the FES for advice. We've had a wii for a year or so but I can't remember the last time a decent game came out for it.

both share a great amount of cool fighting games like street fighter but RPG wise disgaea 3 is enough of a reason to get the ps3.

This may not be be an issue anymore, but Microsofts Customer Support is awful. When my 360 was bricked (RROD) I phoned twice. Both times I got a guy with possibly the thickest accent as well as no comprehension of what I was talking about (It took me about 30 minutes to fully explain what was wrong with my Console and another 15 to get the information I needed). When my PS2 bricked (I have ridiculously bad luck), I remember being on hold for 3/4 minutes but past that everything went smoothly. I think that's something to consider if you are split on which console to get.

I have had a 360 since it was released and had it red ring 4 times. Each time the phone call took 5 minutes and I had a new one in 2 weeks. Now they have new heat caps and the red ring is almost non-existent...plus I have a ton of friends that have had to deal with MS support and it went very smoothly. Sounds like you just were unlucky (like you said).

omg ms support is horrific lol when i called about an error code that crashed my box the 1st time i called (note i speak clear english no accents at all) the guy picks up ask for my name and i say it he says huh ? and puts me on another line that take 2 min to go through then i have to go through the stuff saying oh we dont know what exactly the problem is so you have to send it in for 90 dollars and we will try to fix it lol ya ... get the best insurence you can when you buy a new 360 lol so you dont have to go through stupid call from ms ...

Hard choice on what to do with wii!

I recently went to a gamecrazy with all my old games that i never played. Just to see how much i could get for em. Turns out, that they were having a 30% trade boost to all used games. So i had to take that deal. I ended up trading 12 games for a total of 93 bucks in store credit!

So i have had a wii for a long time and i have been meaning to sell it to get money to buy a new system, i have my eyes on a xbox360 and a 60$ game, wich totals out to 260. So i would need to get 167$ for selling my wii so that i could get what i want. Turns out that most game stores here buy wiis for 70 bucks. Wich is less than half of what i need. So i put it on craigslist. And within a day i get a few emails.

2 are spam, one is someone who is interested, but needs time to think, one is someone wanting to trade me for a pspGO and the last is someone who wants to trade me for a xbox360...

So i am thinking on weather or not to take the trade offer for the 360, but if i do, i wouldn't be using my 93$ of instore credit, i would not get the 12 free rentels that come with buying a new system from gamecrazy.

And i just called the guy that offered me the trade wii for 360 deal. He said he jsut bought it a year ago, and he just wants to get rid of it cause his girlfriend wants a wii and now he only uses the 360 for a dvd player. So if i take that option i could just use the instore credit for the game i want and have 33 bucks leftover for a live card or something.

I AM HAVING A HARD TIME DECIDING! Do a trade and have money leftover for a xbox live card, or wait for someone to give me cash for it and then buy the system from the store.

Tuff choice!

Oh, ok mods, you are right to move it.

If you're willing to sell the system online you probably should've sold the games that way, too - then you wouldn't even have the store credit dilemma and probably would've got more than the average $7.75 per game that you got.

I'd say go with the PS3. I would NOT want to get a 360. I was at WalMart yesterday and I saw a 360 in the case with 3RROD. I have pictures to prove it if you really don't believe me.
