Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

Resolved: Pokemon should replace cash scholarships with fitness equipment.

Qwachansey: Your suggestion was hilarious! I was just about ready to go and make me a Dialga deck.

One way we could incorporate my above idea is to give leagues supplies to host the runs. Say once a month a league is able to host a Pokemon sponsered run and they are give a timer, odometerwheel thing to measure the distance, and then the rare cards as prizes. Then they measure out the mile and time the runs of people the n give out prizes accordingly to age and time.

Now, how would I get this idea to POP?

We need a Bicycle rode themed challenge You have to ride a certain distance to face each opponent .You can never get off your bike, and at the end a random dude tells you he's been timing you the entire time without your consent.

Biggie (Smalls) is always watching.

And as for A_T's idea, I don't know. Seems rather difficult to organize and everything, although it is a nifty way to link the Video Game to the initiative. Plus I'm pretty sure Bicycle road was downhill, which would be very physically demanding.

So basically Pokemon will turn into yu-Gi-Oh 5 Ds?

It is a good idea but I doubt that it would work all too well.

Well, hopefully he takes note to this because that would be an awesome idea and I would feel really cool with coming up with that idea.

Get off the computer and on the treadmill, sheesh. But in all seriousness, this isn't about criticizing people for their weight. It's about illustrating negative habits and offering mental, physical, moral, and financial support for changing them!

If I wanted to mock the overweight I'd pay a script kiddy to redirect the home page to thisiswhyyourefat.com or something like that.

And the only thing I smoke is fools like you in the Pokemon card game.

What is wrong with you?

Someone came here telling a personal heartfelt story and that is how you respond?

Sorry... but you are either trolling or incredibly rude

Or standings and pairings are posted 1/4 mile away from the tables. Give some bite to the late penalty and stop all those nasty end of round overruns when players are tied.

1/4 mile is like a 2 min walk... surely at large events it already takes >2 mins to walk to standings and get back to your table?

The "get off the computer" was a bit of grim humor. However, I find your reaction a rather ludicrous interpretation of my post. It is in my eyes evident that he is not "fat" and is on the road to recovery, as he and I both know. A common means to conquer such ghosts is to make humor out of your situation -- like telling someone to "man up" after a terrible hacksaw accident (happened once in Scouts).

The lack of a reaction from Will-iam (who posted subsequently) makes me think that he accepted this bit of grim humor and you are a third party taking umbrage where it needn't be taken.

And the "smoke fools on the court" thing was to Amphy#1, referencing an anti-drug PSA.

I don't like it when people are rude or dismissive of someone's deep and personal issues. That "recovery" you speak off was by starvation and forced vomiting. Have compassion!

Will-iam said:
Though I'm only thin on the scale, the mirror still screams in silent mockery to me 'fatty fat fat!' my fatness caused me to be osterchised from peers this in turn made me schizophrenic in order to compensate for a lack of social life.

It wasn't until I became a member of the Pokegym did I start to branch out the process of all of this is hard and painful and now a thread like this comes along and reminds me of all the nightmares I had to go through.

Does that sound like comments like yours are harmless? Have consideration of others feelings

No one should feel like they're bullied because of their weight. Helped and encouraged, absolutely. But I wanted to give you the benefit of the doubt when making this thread - you've just lost mine

Actually, the recovery of which I speak is his branching out in venues such as the Pokegym to find new social interaction and acceptance (which he has and will certainly find from me). Please don't put words in my mouth.

Again, what you quoted was the trauma he experienced both when overweight and subsequently with the emotional damage he received as a victim of an eating disorder. I have the utmost compassion for what he suffered through, but because I expressed my compassion by attacking a straw man (the concept of him as obese which is, presumably, not true now, although granted bulimics can be obese, but bulimia is not consistent with what he posted as a diagnosis) you take exception.

He got the message, both of my joke AND the intent of this thread.

I acknowledge this thread is to promote health amongst players.

He feels that this thread is beneficial and positive. I feel that this thread is beneficial and positive. A pity you don't.

At worlds when I was trsying to get something to drink I'd pay more for a 0,5 bottle of water then for a 2l bottle of coke, and at subway etc they didnt even have water...

How about travel awards in the form of running shoes / swimming equipment?

Good for you! And both of those are acceptable prizes under the proposal, although I don't believe that swimming requires all that much "equipment."

But the issue is that we want all the Snorlax's and Munchlax's to play, and be introduced to new healthy options. So excluding them from OP (where they could win materials and equipment to lead a healthy lifestyle) seems to go against the intention of this resolution.

Although it would be a RIOT to see people running a mile up to deck-check while being clocked.

No, the requirement would motivate un-fit kids to get fit in order to play in OP! Then they win, and maintain fitness with their shiny new equipment.

Or, at the start of your turn, do 5 push-ups/ sit-ups to draw a card! XD

A less extreme and far more fun variant here would be to have all games being played standing up at a counter or similar height. You'd be surprised at how many calories you burn just standing rather than sitting...

If you want this to be treated seriously, then fine, here:

It is horribly, horribly dangerous for children to be near moving exercise machines, and any adolescent who is still going through, or a child who hasn't yet gone through puberty should not participate in anaerobic exercise, and ought not to put the stress on their joints of high-intensity aerobic exercise. It can damage growing tissue and prevent it from developing normally.

So, there.

Plus, I think Cheerleader's chant will be seeing an edit:
You must perform jumping jacks to use.

This is a good and important concern to be raised!

Can you explain what limitations (other than safety) are at play here?

I mean, kids as young as 12-13 can play football for their middle school.

That is true but that would not impair them from running a mile once a month at their local league.

Yeah, I mean, it's not like we're talkin' about breaking bad on a Bowflex machine.

prodigal_fanboy is just saying that we should be supporting healthy habits, however they are achieved.
