i (suprisingly) dont see this update as all that bad. yea it sucks but there have been worse.
such as past items and all the megavelocibot named (which i wouldnt be to suprised if they acctually updated with those).
i like that you can toggle the tap up on the control stick to make you jump or not, making it easier to do up tilts.

At least we have something kinda good:

He is the mainstay who has built Nintendo sound since the days of Game & Watch: Hirokazu Tanaka. He wasn’t included on the list of musicians until now, but he secretly joined the fray!
And then there’s this arrangement of the original Donkey Kong theme. It has gone in the direction of the unexpected, becoming completely different from the work of the other musicians.

I can't believe you people hated the controls announcement. Customizable controls, disabling tap-jump, and shake smash was an awesome announcement.

I won't defend wide-screen, but at least it had awesome DK music to go with it.

EDIT: I wonder if shake smash includes shake aerial attacks.

Since the game Mario and Sonic at the Olympic Games is out, I bet there's a Mario Vs. Sonic event battle. I also won't be surprised if there's a Pikachu Vs. Pokemon Trainer battle. "Pikachu Revolts."
