ALSO GREAT NEWS ANOTHER GAUNTLET ALREADY O_O' i was at NYCLAN YESTERDAY ^_^ i'm in the halo league i also play that very competitive .. but anyway the staff of nyclan said that it was said on friday night that its scheduled for march 10th ... unless changed thats the date ^_^ so yea ............... i played ken and mana yesterday
i dont ever wanna play kens marth or manas falco
but i wanna play kens fox tho
me and my friends beat ken and his sister in a team match (his sisters pretty good tho)
my 2 friends took 4th place in teams at after beating mana and kira in teams XD

I thought you said 'it's easier to dodge a Falco SHL'ing in place rather than a Falco SHL'ing while moving.'
Ground lasers are faster; people just use SHL because you can approach with it and it doesn't lag. You should fulljump over ground-lasers into fair -> grab if it's bothering you.

Marth is your best char and to be honest, I need to practice more against Marths (I do think my Falcon > your Marth no matter what happened yesterday) but I want to play your Marth with Falco. Pillaring Marth is actually REALLY easy; and you've yet to beat my Falco so ha. xP
Also I beat the crap out of Jaden like 3 times in a row after you left, I even 3 (out of 3) stocked his Peach at Yoshi's which shut him up haha. The only stage he can beat me at is FD and he makes it sound like he's gonna get FD EVERY match of EVERY tourney, which is dead wrong. Falcon gets owned by Peach on FD cuz of chaingrab, on other stages it isn't nearly as hard to combo ESPECIALLY with platforms. =)
Also nice job viet, take it to ken (& sisters XD). How'd you do in singles with them? Mana's Falco *****. ;o

that match was a friendly XD
but in the actual tourney, got beaten by neals ICs (i cant play ICs or Jiggs) and i got taken out my friends CF (i didnt feel like going falco against him 3rd round so i lost)
in doubles, my friends and I lost to mana and kira and then lost to my 2 friends who got 4th and beat mana and kira but lost to DSF and DC
but its was cool, since i got a whole bunch of friendlies in

Though, speaking of the Falco laser thing, and something I was able to do but highly inconsistently while dodging them, I do have one question (just when you thought Marril was a know-it-all who has every minutia of the game memorized)... is there any specific timing to power shield reflect something?
Ground lasers are amazingly easy to dodge (they lag, too) with a simple fulljump. If you actually SHL fast enough you can rack 20% on the average high-tier character before they come close to you. It also sets up for a dair, which results in pillaring.

No. I'm just saying that, if Falco's standing away from you shooting at you, with nobody trying to close the distance, it's harder to dodge simply mashing the B button on the ground compared to when Falco's shffing the things.

well it is harder to dodge ground lasers if youre across FD
otherwie just jump above any SHLing falcos and attack them (like with marth)

lol yeah, it's pretty much what tag said. Every character has it different too because their shield sizes are different. Mr. G&W has a hard time reflecting unless his shield hasn't been hit at all; his shield is the smallest in the game, I think.
It is, but ground lasers don't stop jumps at all and fulljumped sex kicks would just own you. Ground lasers do tend to get about 3-4 hits but SHL actually stops them from fulljumping in front of you hence they're much better; you also don't suffer lag and you can approach with them. Lasers are probably Falco's best move, without them he's so similar to many other characters.
EDIT: haha Brian but you didn't beat my Falco that day. =P My Falco got a lot better, I know how to avoid shieldgrabbing and other stuff now. I'm going to sleep, later~

I dunno, it must take some skill, as I haven't bothered to practice it at all (I don't like playing as Falco) and I can't use it to save my life.
It really is painful when I whiff Counter on Falco though... usually I only use it when I know it's going to hit, but on the odd instance it misses... pain. I really wish Marth had an aerial c-c-c-combo breaker but alas he doesn't have one that helps very much.

Lol. You're not the only 1 who hates insufficient Falcos Tag. I got cheaped out by one recently actually. But his lack of skill killed him in the long run, as he got 2 kills and only 15 or 16% on me after which he died. Yawn, bored again. I keep downing my friends Stephen and Trevor. Trev uses Yoshi and Fox, whereas Stephen uses Falco (he's the "cheap" Falco I was complaining about earlier.) and now there's almost no competition out here. Someone save me, it's Illinois! The state that lacks any decent Melee players!!! :nonono:

A single grab on Falco can lead to death, and shdoublefair into shfairdair is good on practically any character; one of THE best aerial kill combos in the game... only overshadowed by say, CF's.
Marth seriously has a top-tier aerial game, for you to deny that is ****ing stupid. I'm sorry if I'm rude but at this point, I'm kind of amazed by your claims.
