The only thing T-Tar really has to "fear" or "dodge" is not getting to setup.
If a good or even decent T-Tar list can get setup, then it does pretty well against almost anything.
Nothing in the format can compete with it's damage output or HP without having to level up.
Users like "aperson" who run their mouth about how ttar gets beatdown by weakness or isn't good are completely ignoring truth. Wanna know why we didn't see many ttars in rop cuts? Barely anyone is playing it and most of the people who are playing it aren't playing it right. Absol, Blissey, Darkrai, etc all slow the deck down to where it can't compete with the meta. Those ttar variants aren't that good, but the ones that power up by T3 and recover quickly (yes, like my "super cool" one) are still very strong decks. Every deck has a tough matchup or two, so writing off ttar because Machamp/Rampardos and possibly hippowdon are around is foolish. If that's the case, write off SP decks because of machamp, write off gengar and / or Dusknoir because of T-Tar, write off Machamp thanks to GG or AMU, write off Dialga G thanks to Flygon, etc.
The points that people make as why T-Tar isn't viable are the same points that make ANY deck not viable..."NO UR DEKK SUX THERZ A COUNTER." A smart player can tech against and work with their deck enough to overcome tough matchups and still do well. Rather than pointing out that a certain deck has a couple bad matchups, point out how to give the deck an edge over them.
Tyranitar is still a good deck choice if you have a solid build and know it well. I wouldn't recomend throwing something together and hoping it works like some people say.
