The next format is HL-on

We haven't always had the same Modified as them in the past. People seem to forget that even though I have said it like four times.

I think the whole Life Herb reason is rediculous. To back up my arguement: In the Cym Challenge set, they included all 6 basic energy cards, then in the Gym Heros set, all the basic energy were included again. Did they make the rotation cut-off in between these two sets? No. The rotation cut-off was after BOTH of them.

They might had been thinking to cut it off at HL, so as a precaution, they reprinted Life Herb. I don't think they could had possible known what the TCG was going to look like in one year.

Or, they could had reprinted it because they felt like it.

i doubt they would reprint life herb like that just to keep it in rotation if it really is going to be FRLG on and not reprint more cards from HL, but there isnt really any other apparent reason to have reprinted it. somebody was probably just like "hey, why dont we reprint life herb to make everyone think its going to be FRLG on?"

I honestly think it could go either way, there's evidence supporting both sides... so there's no purpose in debating.

We'll see soon enough.

Flaming_Spinach - If you can come up with an example newer than old, old, old school, then it would be able to favor your opinion better. Here are some examples of when they have reprinted a card, it meant the other form of it was going to be rotated out.

- Double Rainbow Energy was reprinted in EX: Emerald because it's only other form, in EX: Team Aqua/Team Magma was pretty much guaranteed to be rotated out.
- Lanette's Net Search was reprinted in EX: Emerald because it's only other form, in EX: Sandstorm was pretty much guaranteed to be rotated out.
- Wally's Training was reprinted in EX: Emerald because it's only other form, in EX: Sandstorm was pretty much guaranteed to be rotated out.
- Rare Candy was reprinted in EX: Emerald because it's only other form, in EX: Sandstorm was pretty much guaranteed to be rotated out.
- Oran Berry was reprinted in EX: Emerald because it's only other form, in EX: Ruby and Sapphire was pretty much guaranteed to be rotated out.
- Lum Berry was reprinted in EX: Emerald because it's only other form, in EX: Ruby and Sapphire was pretty much guaranteed to be rotated out.
- PokeNav was reprinted in EX: Emerald because it's only other form, in EX: Ruby and Sapphire was pretty much guaranteed to be rotated out.
- Double Full Heal was reprinted in EX: Emerald because it's only other form, in EX: Sandstorm was pretty much guaranteed to be rotated out.
- Professor Birch was reprinted in EX: Emerald because it's only other form, in EX: Ruby and Sapphire was pretty much guaranteed to be rotated out.
- Balloon Berry was reprinted in EX: Deoxys because it's only other form, in EX: Dragons was pretty much guaranteed to be rotated out.
- Lady Outing was reprinted in EX: Deoxys because it's only other form, in EX: Ruby and Sapphire was pretty much guaranteed to be rotated out.
- Strength Charm was reprinted in EX: Deoxys because it's only other form, in EX: Team Aqua/Team Magma was pretty much guaranteed to be rotated out.
- Energy Removal 2 was reprinted in EX: Fire Red/Leaf Green because it's only other form, in EX: Ruby and Sapphire was pretty much guaranteed to be rotated out.
- Energy Switch was reprinted in EX: Fire Red/Leaf Green because it's only other form, in EX: Ruby and Sapphire was pretty much guaranteed to be rotated out.
- Poke-Ball was reprinted in EX: Fire Red/Leaf Green because it's only other form, in EX: Ruby and Sapphire was pretty much guaranteed to be rotated out.
- Pokemon Reversal was reprinted in EX: Fire Red/Leaf Green because it's only other form, in EX: Ruby and Sapphire was pretty much guaranteed to be rotated out.
- Potion was reprinted in EX: Fire Red/Leaf Green because it's only other form, in EX: Ruby and Sapphire was pretty much guaranteed to be rotated out.
- Switch was reprinted in EX: Fire Red/Leaf Green because it's only other form, in EX: Ruby and Sapphire was pretty much guaranteed to be rotated out.

As you can see, in most examples, cards that had been reprinted were because the older forms of it were going to or already were rotated out of the modified. Your one example that isn't relative to current times doesn't even scratch the life herb theory.

Yet only one card has been reprinted from HL.

@ryanvergel: There is no evidence supporting FRLG on. No official has told over a dozen people that it will be FRLG on.

That's just what it is though, a thoery. The one time I quoted is the ONLY time (outside of Life Herb) that the EXACT SAME card(s) have been in two consecutive sets.

My point is: just because a card is printed twice, that does not indicate ANYTHING about how the rotation will coinside with the reprinting of that card.

That is absolutely correct. All I am doing is looking at patterns and forecasting the future. If something has fallen on a path of patterns, it usually stays on that path unless something drastically forces it off of it. There has been a pattern of reprinting a card that will either rotate out soon or have already rotated out. If I was a betting man, I would put my money on the patterns.

Although I should point out that these are just my opinions and I'm not trying to say that the format will be FRLG-on, but that it makes more sense for the format to be FRLG-on.

I believe it will be FRLG-on, not Basic Energy only. What a stupid idea. It must take someone seriously stupid to suggest such a thing. Go to your room.
