The Rage of Evolution

Happy Day! Next chapter here! The updated info on Jessica should be up really soon. Here we go...

Chapter Five

Silph Co.-Saffron City-Johto Region

Tyler’s Father sighed as he flopped into his chair. He had almost had to talk to one of the other workers on the way to his cubicle. If he had been stopped by someone, he was sure he would have embarrassed himself in some way. He turned his computer on and flopped the newspaper on his desk. It had headlines such as: “Nevanown supposedly sighted” and “Increasing acts of thievery and violence: a new gang group?” Tyler’s father sighed again as he skimmed the front page. At least he was away from the other employees.

“Hey Greg!”

Tyler’s father jumped, almost tipping the chair over, and looked around. Standing in the doorway was a woman of medium height and had brown hair and eyes. “There goes my chance to be alone,” He thought.

“Don’t scare me like that, Danielle!” he said. He was sure that he had almost had a heart attack. It was almost as bad as when Tyler did to him.

“Oh don’t be so tightly wound. You wouldn’t get frightened as easily,” Danielle said as she came in and sat on the edge of Greg’s desk, “You seem even more tense and nervous than usual. What’s going on?” Danielle was one of Greg’s only friends. He had met her twenty-three years earlier when Team Rocket, a dangerous crime group, had taken over Silph Co. and trapped everyone inside the building. She had stood next to him as he almost fainted, he was so scared. She was also the voice of normality that helped him in all situations that involved other people.

“It’s Tyler,” Greg said sighing again.

“What’s wrong? Is he sick or hurt?” she asked, putting her hand on his shoulder.

“No, he’s in a completely region!” Greg said throwing his arms up.

“What!” Danielle said shocked, “You let him go!”

“Yes,” he said grudgingly.

“I am so proud of you!” she exclaimed, giving him a hug, “I can’t believe you did it! This is exactly what I mean when I say you should be looser. So where is he?”

“Somewhere in the Sinnoh Region,” he said sighing once again. “I have really been sighing a lot this morning,” he thought.

There was a pause, and then she said gently, “I’m sure he’s fine.”

Route 204 to Floraroma Town- Sinnoh Region

“Porygon use Signal Beam!” Tyler shouted.

“Use Iron Defense, Clampearl!” Jessica yelled back.

Porygon released a multicolored beam of energy that hit Clampearl, but did little damage. Clampearl then opened its shell and shot a stream of water at Porygon. Porygon falls back as the attack hit him, and then rushed forward toward the mollusk.

“Now use Psybeam!” Tyler commanded. Porygon complied and hit Clampearl before it could shut its shell again. Clampearl flipped backwards from the attack and then shut its shell, waiting for its next orders.

“You can do this Clampearl! Use your Clamp attack!” Jessica said to her Pokemon. The clam hopped forward and shut its shell on Porygon as though it was trying to bite its enemy in half. The extra weight dragged Porygon to the ground from its levitating position.

“Get rid of it Porygon! Use Agility!” Tyler yelled. He could see that if Porygon didn’t get rid of Clampearl soon, it would faint it right there. Porygon sluggishly spun a circle and then started zooming across the battlefield, going random directions and turning sharply. Unfortunately, it was not enough to get rid of the opponent and Porygon fell back to the ground, defeated.

“Ha! I win!” Jessica said, returning her Pokemon. After his loss at the Gym in Canalave, Tyler wanted to work on his battle strategy. Unfortunately, it wasn’t going well, “So what is the score now? 10 – 0 or something?”

“Yeah, so what,” Tyler said grumpily, returning his own fainted Pokemon.

“Hey, at least your getting closer to beating me! Even if you never do, it’s still good experience for your Pokemon.”

“Yeah, whatever,” Tyler said, picking up his pack and heading back out onto the path.

Any further encouragement from Jessica was drowned as a screech of terror filled the air. Tyler and Jessica glanced at each other and ran to the other side of the path and into the trees beyond. They stopped behind a wall of vegetation from where the sounds of a struggle were coming from. They both crept forward and peeked through the leaves and branches and saw two Pokemon struggling on the ground. One of them was a small blue Pokemon that looked a lot like a lion cub. The other was a big grayish-brown bug Pokemon with two huge spiked pinchers on the top of its head. The strange thing was that the bug Pokemon had a net and was trying to throw it over the blue Pokemon.

Tyler put a hand on Scyther’s Pokeball, but Jessica’s hand came down and stopped him from throwing it. Tyler threw her a puzzled looked and motioned with her head to a man standing close to the Pokemon. He was dressed in black pants and shirt, white gloves and boots, and a black hat. On the front of his shirt was a large Red “R”. Tyler was sure he had seen something like that uniform in one of his History classes, but he really didn’t like the subject, so he had never paid that much attention.

By this time, the bug Pokemon had successfully trapped the smaller Pokemon in the net and held it up for the man to see.

“Good job, Pinsir!” The man said walking over and taking the net from his Pokemon, “One more pitiful Pokemon for those scientists to experiment on.” He looked around and then said, “Come on; let’s get back to the others.” With that, he turned and walked away, his Pokemon following.

“Let’s following them,” Jessica whispered inching forward in the bushes.

“Who is that guy?” Tyler said, following Jessica as she crept after the man and Pokemon.

“I don’t know, but I plan on finding out,” she said. They followed the man, never losing sight of him but never being seen. The man and his Pokemon crashed through the foliage loud enough that Jessica and Tyler didn’t have to be overly careful about how loud they were. Soon the man left the woods and went into a large clearing. Tyler gasped as he saw the clearing.

There were about ten men dressed the same way that the man with the Pincer was. There was also an open topped moving truck covered with hundreds of cages. In almost every cage, there was some random Pokemon. A couple of men were struggling to lift the unconscious form of a blue and black Pokemon that looked a lot like the cub held by the man they followed. In the middle of it all, there was a man that was ordering the others around. He was wearing a black shirt with white sleeves that disappeared under his black gloves. His pants were black and had Red R’s down the sides. His boots were white and he also had Red A’s at the top of each of his sleeves’ by the shoulder. He wore no hat and had brown hair cropped short.

Standing beside him was a Pokemon that looked very similar to the Pokemon called Pinsir. It was slightly larger and was a black instead of brown. The giant pinchers on its head had changed to look like a pair of jaws with large horns pointing at the other half of the jaw. When opened, they could see that the jaws were lined with teeth. It was obviously its mouth. The creature’s eyes glared at anyone who got near to the man.

“That man must be the one in charge,” Tyler whispered.

“Thank you Captain Obvious,” whispered Jessica, “Come on.” With that she backed up away from the clearing so they would not be overheard. “All right, this is what we’re going to do…”

Admin. Andrew was not pleased. Not only had they not found many different breeds of Pokemon, they had only found one that was even above fifteen. He knew this wasn’t go over overly well with the Boss.

He shivered at the thought and shifted his mind from such depressing matters. He looked over to see some idiot putting a overly small Shinx cub into an extra-large cage.

“Hey Tauros Droppings!” he yelled at the man, who jumped around to attention, dropping the Shinx in the process. He then proceeded to fall to the ground, trying to grab it. The blue Pokemon though, was too fast for him and ran in Andrew’s direction. Andrew snapped his fingers and his Pokemon moved forward and grabbed the Pokemon, which squirmed and tried to free itself from the shelled hand that held it. His Pokemon, Creadle, held the Pokemon above its jaws and snapped them closed, shearing off the fur from the top of the Shinx’s head. The Shinx instantly went still, except for the tremors of fear that wracked its small body.

The Admin. smiled. Fear, in his opinion, was the best influence for anyone of thing. It helped one to get things done much easier. Creadle then proceeded to walk over to the truck and flung the poor creature into a small cage.

Andrew turned back to the man who was still on the ground. His eyes were wide with fear. “I have something to tell you, Grunt,” Andrew said to the man, who flinched when he started speaking, “Small Pokemon go in small cages. Large Pokemon go in large cages. And also, never drop the merchandise.” With that, the Adamant snapped his fingers again and Creadle grabbed the back of the man’s shirt and dragged him over to the van.

“Wait! What are doing?” the grunt screamed as Adamant Andrew turned his back to the Van. The man kept blubbering even after Andrew heard the cage door shut. He then heard a second door swing closed and turned to see that the man’s Pinsir was in a cage also. He grunted and turned back around to see three men stop to watch. When they saw him look at them they averted their gaze and kept working. “Fear,” He thought, “It works so well.”

Any further thought were dispersed as he heard a low rumble that grew louder by the second. He turned in a circle, looking for the source, when he spotted something over the top of the trees to the east. A huge red head with two rows of razor sharp teeth floated toward the valley. Huge billows of black smoke floated through the trees, and behind the creature. It stopped and looked strait at the Adamant. It the opened it’s jaws and let loose an earth shaking roar.

“Monster!” a man shouted, and distracted Andrew. He glanced to the side to see his men backing away from the abomination, some turning and running for their lives.

“Come back and fight you cowards!” Andrew shouted at the fleeing men. His eyes caught sight of the Grunt he had just put in a cage, wailing and trying to break the door of his cage open, so he could run like the other’s had. As the last of his men ran away, he turned back to face the creature, cold sweat running down his neck.

Jessica believed her plan was quite ingenious. She had her Ralts project the image of a legendary Pokemon from the Hoenn. Tyler’s Porygon produced all needed sound effects and his Cyndaquil created the smoke. Unfortunately, her Ralts wasn’t strong enough to make a complete image, so it only got to the neck of the creature.

When they got into the clearing, Jessica was dismayed to see that the boss of the other men was still there. Along with one man stuck into one of the cages. She didn’t know what to make of that. One other thing that she wasn’t happy to see was the man’s strange Pokemon was still by his side.

Oh, well, she thought, we can still take him.

To Tyler she said, “That’s enough.” With that their Pokemon stopped their actions and the creature flickered and dissolved into nothingness. The man jumped slightly as the image disappeared and then anger covered his face, and he spit at them, “I was fooled by that! It was only a couple of kids with their weak Pokemon!” He then turned to his Pokemon and roared, “Take out those inferiors, Creadle!” His Pokemon ran forward on its hind legs until it picked up speed and then jumped into the air aiming at Porygon, jaws wide. Porygon, still weak from the earlier practice battle was unable to dodge as the creature and was grabbed by the massive jaws. Sadly, Porygon was held for only a few seconds before it was knocked unconscious.

“No!” Tyler gasped. Jessica, unaffected, yelled to her own Pokemon, “Ralts, use Teleport and then Confusion!”

As Creadle tossed Porygon to the side, Ralts, the small humanoid with green hair, disappeared and instantly reappeared behind Creadle and sent a purple amorphous blob at Creadle’s back. That attack dissipated and dissolved on contact to the Black shell of the Pokemon.

Great, Jessica thought, the thing is part dark type! I can’t hurt it with psychic attacks!

“Tyler!” He looked up from putting Porygon’s Pokeball on his belt, “I can’t hurt it with psychic attacks! Distract it for a little bit!” He nodded to her and ordered his Cyndaquil forward. Jessica returned Ralts quickly and pulled Clampearl’s Pokeball from her belt. “Let’s beat this guy into next year, Clampearl!”

“Use your Quick Attack, Cyndaquil!” Tyler yelled as Creadle lunged at his Pokemon. Cyndaquil moved extremely fast and struck the bug on the back, knocking it to the ground. “Now use Ember!” Cyndaquil breathed flames severely damaging the Bug type.

“Blast it, you idiot!” The man spluttered, “You’re supposed to be stronger with your new evolution! Destroy them!”

Tucking away what the man had said into his mind for later, Tyler attacked the creature again. Jessica’s Clampearl had managed to clamp itself over the creatures own jaws, immobilizing it with its weight. It tried to free itself of the clam by opening it’s jaws but to no avail. Cyndaquil burned the creature again, and then it fainted from exhaustion.

The man cursed, returning his defeated Pokemon. Tyler was preoccupied by what he said by his Pokemon. Cyndaquil had turned into energy again, but this time it was white and it regained its shape for an instant before elongating and changing shape until it returned to a creature. It had grown a couple of ears and looked a lot like Cyndaquil besides the fact that it was larger and had a separate fire on top of its head.

“Quilava!” the new creature yelled defiantly.

“Congratulations, your Cyndaquil has evolved into Quilava, the Volcano Pokemon,” Tyler’s Pokedex rattled off from his bag.

“Awesome!” Tyler exclaimed, punching the air.

“No time to celebrate,” Jessica cautioned as the man sent out two separate Pokemon. The first was a yellow Pokemon that resembled a bee, except for the two lance-like stingers that it had for arms. The second was a large blue bat with a gaping mouth and small wings.

“Beedrill! Use Twineedle on the clam! Golbat! Use Air Cutter on the rodent!”

The Pokemon rushed forward and Jessica and Tyler attacked the Pokemon back. At one point, Clampearl fainted and was switched back out for Ralts. Soon, the opposing Pokemon lay on the ground, defeated.

At this point, the man cursed again, and ran off after returning his fallen Pokemon. Suddenly, Ralts underwent a similar change as Quilava, and when the light faded, its new form was revealed. The new Pokemon had grown in height and its hair had grown to look like two pony tails on the sides of its head. The baggy clothing it had used to wear changed to the shape of a tutu. This revealed that the Pokemon had green legs.

“Congratulations, your Ralts has evolved into Kirlia, the Emotion Pokemon.” The Pokedex said.

“About time!” Jessica said, “Come on, let’s free these Pokemon.”

Together, Jessica and Tyler opened the cages of all the Pokemon and they soon ran off into the surrounding woods. When they got to the cage with the man in it, the left him there. “You deserve it, treating these Pokemon this way!” Jessica scolded.

After they were done Tyler turned to Jessica and said, “You know, I still don’t know who these guys are.”

“I can answer that question.”

They jumped around to see that the man from earlier had returned with the rest of his men.

“I am Administrator Andrew of the fear-inducing Team Rocket! Prepare to be destroyed!” With that, he swung his hand forward and all of the Grunt’s Pokemon rushed forward, unleashing various attacks.

Extra: The two Fakemon have appeared! You can find them at this sight http://scixarite.deviantart.com/ as it was said at the end of the last chapter

More details!!! Battles are when you can get *really* creative with your descriptions! You really don't need to create new Pokemon in order to make the story or the writing more interesting. Just create new battle strategies and ideas. Also, don't be so quick to evolve the Pokemon. There are times when you will wish that you had the smaller Pokemon still around. Heck, even though I *really* want to write Gardy, I doubt I'll be having Ralts evolve at any point in my fanfic. It's just not in her nature to evolve until she's completely ready. Give your Pokemon personalities. Show them off. To me, the most interesting part of a story is the characters and how they're portrayed. And the more details I can find about them, the more interested I am in the story.

Hmm... Your right Bullados. I have just written the extended Jessica description paragraph. I am editing it into the story....now!

Underneath the food she was now wearing, she was wearing a very large, baggy pair of black pants. Her shirt was pink with a disorderly chain of black hearts from her left shoulder to her right hip. The shirt was also small enough to show off her belly button. On her right forearm, she had two black bands. And from what Tyler could see under her giant pants, she was wearing pink shoes. Her hair was pitch black hung around her face in straight curtains. Her eyes were also as dark as her hair.

^You probably shouldn't put a description in a post. Edit it in to the part where you're describing her. I had to do that for one of my parts when I was skimpy on detail.

pikamaster- I posted the paragraph where it goes in the story and as a new post at the bottom to let lazy people read it without having to run through the whole story to fine it. Cheers!

Here we go, Chapter Six!

Chapter Six

Route 204 to Floraroma Town-Sinnoh Region

“Scyther! Use Slash! Quilava, use Ember!”

“Kirlia, help them out with Confusion!”

Tyler and Jessica’s Pokemon raged forward, attacking the ten Pokemon attacking them. The opposing Pokemon had all been mostly low leveled, but they made up for that with the fact that there was so many. After Admin. Andrew had returned with his Grunts, Tyler had sent out his second Pokemon and had been fighting with both of them, while Jessica fought with her single, remaining Pokemon. The number of opposing Pokemon had been reduced to half of what it had been, but Tyler and Jessica’s Pokemon were getting tired.

“Quilava watch out!” Tyler shouted as a small purple bat with a stinger-like tail flew behind his Pokemon. Quilava turned, spewing flames, knocking the Pokemon back, only to be hit in the back by a small brown armadillo. The green fire type Pokemon fell to the ground defeated. “No!” Tyler yelled. His other Pokemon, Scyther, rushed forward and quickly knocked out both of the other Pokemon.

“Destroy them!” Andrew yelled, from behind where the Grunts ordered their Pokemon. “They cannot win!”

“Teleport!” Jessica commanded. Her Pokemon, Kirlia, disappeared, reappearing farther off, and shot an amorphous blob of energy at the purple rat that chased it. The battle raged on for a few more minutes until Scyther failed to dodge a rock type attack and was knocked out.

Shoot! Tyler thought, there goes my last Pokemon! Oh, wait…

Tyler grimaced and pulled out his last Pokeball, “Go Shellos!” The small blue slug appeared. Five seconds later, it was knocked unconscious.

“Jessica!” Tyler called as returned his fallen Pokemon, “I’m out of Pokemon!”

“What!” she called back, turning to face him, “You’re what!” As she turned, two dark type Pokemon attacked Kirlia. She was knocked out before she hit the ground. “Shoot!” Jessica said turning back around. She returned her Pokemon and found herself without any more Pokemon, also. “Not good.”

“Halt the attack!” The opposing Pokemon, the seven that remained, backed up, but stayed ready to keep fighting at any moment. Andrew walked forward and began speaking, “I see that you are out of Pokemon. Surrender and you will not be punished that badly. If you refuse, it will only be that much worse for you.”

“We will never surrender!” Jessica yelled at him, defiantly.

“Then you shall be crushed,” he said smiling, “Grab them both and take their Pokemon!”

“Luuuuuuuuuuuuuuuux!”
Every Pokemon and human turned as the first cry was joined by other cries. Not all the cries were the same, but of several different kinds of Pokemon. Suddenly, a giant mass of Pokemon, led by the large Pokemon that resembled Shinx, rushed into the clearing from behind where Tyler and Jessica stood. As they rushed forward, Tyler grabbed Jessica and pulled out of the way as the mass of Pokemon crashed into the seven remaining Pokemon owned by the Grunts.

Pokemon rushed everywhere. Grunts ran, trying to escape the mass of attacking Pokemon. The Pokemon quickly wiped out the Grunt’s Pokemon and chased the Grunts off, into the woods. The howls of men and Pokemon could be heard from the trees as the group rushed farther and farther away.

Tyler and Jessica got to their feet to see that one of the men hadn’t been able to escape into the trees. Jessica stamped over and grabbed the mans shirt pulling him up of the ground, shouting, “Who are you guys?”

The man had many scratches and cuts from the hoard of Pokemon. He looked around blearily until he focused on Jessica and flinched back from her anger. “Well?” she said.

“We are Team Rocked Grunts,” he mumbled.

“What were you doing with those Pokemon?”

“We were gathering them for the boss’s scientists.”

“Who is your boss?”

The man shivered and went limp. Jessica was sure the man had looked positively scared before he fainted. She almost felt sorry for him. Almost.

“We aren’t going to be able to get any more information from him, let’s go,” Jessica said standing up. She looked at Tyler to find him looking at the Team Rocket Grunt with a blank expression on his face.

“We barely escaped,” he mumbled.

“Come on,” Jessica said, grabbing him, “Snap out of it, we need to get out here. Those other Pokemon may come back at any time. They really didn’t seem to care who they attacked.” With that she dragged Tyler into the woods in the opposite direction that the Pokemon had gone.

Floraroma Town

“There it is!” Jessica panted. She and Tyler had been running non-stop since they had left the clearing.

“Can we stop and rest now?” Tyler called up to Jessica. He was much less athletic and he was out of breath after only a few minutes. By now, he felt as though he would pass out. Jessica slowed to a walk and Tyler stopped and fell to his knees, proceeding to fall face first into the dusty road.

“Tyler?” Jessica asked turning around, “Are you all right?” He rolled over to his back and waved his arm uselessly. He was breathing to hard to respond verbally. “Well, come on then,” She said and started walking toward the town again, “We’re almost there.”

Tyler picked himself up and trudged after Jessica. They soon reached the edge of the town. From there, he followed Jessica to a house that Tyler guessed was her aunt and uncle’s home. Jessica knocked on the door and after a few seconds, the door opened revealing a small boy that was probably around three.

“Jessica!” he squealed running out and hugging her legs.

“Hey there, Logan!” she said, patting him on the top of his head.

A woman’s voice from inside the house called, “Logan? Who’s at the door?”

“It’s me, Julie!” Jessica called back as Logan pulled her into the house, babbling on about some cool toy he just gotten. Tyler followed them in, feeling awkward.

“Jessica? It’s about time you arrived, I expected you here yesterday, what held you up?” a woman-Tyler supposed- said walking into the front room to see them. She was younger than his father but she still stood taller than his father but shorter than him. She had black hair just like Jessica and had a pair of care-worn emeralds for eyes. She wore a large tan suit and held a helmet of sorts to match with a mesh area to see through. On her hands she had a pair of large thick gloves that seemed to made of the same material as the suit. She also wore a pair of large thick boots. She looked at her niece and then turned her attention to Tyler. “Who are you?”

Tyler said, “Hi I’m Tyler. You must Jessica’s aunt.” He put his hand forward to shake hers. She looked at his hand and then continued on, “Are you her boyfriend? I was not told you would be coming too.”

“No, no, no, no, no!” Jessica said hurriedly as Tyler felt his face grow warm. “We just met on the ship and he decided to come with me. For protection reasons.”

“Protection reasons?” Julie said raising an eyebrow, “Why do you need protection and from what?”

“Pirates,” Jessica said plainly.

She looked at the two of them and then said, “Come with me.”

“Interesting story, niece of mine,” Julie said as she walked through the woods. Jessica and Tyler had both acquired a large suit for themselves and trudged along with her aunt. Tyler had no idea where they were heading that they needed such suits but he followed nonetheless. “I believe you. You don’t very often, Jessica, and I don’t know why you lie about something like this to cover up some boy.”

Tyler felt his face heat up again as they neared a large chain link fence. Jessica’s aunt walked up to the gate and unlocked the gate with a set of keys she had brought with her. She swung the gate open and motioned for them to enter. When they entered, Julie locked the door behind herself.

“Uh, what is this place?” Tyler asked. He could hear a white noise in the distance. Tyler couldn’t place the noise.

“This is where me and my husband work,” Julie said walking forward. Tyler glanced at Jessica to see she was smiling back at him. “What?”

“Just wait and see!” she said running to catch up with her aunt. Tyler waited for a second and followed.

As they moved forward, the white noise grew louder. It became almost unbearably loud. Tyler could still not figure out what it sounded like. Suddenly, the path they were on turned to the right. Julie and Jessica turned and kept going but as Tyler rounded the corner, he gasped and stopped. There were yellow bugs Pokemon everywhere. They were in the air, on the trees, and on top of each other also. Tyler saw that they looked like a combination of three smaller bugs in a piece of honey comb. There was one wing sprouting from each of the top bugs and one antenna sticking out of the top. The bottom was the only one that seemed to stick out of the back of the honeycomb.

As Jessica and Julie walked forward the bee Pokemon started to land on them. Tyler realized that the suit must bee used to protect the person wearing from the large bugs in case they attacked. Tyler rushed forward and with a rush of buzzing, the bees in front of him leaped into the air and started to land on him. Tyler started to hyperventilate as he felt them crawl over his entire body when Jessica put her arm on his shoulder.

“Just try to ignore them!” she shouted over the buzzing. Even then, Tyler barely heard her. She dragged him forward through the hundreds of bees to where Julie stood beside a huge building that had the bees flowing continuously in and out. She motioned for them to follow her and headed into the giant square hive.

Inside, there were large hexagonal cells on all of the walls. In these cells, the bee Pokemon rested. In others, there were what appeared to be eggs. In others still, there were globs of honey. The honey oozed over the edges of the cells and ran down the walls. Tyler found his mouth watering at the site. Near the center of the building, there was an even larger bee-like Pokemon. It had what appeared to be a black and yellow dress made of the cells that surrounded the building. It also had a crown of sorts on its head.

Julie ignored the bees and walked over to one wall and picked up a couple of large buckets. She handed one to Tyler and another to Jessica. She then walked over to the nearest wall and used a scoop to put the honey from the cell into the bucket. She motioned to Jessica and Tyler to join her. They all worked for a while, until all three buckets were full to the brim. After that, they lugged them back outside to the fence and put a lid on each of the buckets to keep out the bees. After this was done, they exited the fenced in area and headed back to the house.

“I don’t think I’ll ever forget the feeling of those things crawling over me,” Tyler said as he took off his helmet.

“Those ‘things’ are Combees and they produce the honey that we can then sell for money,” Julie said curtly.

Later, Julie, Tyler and Jessica sat around a table with a cup of lemonade each.

“Are you planning on leaving any time soon?” Julie asked Tyler, sipping her drink.

“I was planning on spending the night in the Pokemon Center and then setting out tomorrow,” Tyler sitting forward in his seat.

“Well, that’s no good. You’ll stay here. It’s safer.”

“Uh, safer?” asked Jessica.

“Yes, safer.” Julie responded, “Team Rocket is more likely to look for you at the Pokemon Center than at a random home in this town.”

“How do you know about Team Rocket?” Tyler asked, this was the first time he had heard of them, he was pretty sure.

“Team Rocket was one of the largest organized crime groups up until about twenty-three years ago. Those were dark times. These men were ruthless in their acts of crime. People got hurt a lot.”

“Why didn’t the police do anything?” Jessica asked.

“Ha! The police?” Julie said with contempt, “the police were just as afraid of these guys as everyone else. The most dangerous part of these men was their leader, Giovanni. This man gave no mercy to his enemies. He was also the leader of the gym in Viridian City of the Kanto Region as a cover up.”

“Jeez,” Tyler said, “What happened? Why are they still not around, supposedly?”

“No one knows,” Julie said mysteriously, “Twenty-three years ago in June, they just disappeared. Team Rocket had left the face of the earth. Some people think they disbanded and got old. I personally thought they were still out there, out of site, still doing there dastardly actions. And you two getting attacked by them is the proof in need to say I was correct.

“You two have to be careful. These men are not to be messed with lightly. They could hurt you badly. Now that you attacked one of their task groups, I have no doubt they will try to take you out.”

“This is just great!” Jessica said sanding up, “Now we have to watch out for a mysterious criminal group that nobody has seen in over twenty years!”

“What do you mean ‘we’?” Julie and Tyler said at almost the same time.

“Well I’m not going to let Tyler go out there on his own when the two of us together barely escaped,” Jessica said fuming, “And don’t try to stop me, either of you! I can take care of my self!”

Tyler swallowed the objection he about to voice.

“Humph,” Julie said standing up, “Your just like I was before I got married to your uncle. Very head strong. How many Pokemon do you have?”

“Uh, two,” Jessica said taken aback.

Her aunt walked over to a bookshelf a took a pokeball down from a line of about seven, “Here. This is a female Combee. You see, we can only have one queen of the hive, or else they would fight and ruin the business.

“Uh, thanks,” Jessica said as she accepted the Pokeball.

The next morning, Jessica and Tyler left Julie and her husband’s home. They traveled on to the edge of Eterna Woods, where they stopped to rest.

“Great, more woods,” Tyler said, sitting down on a log.

“Get used to it,” Jessica said looking down at him, “Most roads with pass through woods at one point or another.”

“Great.”

“You know, I’ve that these woods are the home of a haunted house. The house is said to be haunted by the ghost of the original owner who died soon after it was built.”

“Joy,” Tyler said peering into the trees.

“I say we go and explore it.”

“Uh, I guess.”

Jessica walked down the path and Tyler jumped up to follow her. “I’m so glad you agree,” She said, “I would have dragged you along anyways.”

Tyler sighed and followed.

“That was easy to find,” Tyler stated as they stared up at the vacant windows and rotting roof. The mansion had be located right along side the path.

“Looks creepy,” Jessica stated, “Let’s go. There is bound to be a ghost type Pokemon in there somewhere. I always wanted a ghost.”
Jessica hopped over the rusted gate and headed toward the house. She stopped and turned back toward Tyler, “You’re coming, right?”

Tyler snapped his gaze from the house to Jessica and swallowed audibly, “Y-yeah.” He jumped over the gate less gracefully than Jessica and followed. He would not let her know he was afraid of ghosts.

Jessica squinted at him as he drew up beside her, grunted, and started walking again. Tyler swallowed again, even though his throat was dry enough to pass for a rock tunnel.

Jessica grabbed one of the huge door handles and pulled. The door creaked the whole time as it opened and Tyler felt his knees start to tremble. Visions of a couple of ghost Pokemon from the Kanto Region floated across his thoughts.

“Come on!” Jessica said grabbing his arm and pulled him through the door. Tyler and Jessica looked around to find themselves in a large entrance hall. There was a large door leading to a room strait in front of them and two sweeping sets of stairs to the sides. The room was eerily quiet.

“Hello!” Jessica called out boldly as Tyler jumped, “Come on out ghost Pokemon!” Tyler and Jessica stood there listening. Tyler thought he heard a faint beeping noise in the room up ahead.

“Do you hear that?” He whispered.

“Yeah,” Jessica said walking forward. Tyler hurried to stay right with Jessica, his eyes darting all around. They walked forward and the beeping noise got louder. A floorboard squeaked and Tyler jumped bumping into Jessica.

“Hey watch it!” she said, and then stopped walking, turning to him, “Aha!”

“What?”

“You’re afraid of ghosts!” Jessica declared, poking him in the chest.

“So?” Tyler said, as nervous sweat ran down the back of his neck. He swallowed again. “I bet you have something your scared of also!”

“Yeah, but it’s not something as silly a ghosts” Jessica said smiling.

“What are you afraid of then?”

Jessica stopped smiling and glared at him, “You’d think it was stupid.”

“You think I’m stupid for being scared of an obviously scary thing. Come on!”

“Fine!” Jessica said looking down, “I’m scared of heights.”

Tyler looked at her and smiled.

“What?”

“Oh, nothing,” Tyler said his smile getting bigger, “That’s a perfectly normal thing to be afraid of.”

“Hello?” a voice called.

Tyler and Jessica turned toward the sound. Tyler felt his fear come creeping back into place.

“Hello?” the voice said again, footsteps thudding on the floor, coming closer. The beeping grew louder.

“I think it might be a ghost,’ Jessica whispered, excitedly. Tyler took an involuntary step back.

They watched as a shadowy figure came out of the darkness of the next room. Tyler took another step back, and tripped on a warped floorboard and fell backwards. As he landed, a Pokeball popped off his belt and rolled forward, releasing the Pokemon inside.

“Are you all right?” the shadow said as he stepped into the light of the room. It was a man most likely in his thirties. He was wearing a large and bulking looking machine outside of his clothes. The machine let off a constant beeping noise as he walked. The man was average height and was wearing a pair of strange looking green goggles. He looked down at the Pokemon that had been released and said, excitedly, “Is that an east coast Shellos?”

“Uuugh,” Tyler said looking down at his blue slug Pokemon. He didn’t know they could look any different. “East coast?”

“Didn’t you know?” the man said, setting down the machine, turning it off. He then took off the goggles and replaced them with a pair of glasses, “Shellos is either pink or blue, depending on which side of the mountain range you find it on.”

“Oh,” Tyler said, feeling dumb, “How did you know it was east coast Shellos?”

“The west coast Shellos is pink and the east coast Shellos is blue.”

“Oh,” Tyler said again, “Wait, I caught this Shellos on this side of the mountains which means that it should be pink, not blue.”

“Really,” the man said, “That is very strange. You know I would like to trade a Pokemon for such a rare find.”

“Really?” Tyler said, finally picking himself up from the ground, “Why should I give it to you?”

“Oh, sorry,” the man said, “I am Reese. I search the world for strange anomalies. This blue west coast Shellos is such a discovery. Just now I was using my ghost detector to see if the local legend about this house being haunted was true.”

“Oh, is it?” Jessica said taking part in the conversation, “Is there any ghost Pokemon around?”

“Actually, no,” Reese said, “That story is not true unfortunately. Finding this Shellos doesn’t make this day a total loss though. So, as I was saying, would you like to trade Pokemon?”

“What would you give me?” Tyler said.

“This,” he said pulling a Pokeball off of his belt and threw it in the air. The energy came out of the Pokeball and reformed into a huge bi-pedal Pokemon. It was covered in gray steel plating from its two forward facing horns to the end of it’s massive tail. “I will give you this hi leveled Aggron. He may not be as special looking as your Shellos, but he is definitely powerful enough to be of some worth.”

“I agree!” Tyler said enthusiastically.

Also, the next chapter will most likely not be up next week, (I'm having writers block)

Well, this is a good fan fic. You got better with detail, and there are only a few typos. I can't remember where they are right now, so I might point them out later. Good job with this so far.

Or scyther dude could break the rules of pokemon and have it obey him. Just a thought, but don't use it.

Yeah, sorry, but no chapter this week. I am currently working on the stroy right now and also a special holiday theamed picture for deviant art

Merry Christmas to All!

Yeah! Super long chapter! Fifteen pagesn word, with double spacing! Ok here we go, back into the story...

Chapter Seven

Pokemon Center- Eterna City

“Alright, to make this a permanent trade, you put your Pokemon in over there and I’ll put mine in over here,” Reese drawled. Tyler put the Pokeball containing the Shellos in the left side of the trading machine. Reese copied him by putting Aggron’s Pokeball in on the left side. Reese pushed a couple of buttons on the touch screen of the machine and the small doors slid shut, hiding the Pokeballs from view. The machine whirred a little and then let out a ding like a timer would. Reese reopened the machine and pulled out the Pokeball on his side of the machine. Tyler followed suit. “Let’s see you then,” Reese said sending out the Pokemon inside. The Shellos that, until quite recently, been Tyler’s formed and sat there as it usually did.

Tyler turned and sent out his new Pokemon with a yell of, “Come on out!” The energy flew out of the Pokeball and formed into the hulking form of Aggron.

“Oh, no!” a voice gasped behind them. They turned to see a Nurse standing there. “You can’t let that thing out in here; it will rip a hole in the ceiling!”

They looked up to see that she was right. Aggron was bent over, under the ceiling and its two large horns were only inches from the ceiling.

“Oh, oops,” Tyler said as Jessica, off to one side, laughed at his stupidity.

“I’m sorry,” Reese said to the Nurse, “I was seeing if my Pokemon was as it should be and my friend here felt the same way. He just forgot that his Pokemon was overly large.” Tyler felt his face heat up as he returned his new Pokemon.

“Nice one,” Jessica said bumping Tyler in the side as they left the Pokemon Center.

“Hey! It was an honest mistake!” Tyler said defensively, “Anyone could have made that mistake!”

“Only if they were half asleep or drunk at the time,” Jessica said giggling again. Tyler decided not to respond. He knew he couldn’t win. “So what are you going to do now?” she asked him.

“I was thinking about battling the gym in this town,” Tyler said perking up slightly, “I want to try out my new Pokemon and I did my research this time. This gym is the second easiest in the region. I should be able to win this one!”

“Just keep telling yourself that,” Jessica said, receiving a playful push in return. She suddenly turned to the right as they went through an intersection, grabbing onto his arm saying, “Maybe you should have checked where the Gym was I thankfully did, and it is down this road, you moron.”

Tyler sighed.

Pokemon Gym – Eterna City

Jessica and Tyler entered the Gym, or at least, Tyler thought it was the Gym. The entire Gym was filled with trees and bushes and all other manner of plant life. The roof of the building was a giant glass dome that let sunlight through, allowing the plants to grow.

“I wonder what type of Pokemon the leader uses,” Jessica said sarcastically. They both walked forward along a dirt path to a large, square clearing. Tyler could see the regulation lines drawn on the grass showing it to be the battle arena. Sitting in the middle of the clearing were two teenage girls. They both had the same style of clothing and had the same hair cut. Since their backs were to the front entrance, he could not see their eyes. He guessed they would be the same color as the other’s. All in all, they were identical.

“I guess this will be one of those double battles,” Tyler said to Jessica. At the sound of his words, the sister on the right twisted around to see who had spoken.

“Hello there!” she called cheerfully, “You’re here for a Gym battle aren’t you.”

“Uh, yes I am,” Tyler said awkwardly, he was surprised at her bluntness. After he answered, the sister on the right practically flowed into stand, still facing away.

“So blunt you are, Flora,” she said in a smooth voice that imitated her flowing movements.

“Well, I believe you’re too disconnected and flowing but there is nothing I can do about that now, can I, Breeze?” Flora said as she stood up in quick, abrupt movements; the opposite of her twin.

“I do believe you know how a double battle works, correct? Or should I give you a recap?” Breeze said turning around in an incredibly smooth fashion. Just as Tyler thought, she looked exactly same as Flora.

This will be confusing, he thought and then said, “No, I know how it works.”

“Then let us begin!” Flora said clapping her hands.

Tyler found himself standing opposite of Flora and Breeze,-or was it Breeze and Flora?-on the grassy field. Jessica was sitting on a garden bench on the sidelines and the judge of the match was standing on a small box on the side line, directly halfway from either end of the field. “This will be a two on two match, each team may only use two Pokemon,” the Judge said, “Are ready? Begin!” He swiped a his hand down signaling the start of the battle.

“Get him, Grotle!”

“Destroy him beautifully, Roselia.”

“Come on out, Quilava and Aggron!” Tyler said releasing his two Pokemon. He looked at the two Pokemon his opponents had sent out. One was a green, four legged creature with a yellow back that had what seemed to be two bushes. The other Pokemon was smaller, had three horns on top of its head, and a large leaf covering its small body. Instead of hands, it had a flower on the end of each arm, one red, one blue.

“Grotle use Razor Leaf!”

“Let them hear the sound of your Grass Whistle, Roselia.”

“Quilava, use Flame Wheel on Grotle! Aggron use Iron Head on Roselia!”

Grotle shook its back, sending hundreds of razor sharp leaves flying from the bushes on its back. At the same time, Roselia produced a small reed flute from one of her roses, held it to her mouth, and started to play a sweet, soothing melody. Quilava ran forward, jumped over the leaves sent from Grotle and tumbled to the ground in a roll that turned into a ball of flaming destruction. Aggron raised its arms, blocking the weaker grass attack and otherwise did nothing.

“Grotle, use Tackle on the fiery Pokemon!” Flora said, jumping and pointing in excitement.

Tyler looked at his new Pokemon in disbelief; it had not used the attack he wanted, “What are doing? Attack!”

Meanwhile, Grotle and Quilava crashed into each other, each flying back slightly. Grotle seemed mainly unfazed by the attack even though it had been a fire attack. Quilava jumped up and faltered. Roselia’s song was starting to take effect. Aggron rolled it’s eyes at its master and lifted its massive foot. It then smashed it into the ground, sending out a large shockwave of earth that sent all three of the other Pokemon flying. Quilava fell into unconsciousness along with Roselia. Grotle had some how survived, if only just. It wearily picked its self up, trembling badly.

“That was anticlimactic,” Breeze said as she returned her Pokemon, “Good luck sister.”

Tyler turned to his new Pokemon seething, “Not your team! The enemy only! Auuugh!” He grabbed Quilava’s Pokeball, returning his fainted rodent, “Now use Iron Tail on Grotle!” Aggron sat there doing nothing.

“Hmm, an unresponsive Pokemon,” Flora thought aloud, “Must have been a premature trade.” She then turned to her Pokemon and said, “Be careful, that thing is probably more powerful than we first suspected; use another Razor Leaf!”

Grotle shook itself, once again sending leaves at Aggron. Aggron let the leaves hit him, but they bounced off of his hardened steel body, doing little to no damage at all.

“Seeing as you’re not going to listen to me, let us try something easier,” Tyler said, strangely calm, “Why don’t you use something simple; such as Tackle or Headbutt?” Aggron looked down at its trainer as Grotle sent more leaves his way, ignoring the attack. Then it turned and started walking calmly toward the opponent.

“Yeah! That what I want to see!” Flora exclaimed, “Grotle, stop with the Razor Leaf and use Tackle again!”

“What, is it actually going to obey me?” Tyler mumbled to himself, stunned by what he was seeing.

Grotle charged, full force, at the walking giant of a Pokemon coming toward it. Aggron stopped and waited as the other Pokemon drew nearer and then reached down picked up its smaller opponent. It then walked to the edge off the battle field and dropped the turtle like Pokemon outside of the regulation lines.

“Grotle is out of bounds and is therefore disqualified,” the Judge said for all to hear, “The challenger wins against the Gym Leaders Flora and Breeze!”

“Good job, Tyler!” Jessica said walking over to join him where he stood. Tyler blinked a couple of times and said, “It followed my instructions.”

“What?”

“Well, sort of,” Tyler said coming out of his shocked stupor. He returned his unruly Pokemon and walked over to where the Gym Leaders were waiting.

“I know why your Pokemon did not wish to follow your directions,” Breeze said calmly, “The reason is that any Pokemon that has been received in a trade will not obey their trainer unless the Trainer proves that they are powerful enough to train them.”

“What?” Tyler said, having not understood a word she had just said.

“She just said that your Pokemon thinks you’re too weak to train it,” Flora said explaining bluntly.

“Well how am I supposed to prove myself?” Tyler said skeptically.

“Most Trainers choose to use Gym Badges. Powerful Pokemon respect someone with plenty of them,” Breeze explained, “If you ever collect all eight badges in any set Region, any Pokemon you trade for there will obey your every command.”

“Cool,” Jessica said, “Tyler should start collecting those then.”

“Start?” Flora asked.

“Well, yeah,” Tyler said embarrassed, “I’ve only challenged the Gym in Canalave City and I lost.”

“Canalave? You do realize that is one of the hardest Gyms in this Region?” Flora questioned.

“I was told the same thing by Byron after our match.”

“Then let me be honored to give you your first Gym Badge,” Breeze said pulling out a small flat case from her pocket. She opened it to reveal a row of identical shiny Badges. She took one out and put the case back in her pocket. “I present you with the Forest Badge!”

Tyler took the Badge and held it above his head with both of his hands and said, “You got the Forest Badge! Duhdadada!”

The three girls looked at him blankly and he said, “What? Is it wrong to make old video game references?” Jessica groaned as Flora started to laugh uproariously. Breeze just smiled.

After stopping at the Pokemon Center to heal his Pokemon and to take many pictures of his badge, Jessica finally dragged Tyler outside stating that they needed to get moving if they were going to make it to the first Check Point to Snowpoint City before nightfall.

“You know, we could just wait until tomorrow,” Tyler complained rubbing his arm where Jessica had grabbed him to do the dragging.

“Staying here would just be pointless and there is plenty of light left to get to the first check point and have time to train your team up for the next Gym,” Jessica said, “You do have some winter clothes with you don’t you?”

“Well, yeah,” Tyler said thinking back to when he had originally packed his bag, “But why? It’s only August.”

Jessica glanced back at Tyler before continuing, “Snowpoint City isn’t called Snowpoint just for kicks. It’s always winter up there. That’s why there are check points. They’re there so that people can stay warm and safe during the harsh nights. Also, anyone traveling through has to check in at each point so that they can keep track of hikers. If someone doesn’t check in by nightfall, a search team is sent out to search for and save them. It’s much safer than it was ten years ago when there weren’t any check points. Just a little cottage halfway between there and here.”

“Scary,” Tyler mumbled, thinking about being stranded in the middle of a snowy nowhere at night.

“TYLER!”

“What?” Tyler said turning around searching for who had called his name. The white-blonde headed person he saw running toward him surprised him greatly, “Steve?”

Tyler’s cousin ran up to Tyler, grinned, and said, “I thought that was you but when I saw you with a girl, I had my doubts.”

“Who’s this?” Jessica said looking at the Steve, taking in his appearance.

“This is my cousin, Steve,” Tyler said, putting an arm around his cousin, “Steve, this is Jessica. I also didn’t think I would see him in the Sinnoh Region. What are you doing here?”

Steve looked at Jessica intently until she blurted out, “I don’t do the whole dating thing. I tried it once but that guy spent the next two weeks in the hospital. Need I go on?”

Steve blinked and said, “No, I’d rather not know the details,” he then turned to Tyler and said, “Yeah, anyways after you left for your big adventure I got to thinking I would try it out too, so I headed here on a ship a week after you left, and here I am!”

“Huh,” Tyler grunted, and then said, “You taking the Gym Challenge?”

“Nah, I prefer to battle as entertainment and not as a competition,” Steve said, “Speaking of which, we should battle!”

“What!? Right now?” Tyler said shocked.

“Sure, unless you’re doing something?” Steve said, “I’ve caught some Pokemon that can’t be found in the Safari Zone and I’m sure you’ve caught some Pokemon I haven’t seen yet. It would be a perfect time to see each other’s Pokemon.”

“Come on, Tyler,” Jessica said punching him in his arm to help sway him to doing so, “This could be your training for today.”

“Fine,” Tyler said rubbing his arm, “Let’s do it somewhere less crowded, though.”

The three of them found an empty area of the town’s large park for their battle. Tyler and Steve stood a good distance away from each other. Jessica sat with her back against a tree to watch the two boys fight.

“I seem to be on the sidelines a lot for these battles,” she muttered as she sat down. She watched as the two boys faced each other. She could definitely see the family resemblance in them. They both had the same face structure as a whole and were about the same height. Steve, though, held himself with a greater amount security and self confidence then Tyler. The younger boy had a sense of eagerness. He was definitely livelier than his cousin.

“Let’s make this a four-on-four match,” Steve called, “one Pokemon at a time.”

“Ok, that sounds good,” the younger replied.

“Let’s start this!” Steve said, reaching for his belt, “Go! Magmar!”

“Come on out, Porygon!” Tyler yelled back. The human created Pokemon formed across from a Pokemon that Jessica hadn’t seen before. It was a strange bipedal creature with a flame on its tail and a nozzle-like beak. Its body colors were all reds and yellows. Jessica could tell it was a fire type from its appearance.

Hmmm, Jessica thought, there is no type trumping, so this will be a fairly even match. Then again, I don’t know the levels of Steve’s Pokemon.

“All right, let’s start with a Fire Punch,” Steve called.

“Don’t let it get near you, use Psybeam!”

Magmar ran forward, its fists suddenly burning in an intensely hot fire. Porygon sent a beam of purple energy at Magmar while moving back. Magmar jumped back, away from the attack and ran forward again, rolling underneath a second shot.

“Try a signal beam!” Tyler yelled. Porygon switched attacks instantly and kept firing them off. Magmar got hit a couple of times, but it didn’t slow down. When it was within a few feet, it jumped over a final beam attack and smashed a fist into Porygon, sending it flying.

“Follow that up with a Flamethrower!” Steve called. Magmar sucked in a huge breathe, and shot a huge stream of fire from its mouth. The flame attack quickly caught up to Porygon, knocking it out.

Oh, jeez! Jessica thought, His Pokemon are definitely stronger than I first thought!

By the time she had finished that thought Tyler’s Aggron was out and fighting. Magmar used another Flamethrower and Aggron had blocked with a Protect. Aggron followed up, not following orders, and used Earthquake, devastating his opponent. Steve then sent out a large snake made out of huge boulders.

Jessica, instead of watching the battle, watched the trainers. Steve stood without majorly moving while Tyler constantly was moving his feet or his arms, expressing his commands with exaggerated motions. Soon, Aggron was knocked out because of its lack of responding to his commands. Tyler sent out his next Pokemon, Scyther, who made quick work of his weakened opponent.

Jessica would have kept watching the Trainers if Tyler hadn’t sent out his next Pokemon. It commanded too much attention to miss though.

“Go Wyrvadow!” Steve yelled releasing his newest Pokemon. The creature was a dark gray with a metal plate located on its head. Located near the back of the plate, there were two small metal horns pointed backwards at its wings. Its wings were large plated metal things that stuck straight up, out of its back like a pair of giant airplane wings. Its hind legs were larger than the front pair and had three large claws on each. The front pair were very minute compared to the back legs and contained three smaller claws and a fourth that acted as a thumb. On the end of its tail, there was a metal plate that looked like a rudder on an airplane or a boat.

“Where did you get that?” Tyler gasped. He was just as shocked as Jessica, apparently.

“You know that Pokemon Salasteel I had last time we met?” Steve said smugly, “Well, it evolved.”

Soon after that, the battle resumed at its previous pace. Jessica watched at the Wyrvadow released jets of flames from its mouth and used other attacks such as metal claw, steel wing, and dragon claw with ferocious power. Scyther was soon knocked out and Quilava took its place. Quilava in turn, thwarted its enemy’s relative weakness to fire and knocked out Wyrvadow.

Steve calmly pulled his last Pokemon off of his belt and sent it out. The large blue creature appeared and started fighting the weaker fire type.

Nidoqueen must be resistant to fire to be acting as though nothing happens when attacked, Jessica thought, Tyler is going to step up his game if he is to win this fight.

“Quilava!” Tyler yelled, “Use another Smokescreen-Flame Wheel combo!”

“Stay vigilant, Nidoqueen!” Steve called, his voice unwavering.

Jessica’s view of the battle disappeared as black smoke flooded from the flame on Quilava’s back. She sat forward, waiting. Both Pokemon were relatively tired from fighting for such a long period of time and the end was surely close. She saw a flash of light in the cloud of black and a screech of a creature and then silence.

“Quilava, you all right?” Tyler called hesitantly.

“Nido?” Steve called to his own Pokemon, “Where are you?”

The three of them waited in silence as the smoke slowly blew away, revealing the scene underneath.

Both Pokemon had been knocked out. Unfortunately, it was impossible to tell which had fainted first because of the smoke.

“Huh,” Steve said, “It seems we are at a draw.”

“Yeah.”

“Well, this was fun, but we probably should get going if we’re going to make it to the first check point by nightfall,” Jessica said, standing up, breaking the thoughtful tone of the ending of the battle. She walked over and grabbed Tyler’s arm in the same place as before and started walking toward the road, “We need to get you to a Pokemon Center first, or else you’ll never make it through the icy Pokemon to the north.”

“I guess,” he said stumbling along. He then called over his shoulder to his cousin, “It was awesome to se you again, See you!”

His cousin laughed and waved back saying, “At least you have one intelligent person in your group for snowy regions.”

Route 216 to Snowpoint City- One hour after dark

“F-face it! You’re lost!” Tyler said through chattering teeth. Even with his winter clothes he was freezing, and it was starting to snow. “We should have g-gotten a map bef-fore we left-t-t Eterna!”

“N-no way!” Jessica said, as she walked purposefully in the right direction or was it the completely wrong direction, nobody would be able to tell. “I-I can f-find it!”

“Let’s just r-rest a moment,” Tyler said leaning up against a giant snow-covered boulder and looking around in the almost complete darkness. They were currently traveling through a boulder filled valley. Unfortunately, it snowed almost non-stop, covering any paths or roads that could had led them to the check point. “At l-least it can’t g-get any worse,” he chattered, “I-it’s dark, c-cold, and it started-d snowing ag-gain.” Just then the boulder he was resting against, shifted. Tyler froze. Now that he thought about it, he could feel the boulder pulsing beneath his shivering. Almost like a heart pumping blood would feel like.

“Jessica,” he hissed, not moving, “Jessica!”

“What is it now?” She shouted turning around from where she was standing, “What are you going to complain about now?” That was when the boulder stood up, shaking snow from its fur.

Tyler jumped back towards Jessica and yelled, “That’s what!”

The massive creature turned toward them to show the two giant frozen tusks sticking out of face. “Mamoswine!” the thing roared, focusing its angry beady eyes on Tyler and Jessica.

“Run!” Jessica yelled, following her own advice. Tyler followed. The Mamoswine bellowed again and the other boulders started to shake themselves off. Jessica and Tyler ran past many of the creatures as they focused in on them. More bellows sounded and they started chasing the two humans. As Tyler and Jessica broke free of where the Mamoswine were, they ran toward the edge of the valley.

Tyler glanced back to see the whole valley following them. He turned back forward and sped up, passing Jessica who ran faster, also. They were almost out of the valley when a large shadowy formed landed in front of them. Tyler fell to the ground as Jessica skidded to a halt looking at the new danger.

The thing looked down at them with its glowing eyes and opened its mouth, spewing flames at Tyler and Jessica.

“Aauugh!” Tyler screamed, covering his face.

Extra: the picture for wyrvadow and the holiday pictureshould be posted on Deviant Art in a day or two!
Also: Merry Christmas!
And: Happy New Year! (The next chapter will most likely be up next year bcau of heavy amounts of partying)
Extra Fun Fact: Wyrvdows wings are hollow and filled fith Hydrogen, making them stand up as they do. Also this helps it fly (I mean, come on! A big lizard with heavy metal wings would have a little trouble lying!)
And Lastly: See you all later, Peoples!

Hi

Yes, I know I havn't posted anything in a very long while. This is because I have been having major writer's block with this story. I have been incredibly busy along with that equalling: no new chapters.

I'm here to say, I don't know if I'll continue this story. It's sad, I know. I may post some extra tid bits or something...I don't know.

I you haven't figured it out yet, I'm taking a humoungous brake on this story. As in half a year or more. I'm sorry for all of those following this story.

Goodbye for now. But hopefully not forever...

I think all of us who have written a story know what writers block is like. But as for continuing, it's not like other people haven't taken long breaks. Two of the best stories haven't been updated for months because their authors have lives. So GL with whatever you're doing, hope you do continue, even if it takes a long time.

Lots of writers take short breaks. Although, it is dissapointing when a great story gets cut off when the writer finds himself unable to proceed for whatever reason. I can recall one of the best FanFics on the gym at its time, about Team M, that ended at chapter 11 out of 20. And just when it was getting to the suspensful part. *sigh*
