UK Nationals 2006 Thread 10 June 2006

hi there i was just wondering as we were having a chat at our league is it true that ian fothringham wont be able to judge at nats as he has a family member in each age group

No one has mentond any restriction to me. But then as far as I'm aware there are currently no judges for the UK nationals. Should be fun....let the stalling gamesmanship and other unsavoury practices begin. Me I'm just going to enjoy the barbeque

I know that lev has offered to judge UK Nats, but hasn't heard anything back from the LD :/ Funness.

lev has TPfG's phone number now, so he should get a little more feedback soon.

Additionally, we didn't get any permission slips at our Regionals, so we can't send people who just qualified in Regionals to the Nats yet. I e-mailed TPfG about it, and haven't received a response either. =/

Nitish - don't complain - you told me you and Sami wanted to go, lol.

Almost a month to go...

when are the invites going out? Has anyone recieved thiers yet?

also is there going to be any other warm up tourneys other than this weekend in Rainham?

Freddy, I don't know how to break this to you, but theres another reason why you don't have your invite...sorry:tongue: . But it is getting a little late though for them to send them out it has to be said.

Letters will arrive via post of that I am sure. letters regarding UK Nationals arriving by post maybe...

Letters arriving in time .. oh dear... expect your invite next month .. just around.. after the 10th..

well if it all falls apart I'm sure that using 2005's results for 2006 will be fine =)

BTW Justin, I also won TPFG's Dragonmeet CC earlier this season so I have an invite through that too just in case the rules about qualifying players from last year's T2 changed about =)

Well guys, despite repeated calls to TPFG and repeated assurances that the email is on its way, I still have not had confirmation that I am down to judge as HJ of the 10- I am now officially fed up trying to get an email which has been promised umpteen times!! So I guess I will be making alternative plans for the day which will probably involve a boring day looking at the lions and tigers!! I am hacked off at this slipshod attitude and feel it is unprofessional! So its quite likely that Nats will be short of a judge this year!! :frown:

Right, more info has now been confirmed by TPfG. From what I got to my inbox...:

- The call has been made for judges/event administration/volunteers for marshalling players, collection results - contact Carl for info, support looks okay.

- Nintendo DS pods running Pokemon Link will be there (thanks to Ninty UK)

- Nintendo GBA 10th Anniversary Downloads (again, thanks to Ninty UK)

- The Pokemon Trading Figure Game will be demonstrated - I'll certainly look forward to that!

- TV coverage of England vs. Paraguay has also been allowed!

---

No news on full prizes yet, but winners are due to get Nintendo DS consoles and copies of Pokemon Link.

Also, ANOTHER Nintendo DS will be given to one random lucky player throughout the day!

Sounds like a laugh to me, so far. =D

Any update Martin?

Well the judges support is no better then last years:

Food and drinks provided all during the day
1 Display of Ex Holon Phantoms Boosters
1 Display of the next set released, this will be sent directly to you on the day of release

and they need:

1 x Head judge for each age group
2 x Judge for each age group
6 x Volunteers (collect results, Marshall Players etc)
2 x Event Administration

If you're gonna judge, you're probably gonna judge no matter what the support is.

IMO, looks okay. Wouldn't have expected much more. Won't judge this year but maybe when I become a prof again at 18.

It would be a shame if Martin didn't judge. It's the only reason why Sami continues to own at tournaments. =D

i would only do it if im head judge, no other way! anyway do u know if u play the uk nationals and in the french??

Kish ur gonna have to call me "boss".......... or "sir" would do nicely.
