Could I just add that not only is the entry cheap but Tom Snook's honest about the finances. At the CC he overcharged (I assume less turnout was expected, so the costs were covered etc.) so he refunded the unnecessary part of our fee with a booster pack each. Come to Crewe it's great! :)
 
It does have the potential to be quite a large event, there are three leagues pooling this SPT...

lol I just checked the travel prices and it'd cost me £50+ to get there. Think I'll give it a miss.
 
Some great games in crewe today, I went 3-2 using Gardy ex d, congrats to whoever won the final (kempley vs Ben).

My little brother (Chris Clarke) won the Juniors (latios ex d / latias ex d / raquaza ex d are what he got in his box of DF). My Sis came 4th in Seniors (quite good considering she was using claydoll/slowking).

We'll see you guys at the Nationals.
 
I reckon Ben pulled it off as he had a Quaza* versus Absolutions (so many exs). I'm sceptical about your energy switch though Ben :)

Your brother was incredibly lucky in his packs, all I got was Altaria ex d and Kingdra ex d :(

Your Sis' deck was intriguing. Along with Ross, lightning weak pokémon are metanite fodder. If anyone's seen my pojo reviews, I slate such cards.

got a txt off stef, kempley won in 20 mins lol tut tut early game dmg manipulation is too much. Congrats man, glad to see Absolutions in action.

Yeah.

Game 1 he got a lone Beldum, I got a mew and licked it for 30, he researched into Gross, attached metal and passed (he held back a dratini to stop it from being licked). I mentor into Jolteon*, attach a lightning and crush and burn for 70 for a T2 win.

Game 2 I take the T2 KO of a Dratini, he drops a Ray* and prepares a 4 turn build - I commit myself and drop in my ex's, wide lasering him twice, taking out a dratini - He attaches the 3rd energy but I drop Absol and wide laser him to take him out. He evolves his metang to gross and drops in a Lugia, I second bite him out. Then I copy elemental blast to take him out doing 400 damage.

Good games if a little short, I'm pleased I proved I could play around a card like Ray* and wanna thank everyone for a great day. In particular kaworu who made a seriously good play out of no-where against me that took a seemingly 1 sided game to 1 prize each.

Just wanted to say I meant no disservice to Ben when I said the games were quick. It just happened to be probably the shortest final I'd ever seen, and it meant we actually finished on time. :eek:

Where do I put the results for this one? I'm assuming we're collating them. There were a lot of people asking me for qualifications guarantees yesterday, which of course I couldn't give - any lists we compile are still unofficial afaik

Hey guys quick question:

I came third/fourth in the North East regional/STP Masters and I was wondering if I get a trophy like some people did who placed 3rd/4th did at the North West STP?
 
You should get a trophy. were there any trophies at the Hessel regional?
All twelve from High Wycombe are still waiting.

maybe we pick them up at nationals. its not long now.

Yes you should, Ben H sent me my 2nd place one through the post. Contact him and you should be able to make arrangements.
 
Oh! I thought Ben/Lois were still waiting for their stuff. That's a pity, they could have brought it across for free. I think the issue might be the risk and cost of posting. I'm sure Ben will be at nats, Scott, maybe you could arrange him to bring it?

The prize support should be the same for every SPT in the UK. The number of events was controlled, so its not as though supplies will "run out".

The Hessle regional and the North East Regional/SPT are the same event, in case we're getting confused.

I would gladly pick it up at the nationals to save money on postage, how do I contact (e-mail/PM?) him to see if he can bring it along?

It's just my Brother AND my Sister have one each so I wouldn't mind my own ^_-
