We drove down to Disposable Heroes on Friday evening and brought Con L with us. We met up with Frezza's and some others to play at DH Friday night for a few hours. We had decided to get a hotel in Providence since we had lost power here during the night on Thursday. Over 400,000 customers in New Hampshire have been effected by the ice storm! I know Mary mentioned southern NH but it is much more wide spread than that. We figured we'd stay for the weekend. We got up on Saturday morning and had breakfast, while heading over to DH, Dylan got nauseous and sick, so we dropped off some cards for a friend to borrow, and I ran in with them and told Judy we'd not be staying. (that was the 3 seconds Brian mentioned - but Dylan didn't even get out of the car) We went back to Providence to check out of the hotel and get the rest of our stuff and to head home. Dylan was really sick, and it was not a fun trip home. When we finally arrived back home, still no power, but my husband had a generator hooked up running our pellet stove and refrigerator. No hot water for showers or even to wash our hands. Cold!! It was 44 degrees upstairs in our house on Sunday morning. Not fun to be cold! We got the pellet stove running again, and got it warmer at least in the downstairs. Sunday evening our pellet stove popped a switch and stopped working. My husband with the help of his father got our furnace hooked up to the generator for some heat. All the while Dylan is sick. Not fun!!! The National Guard even came knocking on doors last night to make sure people were OK, and to see if anyone needed anything.
It is Monday morning about 9:30 am. We got power back on about 4:30 a.m. but still no heat. Dylan is feeling better, and we're getting to take warm showers! Yahoo! Dylan and I played some Pokemon yesterday. My husband has got to get some things re-wired back to use the power for the furnace and something is not right. Dylan has no school today, and was bummed to miss two City Championship tournaments (he really enjoys playing in RI) He's looking forward to getting back to playing in January and kicking off 2009 at The Game Castle! Hope to see some of you at leagues over the next couple of weeks. Happy Holidays to everyone!
