Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

~ URGENT! TJ's Milford, MA CC - Change in Start Time Due to Snow Storm ~

Great first weekend

Hello everyone! Judy and I wanted to congradulate the winners and thank all the players that came out to play in our City Champs Tourneys this past weekend. Cherry Valley had 75 players while Tewksburry drew 71 players. It was interesting to see that each age division was won by different players each day.

One thing became apparent though. Players need to spend more time on decklists. It might be helpful for you if you were to type your decklist up in a spread sheet early in the season. If you do so please make sure you do the following:

Type out the list, on the top put your name:, pop id, and birthday including year.

then break your cards up by catagory: Pokemon, Trainers, and energy

Please use the computer to add your colums, use sub totals, this will help you KNOW that you have 60 cards. Remember you MUST play a deck that has the cards LISTED on your LIST. If you are not sure what cards are modified legal, you can check the pokegym.

I hope that this helps, if you need any further assistence email me at: [email protected]

2 more Poké-tastic TJ Collect events this weekend.

And i can't be at either one. :(

Can't wait to see the numbers from these.

Oh yeah we had 71 at the Tewksbury CC. Though i think it was 72 as i don't recall anyone with a first round bye.

Masters - 28 5 rounds t4
Seniors - 25 5 rounds t4
Juniors - 18 5 rounds t4

Nice - consistency.

Brian, there was a senior with a R1 bye. Your total is correct with 71.

I didnt cheat in last sundays event.

Went 4-1, lost against a mirror match.

Pooped my pants tho when the judge checked my deck for marks and pulled 4 out. Luckily they were all
randomized enough to take the suspicion off me. And i had great sportsmanship after the 2-0 win
from Dylan.

Way to go Justin and the other 2 divisions for winning first place tho!

Anyone have attendance number breakdown with round and top cut numbers for Hadley and NY events? If so, will you please post.

If you were referring to the card on the floor, no way did I, the judge, infer you were cheating. You dropped a card, that's all.

Relative to sleeves, the more you know about what to look for in sleeves and stuff, the smarter and better player you become. You are a respectful young man. :thumb:

I am glad that you had a good time.

A lot of the folks in Southern NH still have no power from the ice storm Friday. Could be a reason for lower turnout. I just had other stuff to do this time!

We drove down to Disposable Heroes on Friday evening and brought Con L with us. We met up with Frezza's and some others to play at DH Friday night for a few hours. We had decided to get a hotel in Providence since we had lost power here during the night on Thursday. Over 400,000 customers in New Hampshire have been effected by the ice storm! I know Mary mentioned southern NH but it is much more wide spread than that. We figured we'd stay for the weekend. We got up on Saturday morning and had breakfast, while heading over to DH, Dylan got nauseous and sick, so we dropped off some cards for a friend to borrow, and I ran in with them and told Judy we'd not be staying. (that was the 3 seconds Brian mentioned - but Dylan didn't even get out of the car) We went back to Providence to check out of the hotel and get the rest of our stuff and to head home. Dylan was really sick, and it was not a fun trip home. When we finally arrived back home, still no power, but my husband had a generator hooked up running our pellet stove and refrigerator. No hot water for showers or even to wash our hands. Cold!! It was 44 degrees upstairs in our house on Sunday morning. Not fun to be cold! We got the pellet stove running again, and got it warmer at least in the downstairs. Sunday evening our pellet stove popped a switch and stopped working. My husband with the help of his father got our furnace hooked up to the generator for some heat. All the while Dylan is sick. Not fun!!! The National Guard even came knocking on doors last night to make sure people were OK, and to see if anyone needed anything.

It is Monday morning about 9:30 am. We got power back on about 4:30 a.m. but still no heat. Dylan is feeling better, and we're getting to take warm showers! Yahoo! Dylan and I played some Pokemon yesterday. My husband has got to get some things re-wired back to use the power for the furnace and something is not right. Dylan has no school today, and was bummed to miss two City Championship tournaments (he really enjoys playing in RI) He's looking forward to getting back to playing in January and kicking off 2009 at The Game Castle! Hope to see some of you at leagues over the next couple of weeks. Happy Holidays to everyone!

Im glad to hear dylan and u are alright. I was wondering where you guys went last saturday. I asked if con knew anything because I know he went up to your car saturday morning and dylan told him to shut the door. Now I understand why dylan wanted to be left alone because he was feeling sick. Im glad u guys got power back and are able to take hot showers now. I hope to see you and dylan soon and that everything goes back to normal for ur family.

A holiday break

Judy and I want to wish the New England Pokemon community a happy holiday season. Our next City Championship will be Londonderry, NH on 1/3/2009! Complete shceduling information is on the TJ Web site. We will be hosting league the next few Sats.

This season so far has been a very good one in terms of quality play, sportsnmanship and the fun factor. It is good to see everyone playing hard, fair and ENJOYING the tourneys. Our staff constantly strives to improve what we do. I have seen a troubling trend on these boards of unsportsmanlike conduct from the pokemon community as a whole. This is a game meant to be FUN. It isn't world peace!

Thank You for your support
