The ability to PokeTurn x4 or 5 for Crobat-G is really powerful and super annoying. At our league tournament, the 15+ winner played SP out of 7 people, but I don't think the 14- player did out of 17 people.
I think Machamp will be the play. At the end of the day, this is a donk or be donked format, and no deck does that better than Machamp.

Where is ascension? Is he going to be at States? He's been skipping out on league, but that hasn't stopped us from talking about him.

i respectfully disagree good sir because toxicrook swarm makes it go QQ and it loses to regigigas (at least mine)

Yes. Toxicroak owns Machamp and a simple 1-1 Uxie X tech also drastically increases your chances of beating champ.

Ok, I'll try to sound civil here:

Do NOT use this thread to ask/beg to borrow cards. I don't want to see a "card list" here and I will ask a mod that it be deleted/moved for being in the wrong thread.

PUI and I are working very hard for you to have a fun, free event. If you need cards, buy or trade for them in the appropriate forum here, go to ebay (some sellers are great folks and well-known friends of the gym), or visit your local card shop.

I do get perturbed at those who do nothing but ask for handouts and never buy as much as a booster pack.

is somewhat unfounded. Talking about people (to be honest, currently just the one person) who have bought cards but have been unable to come up with particular cards or quantities of cards. Maybe your post came out sounding extreme, but your kind of throwing people who are buying cards under the bus by lumping them in with people who "never buy as much as a booster pack." The appropriate forum is rather ill-suited for such a request since it is not MD/VA specific and the intent is to find people who will be at the event which is better done in this thread.

This is really something you should be announcing during registration at the tournament when people go around asking for cards to borrow to complete their decks. I've even seen people make an entire deck of borrowed cards.

Why is this coming up now? Not comments suspiciously unlike you, I hope.

With Unown G around, and better donk decks out there, I'd actually say Rampardos would be the Play. 80 Damage T1, and a great second attack, along with some support makes it deadly. No doubt Machamp won't be a good pick, just think Rampardos is better.

Should be a fun and interesting states. I hope there will be a lot of diversity this year.
 
Yeah but I havnt seen Rampardos anywhere unless its the BDIF over in Maryland then I think Machamp will be bigger simply because ive seen it everywhere

Unown G has been around since GE, but that didn't stop Machamp before, why should that stop it now?
Remember that Rampardos' basic is a fossil. You know, those cards that have all the penalties of pokemon (counts for a prize if KOed) and trainers (can't be played turn 1 going first, vulnerable to cards discarding trainers in play) with none of the benefits of pokemon (can't be searched for via Roseanne, Great Ball, CFF; can't be retrieved with Night Maintenance and TSD).

Don't trick yourself into thinking Rampardos' second attack will see more than moderate use. Alternating attacks that set up the main attacker like that look so good on paper but never work in reality. I wish I could remember cards that have had similiar strategies, but I can't put my finger on them at the moment.

I think Machamp is more versatile than Rampardos is, especially since Machamp has two playable versions, the DP one and the SF one, and a lvX.

Despite my opinion of it, I am surprised to not see a lot of it at league. Maybe it is still too new.

Tim, machamp is a joke, and will always be a joke. It can't even beat G decks, so why bother using it? :p

BTW, does anyone have any Dialga G? I've been having the hardest time finding that card... :(

Yeah, I've got like 6 (including the Japanese ones) Dunno why you'd ask though, since I've requested that folks NOT go for card borrowing here...... :mad:
 
All States stuff arrived today despite the snow!! It's absolutely YUMMY!! The Giratina deck holder from Japan was immediately placed in the States Stuff bin along with the PUI goodies so I won't forget about it!!

I took a long look at my Tokyo Pokemon Center Pikachu promo from last summer (098/DP-P for those of you who follow Japanese Promos) They fetch around $20 on ebay, so I figure I might throw that out there, too, if you guys are interested........
