Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

VS System

Apparently at the last PCQ here in Nashville there were 30 people who showed up and the winner got $250 cash plus a sealed box.

And that's for a SEALED event.......!

another thing. a lot of the good decks are full of uncommon/commons.
they are very cheap to make.

not like some decks *COUGH* LBS *COUGH*

Yeah, and lets face it...that's a big deal.
I mean, I thought about taking up YuGiOh so I'd have something to do when there's no pokepeeps around, but it sooooo expensive.

another cool thing is the text on some cards.

like this:
The Demon:
When the Demon,Etrigan, comes into play,
Endurance 8 opponents must pay
To ignore this should a player choose,
All his resources shall he lose.

there is also flavor text

cool example of this:
The Joker Flavor Text:
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

54 ha's

The Demon Etrigan is the best text card.

Krypto

No Fire Hydrant in Smallville is left standing.

Any interest in a VS section on the Gym, or even a "VS-Gym"?
If there is one other game I could get interested in, it would be that one.
http://vs.tcgplayer.com// is a Forum similar to this with Decks and dicussions.
As far as playing VS I play at the Scholarship Events and try at a PCQ once in a while. VS is a great game 2nd only to you guessed it, Pokemon. I would like VS more than Pokemon other than as far as the MetaGame goes it is all the same. Teen Titans is an awsome deck. Way easy to play and win by Tirn 6. Pump Harper, Shoot, Teen Titans Go Rinse Repeat. As I said titans is a cool deck, if not every other person was playing it. VS is a great game but it lacks orginalilty as far as deck building goes kinda of makes it stail.

Do the $10,000 winners get anything besides the money?

for PCQ [only 1st place] gets US$250 + goodies[very good stuff]

for $10K [the top 24 IIRC] gets $ + goodies depends wat rank u get in the end

for PC[pro circuit],its like worlds tournament where only ppl have invites can join.Alot more goodies than expected and high level tournament where lots of pros are there...

for hobby league, its like weekly small tourney with promos + packs

for sneak preview=prerelease, each day has 10 flights [meaning that u can join 10 times] sealed pack

Of course the down side to VS is that it's run by Upper Deck....

Sure it matters. Here's a rating done of gaming companies. While it focuses mostly on the YGO aspect of UD, one cannot help but wonder how it does with Vs.

Oh, and notice what company got the only "A" ;)

Yeah, the best thing about Vs. is that they don't take themselves too seriously at all. Some of the foil rares do something different. On the Bizzarro foil, all the text is flipped into reverse. The foil rare Plasticman is made out of Plasticman. The foil rare Doop has alternate flavour text (in Doop-language) that sends you to a secret website. As for the regular flavour text, if you've ever played Duel Masters the sense of humour is pretty similar. Here's the text on "It's Clobberin' Time!":
"Say it, Thing."
"Say what?"
"You know what."
"I'm not gonna say it."

The Bizzarro-World card's ability is just "Bizarro-Text;" you have to go to a website to find out what it does, and it changes with every set released.

The game is cheap and easy to get into, but it has a fantastic complexity curve that goes right up to Fiendish. Arranging your team and timing your attacks perfectly can take five minutes of thinking beforehand, and that's not taking into account whatever Plot Twists your opponent might play to mess you up. Two draws a turn means your deck will usually play the way it's supposed to, too.

I only draft the game - can't afford to play constructed Vs as well as Magic - but I definitely recommend it.
