Yay! I finally got my wife off my back and purchased a second copy of this game. I was to stingy to let her start up a character in my game. She would just re-organize my house and stuff, and make the game less fun. Someone actually traded in a copy @ my store, so I picked it up. In about 3 hours or so of going through each character in the game (they had 4) and selling alll their stuff before restarting the cart for my wife I earned nearly 200,000 bells, nearly doubled my gyroid collection, and got a few items I needed for my specific sets I am collecting.

To all of ya'll playing this game with only one character, some notes on starting up more.

Each character has their own wardrobe/dresser. Meaning each character can use it to store 90 items for a total of 360 items w/4 players

Each charcter gets their own save mail in the Town Hall. Thats another 120 item slots per character if I remember correctly. 480 total w/4 players

Each charatcer gets their own money rock every day. Up to 8,500 bells per day per character. 34,000 bells a day w/4 players

Each character gets a new set of sea shells. This wont amount to alot, but every bell helps right?

Just some good tips for those who didnt know... enjoy. On the downside each must go into servitude for Nook before they can buy/sell from him. Each player works together to pay off debt to him, but each gets their own saving account.

Dont know exactly how this works, but have you noticed throughout the day Nook will change his buying price on turnips? Its more like a real stock market with prices changing every so often throughout the day instead of daily. I havent noticed a big spike in the price, it usually gradually goes up or down by a few bells. Example: Yesterday my bells went from 60 to 59 the two times I checked.

From what I've heard, Nook changes his turnip prices at noon each day resulting in two different prices each day. In my town, he never seems to buy them for more than ~80 bells.

Do snowman dissappear a few hours after you build them? I built one today(in between two previous ones that i built), and then saved. I came back, and it was gone! =O

Got some fruit, so its only a matter of time till I start making some major bells.

I now have 8 people in my town. I had to convince 2 residents to stay, and one of them wanted to move twice!

Currently need to pay off 270,000 bells. It'll take me......a week or two. -_-

Filled up the space I have now already. If I add another item, the floor will break! =P

Even with fishing, the only way I make major money is through catching a ton of Football Fish and night(they are plentiful). Also, is it even possible to catch a bee? You can't get your net out fast enough, and you can't shake a tree while holding the net. -_-

So yeah......guess I should start shaking some more trees.

Also, did anyone know of this site?

www.nookbay.com

Like Ebay, only Animal Crossing style. =D Though it helps to have WiFi access at home...

More tips and tricks

First off.... (this one will be great for most of you) it is actually incredibly easy to catch a bee. When you see one, switch to your inventory and equip the net... and then wait... The Bee(s?) will buzz arund your head, but if you wait long enough they will alter their flight pattern. When they do this is when you exit the inventory and swing away. You only get one shot, and its a possibillity you'll miss, but net one and sell it to Nook's for the sum of 4,500 bells.

If you wanna shoot down presents (and eventually the golden slingshot) keep an eye out on the top screen every time the last digit on the clock is a 4 (ex: 11:04, 12:34, 2:44). They wont show up every ten minutes, but will very from every 10, 20 or 30 minutes. after you shoot down 15 items the golden present with a golden balloon will start appearing, this is the golden slingshot. Note I have never seen this, but I've heard it sometimes happens on the 5's (ex: 11:05, 12:35, 2:45).

Keep an eye out for the large fish shadow in the river, occasionally its a Stringfish, worth 15,000 bells.

Keep an eye out for large fish shadow in the ocean during rain/snow, occasionally its the Coelecanth worth 15,000 bells.

Night fishing rocks... I usually late at night after Nook's is closed, spend time to catch fish. I never keep any fish worth less than 500 bells, everything else gets thrown back. Noteworthy fish to keep when doing this
Olive Flounder: 900 bells
Sea Butterfly: 1000 bells
Football Fish: 2500 bells
Red Snapper: 3000 bells
Tuna: 7000 bells
Coelecanth: 15000 bells (must be snowing)
Please note that I only mentioned winter time fish that appear in the ocean, so for all you time travellers look up the summer fish. Also keep an eye on the river for the Stringfish. I normally net 20000+ bells a morning when I start my game up once Nook's is open. If you catch anything cheap, throw it back, "there's plenty of other fish in the sea"

Metal Master: The snowman should have been there for at least 2 days depending on how big you made him. Are you sure he got saved? thats odd. Also, were you able to long on to WiFi and get Nintendo gift? Just curious. My friend heard it was a one day thing, but I know it was at least for 2-3 days, and since it was a holiday weekend, maybe they extended it to Mon.

The gift was a coin. If anyone is interested, I am offering 100,000 bells to anyone who is willing to weed my town.

What was the gift?

More specifically it was the Mrio Bros coin. It even makes the noise from when you grab coins like in original game.

I JUST EARNED 1,300,000 bells yesterday... go me...

I dunno what happenend. It just........did. Oh well. I can't build a snowman now to save my life. =P At least not a good one......they're all too big or too small. -_- And I still need the other half of the set!

I would, if I had Wifi at home. =(

Does anyone go wifi on this. I never see anyone on when i play i always leave the door open to see if anyone comes in.

Alot of people do. I've even found a few myself when logging on. Unfortunately a lot of us keep different hours, so..... yeah.... bummer. Using AIm or other messaging service is best way to keep tabs, but also when you go to open your gate, if a buddy has theirs open, the game will let you know. Copper says something like are you sure you wanna open your gate, someone elses gate is already open.

Generally when I am on WiFi I am on late at night, or early in the afternoon. Alot of you have reg jobs and/or school so it conflicts with my scheduele. You can still try and AIM me though, I'll try to get on if I can.

If anyone is interested, I just bought an Action Replay for the DS, so I have the ability to get any item, including the "Nintendo/Mario" set.

Regarding the recent posts about difficulty finding others online at the same time, if anyone ever wants to play, feel free to PM me and I'll be more than happy to open my gates.

I think the game is stupid and takes up to much memory. Thats my opinion

Then wt* are you posting in this thread for? The game is alot of fun, but like any other game out there, not everyone will like it... so you dont like it, thats fine... thanks for the opinion...

Anyways, Zapditto... what is the fun of playing the game if you just AR everything? The fun of the game is the collecting and the interaction. The only time I ever considered ARing the original was for the 3 rare NES titles, and even then I didnt.

I've been keeping my original AR free save on my computer and have been switching back and forth between the two. It definitely does destroy the entire purpose of the game, but there is a reason for the AR save, PM sent.

I created 3 Dummies yesterday. Clone 1, Clone 2, and Clone 3. If you ever visit my town, it will be through JayJay(whenever I get a friend code, that is).

It does help. I now have 170k to pay off to expand to a new room. So I should be done in a week in a half.

The Clones do help, but it is kinda hard to switch items and stuff. JayJay is basically the master, will get a hold of all items so that they are all available in the master catalog. The Clones are just "puppets".

Nook's is closed today. Oh well. I'm trying to pay off 20,000 or more a day, so I did more yesterday to pay it off today and not fall behind.

Other than that, does anyone know if each player gets their own set of trees/bees, or are they only one?

I got 18,000 from the H. R. A. I forgot to grab my tools that I left laying on the floor. -_-

Anyways, not much to do today with Nook's closed. Oh well.

There is only one set of trees no matter how many players. That includes Items, bells and bees. Each time you start up a new character, they get sea shells reset, and they get their own daily money rock. Also, with the exception of bugs/fish, I normally drop everything else I need too switch around outside. Its easier if you buy each clone their own tools once as soon as your able too.

Once you get your exotic fruit trees groing, it gets easy to earn 50,000+ bells with only 1 character daily. To get exotic fruits either
A) Trade fruits with friends either by local or WiFi connecting
B) Mail native fruit to your own towns people, they often mail back exotic.

The best thing is to harvest 1/3 of your trees each day, so that you dont get a lot of money one day, and little to none the following 2.
