Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

Worlds Being On TV????

I don't think tournaments will ever be broadcast on TV, but I'd love for a live UStream or something of the sort.

I could be completely wrong, but I think it could be beneficial for Pokemon to do this for the top 8 of each division...

I mean, have a bird's eye camera, and then maybe 2 or 3 more cameras capturing from different angles, have a pair of commentators (maybe Judges that aren't needed for the top cuts?). Throw the stream up on their site with ads around it (and maybe even in the video), and then after the event is over host it on their site, Vimeo, YouTube, etc. edited cleanly. I'd love to see something like that.

This money comes from where exatcly?

You guys keep comparing to what Yu-Gi-Oh! and MTG do, but theres 2 HUE differences in those gaes and Pokemon. They charge for entry to events. Therefore, they make money to spend on things like that, whereas Pokemon does not.

Nationals aside, all UK events have an entry fee and I'm sure other countries have this too.

That I did not know, but as far as US events, as well as all other countries' events w/o entry fees, my point still stands.

For those who wouldn't go to Worlds it would be cool, but forthose playing at Worlds it might not be. It would put pressure on some people and they might concentrate less.
For me this would be a no, even though it would be cool.

We can always wait for Worlds Reports

Yeah but the amount of people that don't go to Worlds completely dominates the amount of people that do.

rokman: Why?

Professional shoutcasters in other games are flied to tournaments all over the world to be announcers and they don't have to worry about qualifying or anything like that.

Hmmm.... chances are I won't make it past grinders, so I could bring a camera. do you honestly think they would allow a guy to go up to a match and tape it?

There's a high chance I won't make it either. I'll bring my camera also.

I think you can't, because POP is EXTREMELY strict when you do anything that can change a match. States, I was walking away from my table, Judge gave me a warning when I was leaving when he thought I was just wondering around.

I am probably the only one that would vote against doing this. Let me explain logically. Many people, myself included, are camera shy, and that can affect their performance. That can make a landslide type effect. More and more people come in, see cameras, leave. Then you see that all the strategies you make are now being seen by millions of people, making your strategy next to useless. Then many people have a agreeing theme that most say: pokemon are for children. Magic is successful because of what many people think as it's an adult game even if there are 9 and 10 year olds playing it. But a small handheld camera is very simple though.

Now why would someone seeing your strategy make it worthless?

Clearly, unless you were playing an uber rogue deck, SOMEONE has already seen you deck played before. There is no way someone is going to miraculously say: "Oh!!! Plox works by locking powers from T1!!! I CAN BEAT IT NOW!" That is highly unlikely. Besides, hopefully these games would be the top cut, and current competitors wouldn't be able to view them, so you wouldn't have anything to fear of someone figuring out your secret tech.

I can understand camera shyness, but strategies are strategies, they are pretty much common across the board.
