I could be completely wrong, but I think it could be beneficial for Pokemon to do this for the top 8 of each division...
I mean, have a bird's eye camera, and then maybe 2 or 3 more cameras capturing from different angles, have a pair of commentators (maybe Judges that aren't needed for the top cuts?). Throw the stream up on their site with ads around it (and maybe even in the video), and then after the event is over host it on their site, Vimeo, YouTube, etc. edited cleanly. I'd love to see something like that.
This money comes from where exatcly?
You guys keep comparing to what Yu-Gi-Oh! and MTG do, but theres 2 HUE differences in those gaes and Pokemon. They charge for entry to events. Therefore, they make money to spend on things like that, whereas Pokemon does not.
Nationals aside, all UK events have an entry fee and I'm sure other countries have this too.
rokman: Why?
i'd like being both, but that's just me.I'd rather be a shoutcaster at tournaments like worlds and nats instead of playing.
Hmmm.... chances are I won't make it past grinders, so I could bring a camera. do you honestly think they would allow a guy to go up to a match and tape it?
I am probably the only one that would vote against doing this. Let me explain logically. Many people, myself included, are camera shy, and that can affect their performance. That can make a landslide type effect. More and more people come in, see cameras, leave. Then you see that all the strategies you make are now being seen by millions of people, making your strategy next to useless. Then many people have a agreeing theme that most say: pokemon are for children. Magic is successful because of what many people think as it's an adult game even if there are 9 and 10 year olds playing it. But a small handheld camera is very simple though.
