Worlds will be in Orlando!!

There are real issues that deserve critisism and need to be dealt with.

But there is also alot of complaining and here about things that are only rumors. Persons here are getting bent out of shape before FACTS are known.

To be able please all the people in the world with times and dates for an event is impossible. Attacking PUI for that is a bit silly.

This is the hardest group to please I have seen in a long time.

Oh yes, I know there are several pressing issues that PUI has also slacked off on. This is another one. Feel free to rant about others in another topic, I sure have. The message has weight to it, not a confirmation from PUI, but from the sources. I know the originator of the rumor and he's an important member in this community. I doubt that he is lying.

It's granted that pleasing all parties for a date, location, format, etc. is never going to happen. But getting people's hopes up is avoidable. If they we're unsure of the venue, they should have never cleared the advertisments. Then nobody would have relayed the message to their league members, family, and friends.

I'm sure that some trips will be postponed or canceled due if there is a change of location. This effects many people.

1st off let me start by saying"I agree 100%" with the problem of Worlds being listed in Scrye for everyone to see and to possibly already have started planning for such an event. BUT, what I don't get is this" tell me know, what is it, when is it" mentality that seems to be showing up inregards to every tournament, or card set, the next promo. Maybe it's just me but I think that if the issue wasn't pushed so early on for things that are still quite aways in the distance it might make life alot easier.
Even now for example, the new set do out has been literally bashed by some(even though they have no real idea as to whats in the set for sure). Others have taken issue with cards being left out, possible text changes and yet as I said, " we haven't even seen the cards yet"!
Then we also have the Pre-Release card? Since that post started up everyone and there mother has had the need to know now! I even tried going on and posting about RH Cleffa just to try and lighten the load. I even noticed a post sometime this week inquiring about the next set already. Do you think it would be to much to ask to enjoy whats in the present and try to just hold off on the future?
I guess the whole point of what I'm trying to say is that I think we need to willing to wait and let the info come to us from the proper channels rather then push for info and not have it end up being what we wanted to hear. Again let me say, with what was printed in Scrye, it sure leads you to believe that Worlds was being held in Florida, no debate from me there. How ever, it's the other rumors and gossip concerning what ifs, and I just heard, that has me concerned. Maybe im in the minrity but I think that when the time is right will end up getting all the info we need. Yes they have promised things and were still waiting.
Yes there lack of communication is somewhat questionable. Is it perfect, not buy a long shot. Our they trying, probably harder then a lot of you realize. Be willing to let the game come to you and not go out looking for something that may not be there yet..

With regard to information coming out early PUI HAVE BEEN A DISASTER! Some have known info on card sets and tournaments, worlds, etc and others in the community have not. Some have acted on that info or in the case of worlds on published info in Scrye and as told to them by the Distributors in Europe and elsewhere.

The real stupid thing is that we do need to know early we need to know to plan trips, in the case of worlds so that we can budget the flights to the US the internal travel, the hotels, the entrance fees and the hundred and one other costs that will effect the international and national traveller.

Heck you guys and gals have just had or are having CCs we haven't even got confirmation of them yet in Europe and now you are talking states and nationals and worlds and yet in the UK we can't even get conformation of qualification criteira for Nationals and that sucks!

WotC advertise MtG qualifiers, nationals, worlds, set releases all way ahead of time, heck my 2004 MtG Calendar shows me all the important dates I need... yet PUI can't do the same?

There is an acceptance of poor and shoddy treatment of the game by PUI that will eventually kill it if not addressed. You don't tell everyone it's Orlando and then say oops no it isn't and you don't tell everyone through hearsasy and conject you make an announcement!

But that would take a professional approach to the game and not a PUI one!

Well as the Distributors have been tasked with running OP outside the US then the answer should be yes! After all they have to organise their qualifiers around worlds.

Can't agree more that is my point too we need official communication that is as open and honest as it was with WotC. Instead we get a lot of we are too busy to talk messages and then hearsay from the select few who have some knowledge from PUI sources.

My point is that until PUI start communicating the plan ahead of schedule and stick with it wherever possible we are in for a terrible ride. And that doesn't just mean announcing the US tourneys and leaving the rest of us to hang out to dry again!

Heck a movie crew from Hollywood almost kicked us out of our City Championship location March 27th because they wanted to film a movie. Only thing that saved it is the fact I reminded the guy that was letting us use it that he was an elected official and up for re-election soon and the negative press that would come from it would probably kill his chances for re-eleaction. They moved the Movie group to another location (they just wanted it for a "break" area.)

Things change. Wizards did the same thing more then once.

Some might have plans to go on vacations or go to Origins since Worlds might be local or close enough. If that changes, some plans might be reconsidered.

So we plan and book the family holiday to the US around little jimmys love of the game and a holiday to Orlando falls nicely in with it and then we have to disappoint him whatever happens? Unlike domestic flights most holidays can't just be dropped at the whim of a company and they need paying for and planning in advance.

I think you many agree with you that the attacks on fellow gym members put posters off, not sure you have the right targets though?

As for PUI well blunt questions and demands for answers maybe all they deserve if they do drop in every day see something that is wrong and don't correct it? Or maybe it's closer to the truth than they like and they are using their normal communication channels to get the message out?

Another person who thinks the same as I do. Good or Bad who knows but I agree with all of this. We have plenty of time(All of Us). Something this important is not gonna just get dumped in our laps at the last moment. I would hope that enough time is given to everyone in order to make the proper plans needed so that we all will be able to attend Worlds

The Japanese Pokemon sites have been updated with some Worlds info. Both the Pokemon-Card.com and the Pokemon.co.jp sites have the info.

The sites say that Worlds will be in Florida (no city is given) and that it will be in August (no date given).

They also say that dates and info can change as the event gets closer.

Yup, I believe Worlds WILL be in Orlando. The source stating such (PUI) is MUCH MORE reliable than any community members saying they have "secret" sources.

So, anyone saying they have "reliable sources," please state your sources OR "shut up" because no one believes you.

Regarding when Worlds will be (October or August), that is certainly debateable since it's never been announced by PUI yet.
