Which is why it went 14-0 at the GA marathon?

Can you prove this or is this made up? Here are the GA results I have:

First Place Second Place Third Place Fourth Place State
Gyarados Dialgachomp Gyarados Machamp GA
Dialgachomp Mewperior Tyranitar Tyranitar GA
Dialgachomp Blazechomp Luxchomp Gyarados GA
Luxchomp Vilegar Gyarados Vilegar GA
Sablelock Vilegar Vilegar Gyarados GA
Dialgachomp Vilegar Steelix Luxchomp GA
Luxchomp Luxchomp Gyarados Vilegar GA
Yanmega/Magnezone Dialgachomp Vilegar Vilegar GA

That's 8 and there is not one Vilegar winning. To be 14-0, it would have to have won 2. I'm not claiming my list is all inclusive either.
I'm not saying it didn't happen. I am saying I would like to know which ones.

Edit:
I just wanted to add that Dialgachomp had 3 wins and 2 other top cuts. I find it hard to believe Vilegar went 14-0 over 2 tournaments. Also, of reported tournament finals, Dialga was 6-0 against Vilegar.

were you in Georgia? I think a lot of these results are wrong. Stefan's Vilegar/blissey/blaziken won at least two (I know cuz I lost in the finals in one using luxchomp + dialga). Also I'm almost positive steelix won at least one of the earlier ones.

Btw, is the bottom or the top the first tournament? Are these in chronological order, or just random?

Sorry, I was ninja'ed! We can take this some else.

Yanmega?Magnezone LOL that is precious. Congrats on that player for winnign with such a red face powder deck.
I played Yanmegs and ran into two lukchomp decks on one with Dialga GX back to back it was not pretty. Do I get one match vs Gyrados that I would have owned.. nope. but I do get a Steelix that i somehow managed t olead the enitre gsme unit time was called. Then I lost in the +3 turns. You know Sonic Boom should really go through Special Metals, why did they make that attack so bad?

^ If by precious you mean super deadly. jk. I dunno I never saw it played. I know it was played by a dad though, so its not like some super secret deck to break the format or anything. Not that dad's can't create super secret decks to break the format... it's been done before. sort of.

14-0 Doesn't mean you won a touranment, It could be that it went undefeated in 2 or 3 swiss tournaments and dropped before top cut.

Back on topic....

If lost world becomes privilant enough to be a huge metagame game changer well then, its another game changer....would you really want to see SP win for the rest of this season aswell? ;p

Actually yes, I would. At least we are sure that sp is not unbeatable. For the record I do not think for a second that lostgar will be this invincible deck that it's hyped up to be, but it could be.

Sp has good matchups, and bad matchups - just like all BDIF's. All the panic over lostgar is because of the possibility that it may become the ODIF (only deck in format).

I personally used to worry about just that; but in testing, I've come to the opinion that LosGar is not a crazy broken deck. It's good (VERY good) for sure, but not unbeatable. I think it's withing Luxchomp ranges of good.

Of course, I've built my "counter" deck already, and it destroys it, and should do plenty well against the rest of the meta too.

^ Besides your counter deck, what decks have you tested against lostgar and what has done well?
I did test Gyarados against it, which worked surprisingly well. You just have to be smart with how you approach things: for example, starting Sableye and Impersonating a collector can be detrimental if they get a quick Gengar Prime out. But other than that, you just have to be sure that as soon as you get Pokemon, you use/discard them. If you run enough recovery (which Gyarados does), you can get the stuff you discard back fairly easily. In this case, Gyarados will likely never die, so you can use your recovery for the purpose of getting back Pokemon you discarded if you find a use for them, rather than recovering Gyarados.

Of course, it's wasn't a one sided match; I'd call it about even as far as matchups go.

This, sadly, is the extent of my testing. Still, many people though tGyarados would be completely unusable against LostGar, which simply isn't true (per my testing; it could be that the "ultimate" combo for LostGar hasn't been found yet).

^ Cool thanks for the progress report. I have been wondering about the gyarados matchup for a while, and I'm glad to hear the deck may survive as I think I have some pretty good tech ideas for the matchup.

Oh my holy God.

I don't know what is so hard to comprehend about "Gengar Prime wins everything in Japan, and they only have to take four prizes to beat it." Japan had the same meta we did and LostGar dominated. It's a simple fact.

Does everyone think that the Japanese haven't already tried your cute homemade counter to LostGar? Do you think the Japanese are stupid or something? Every tier 1 deck loses miserably to LostGar, as has been proven by Japan's tournaments within the past several months and continual playtesting by players in the States. There is no secret tech to beat the deck. No, it's not going to win everything. But it will eclipse LuxChomp as the BDIF.

Japan pretty much makes that clear.

Say what you will, but I will continue to disagree until I experience LostGar's dominance.

I've also heard conflicting reports on it's dominance in Japan, but have no idea who to believe in this case.

Three pages of psychic prophecies.

How certain are we that Lost Zone is in the next set?
How certain are we that every tournament winning deck (at least in Masters) will play it?

The answer to at least one of those questions is "not very." Let the cards come out, then we'll deal with them, IMO.

If I see chris fulop posting that he had issues beating lostgar with an sp-lostgar-counter deck then that is all the proof I need tbh.

Tyranitar+Spiritomb is better at countering lostgar(speed set-ups)

But how does that do against any other deck besides gengar? That is... if there are going to be any other decks

Tyranitar+Umbreon is pretty good against everything except Machamp SF and Gyarados. Without Umbreon pretty much every fighting tech under the sun will make your life difficult (Donphan being your #1 enemy).

I heard Tyranitar is really really popular in Japan (or was) when Gengar Prime came out too.
