Ash's father: the final debate!

you have to admit it seems like it is mr. mime, but if you think back, to the time they went fishing at the lake, you would realize that that has nothing to do with this...

seriously, lets hear some more adecquate arguments to who could physically be the father

Mr. Mime wasn't always there! He came and lived with them in the middle of the season! Can we please have a realistic arguement?

Here's about as realistic as it will get...
Ash most obviously had a Dad other wise he would be a test tube baby or a clone and that doesn't seem to Pokemon-y...
Most likely, since Ash's Dad never really ever gets mentioned, hes either been dead for a long time (or presumed to be dead) or he turned evil and Ash's Mom doesn't want Ash to know about it...
But sadfully since the Pokemon anime is mainly a children based anime they probably will never give a fully justified answer...
That's why Pokemon is one of my least favorite of the Anime's I watch... They will never have a indepth story...

Its sparky, that pikachu with the hair. yeah, thats why he looks at ash so weird in that episode where they find him in the grass at the end.
I dont see how that means they are related. They had met before in a previous episode.

I think what you meen is episodeS.They have been in sveral to be correct.I deon't konw why y head is doing this but I think somehow thw woman and her son from the Orange Islands are related to this. You know the one with Marowak and Alakazam in a double battle. Before she thought ash was her son because her sone looke SO MUCH like Ash and he also had a Pikachu he did not put in his pokeball. It's not my fault I think that somehow theres a connection I just don't know why.

Nah, I don't think that's it at all. I mean if Ash and Richie both have Pikachus on their shoulders, why can't other kids have them too? Besides, what did that lady call Ash when she thought he was her son? David? Unless there's a triplet thing involved, I think it's just coincidence. I mean, other trainers leave their favorite Pokemon outside of their Pokeballs right? Like that one girl with a Marril that had an earing, etc etc.

I already told you guys. THERE IS AN OFFICIAL ANSWER. Ash's dad was a wandering traveler who fell in love with Delia after Ash was born.

The only question there should be now is if this wandering traveler is someone we have seen in the Anime.

Yes I know but I still think there somehow connected.Cool Trainer well look I know aother people have pokemon outside there pokeballs but they lookes SO MUCH alike more then Richie even.

That makes no sense. You either typed up something wrong, because why would Delia have erm.....had a kid with a man who hadn't fell in love with her until after Ash was born. That's not much for lovely and wholesome family values. :(

..........When the Hoenn series was coming out in Japan, I remember reading a quote that Ash's dad would be revealed sometime during the Hoenn saga. So we will probably all have to wait and see who's right. And I doubt a Pokémon is Ash's dad.

- fell in love with Delia, had Ash, then left.

That would make more sense. I can't find your earlier post (where you might've stated it), but what's your source? And what about family values?!?!?! :-;

Take Brock's dad, Flint, as a reference. He failed as a trainer and couldn't stand up to his family afterwards. Only after seeing Brock and Ash talking about their dreams did he face his demons and decided to go back to his family.

Oak
If it is Oak, that is sick. Since Gary is Oak's grandson, Ash is the same age as Gary. Go figure.... Oak must be a LOT older than Delia, I think they are just friends. UNLESS, he returned to the forest, and encontered Celebi again. Time Travel could, in theory, change everything.

Normal Trainer
Quite likely, and it seems from WPM's source that this is true. Guess its not 100% certain though. That could have been gospel, or just a possibility.

Ho-oh
80% certain it is Ho-oh. I am sure Ho-oh can either transform itself or transform others. It could easily be true, and if so maybe it was "guiding" Ash when he saw it originally. Why else would Ho-oh be on Route 1 at that exact time? Ho-oh is truly sacred, and Ash is obviously supposed to be "special". This is most obvious in Pokemon 2000.

A Celebrity (Real World)
It seems the kind of thing that possibly could happen. You never know. I totally disagree with this theory though.

Mr. Mime
I wouldn't think about Mr. Mime too deeply. "Mimey" is just an overactive friendly cleaner. "Mime, Mime. Mis-ter Mime".

Giovanni
Possibly the most talked about theory. I don't agree. He is the bad guy, IMO and that is as far as it goes. This isn't Star Wars.

Brock
Someone suggested this at SPP. NO, just NO.

May
I'd say this is not very likely.

The Trainer from the Battle (Nidorino VS. Gengar)
Unless this has been revelead already who it is, it remains a possibility.

A Game Boy Advance
Marketing, maybe.

Pikachu
MAYBE. Just maybe, Pikachu is a reincarnation of Ash's dad. The original one possibily having died.

Fearow
AKA Mew. A test of ability and determination, and sacrifice (Pidgeot). If you don't know which Fearow I mean, ask, I will tell you.

Lance
Some people have suggested it. I can't see it myself, but there are connections.

Other
I could have missed them completely

I SAID REAL LIFE SELEBIITY! NOT LIKE SCHPELSPUNK, OR ANYTHING> maybe it is justin timberlake.

Selebiity? Even if that was a word, that theory would be wrong. Justin Timberlake? What the heck?
"Yeah, I'm Ash Ketchum and my dad is Justin Timberlake."
"Sorry, you aren't allowed into this league."
"Why not?"
"Because we hate your dad's music."
Yeah. The Pokemon World and Real World are COMPLETELY SEPERATE, so that's not possible, dude.

yeah, even im a little confused on that one...BTW, who would really want Justin Timberlake as they father in the first place. If I found that out, I would put myself up for adoption ASAP

Anyways, before mentioning my suspects, I would like to ask why people beleive that other Pokemon could be Ash's father. If you refer back to the Gameboy games when Pokemon "are interested in each other," They have an egg. How would it be possible for Delia to have an egg??? Ho-oh is 50% possible IMO because of the shape-shifting thing that was mentioned before.

Anyways, here are my suspects...

1. Professor Oak- It was already said before, so many things could have happened while Ash was gone. It could have been possible for Oak and Delia to have gotten married and not tell Ash (yet). However, that would make Oak more of a Step-father.

2. The trainer on TV in Episode 1- Judging by the actions, it could be possible that Ash thought of one of the trainers on the TV as a role model. According to studies, most role models are parents...

3. Lance- The reason Im saying this is because the Pokemon League could possibly have connections to all the professors in the Kanto area (refer back to R/B/Y and read Oak's PC). Some connections could be kept secret for privacy issues of the staff.

4. A Wandering Trainer (sounds too much like Kenshin  )- as WPM said before, it could be possible that if there was a relationship between Delia and a wandering trainer, maybe the trainer wasnt ready for kids...poor guy :(

actually if it is oak the more likely thing would be not marriage and actually more likely to be hanky-panky
