(April Fools!) Japan Says: Dice are not Randomizers, Earth not Round

TPC/CREATURES does not like the use of dice. Its not part of the game. Cards say "Flip a coin..." not "Roll a die..." At Worlds, the Japanese players and judges were all confused by the use of dice, hence the announcement at Worlds regrading which numbers were "heads" and which were "tails." Dave and I have tried repeatedly to get Yasu to speak with TPC/CREATURES regarding this issue, be he adamantly believes that they will not accept dice as a random determinant.

I caused that announcement! lol last year at Worlds, I was playing tsugoyoshi(sp?) yamato at Worlds Round 4, he played a Reversal and for some unknown reason he took one of my dice, he first pointed at the numbers 4, 5 and 6, but due to the language barrier i OBV did not understand why that was. He rolled the die and he got a 5, and we both celebrated on the flip! Because when he pointed the 4, 5 and 6 he meant those were heads, so for him the 5 was heads and for me the 5 was tails, and it was a key reversal flip, so we got judges over etc and discussion began and he was overrulled, i felt bad about that and asked him to re-roll, he said no and continued playing, THAT IS Spirit of the Game :). Finally after that round ended the japanese judge made the announcement about dice.

So I guess you can all blame me for getting dice banned since Worlds =P, and the above match description is for true, you can read a description of it in my Worlds Report for last year, this post is absolutely 0% April Fool's related.

i was hoping it'd be something decent this year :(

You are all still assuming that Pop's News Story is the April Fools this year. Tomorrow you may be surprised, and saddened, to learn that it was not. April Fools jokes can be so cruel sometimes.

Darn, I hate April Fools. I believed the whole thing until I got to the thread. >>;;

I actually really like coins, when they're flipped the way they're supposed to be flipped. But so many people got on me about flipping coins that I finally switched to dice so there'd be no controversy. x_X

Maybe this is a reverse-April Fool's joke. They could be saying this to make us THINK it's a joke, then we find out that it's actually true...

A good April Fools should be credible, but it should contain something that is 'obviously' incorrect too. A good way of achieving credibility is to bury the ruse in amongst several true statements. So where is the truth and where is the 'obvious' joke?

Hm, I think this is April Fools, because this ruling would make absolutely no sense. But hey, I'm not surprised anymore, I'm used to people who are in charge of Pokemon making retarded decisions, so I'd believe that they did this...If you posted it on any other day ;x

Yeah, I am just going to go back to sleep now and wake up in the mourning when all this fiddle-faddle has gone down the drain and all the good stuff has stayed.

When two players have identical tourney stats and one must be determined as the winner or advancer (in the case of cuts to elimination rounds), a dice will be rolled for each player. The one with the highest number will advance or be declared the winner.

There's your obvious joke right there.

I could actually see PUI do something this stupid, so I'm not going to comment on whether or not it's an April Fool's Day joke. =/
