this isn't just petty theft. It's GRAND LARCENY!!!!

I'm sure they'll do time. PLUS, if convicted, they'll be FELONs. I certainly don't ever want them at any of my tournaments, FOREVER!

Please do me favor, nowere in the suspended players list you can see what kind of offence people were suspended for.
Just to state people are not welcome anymore at your tournaments because of a topic on a public board is tricky.

I believe someone said they may be minors. If so, they will be subject to much less punishment than if they were adults. IF they are Adults, I say throw the book at them for stealing multiple times from many victims. Then, they will learn a new game in jail.....PokeyMan!

I am surprised that their ban was not lifetime.

These are EXACTLY the type of people we do not need anywhere around the game.

"But Vince, they just made a mistake"

Yeah, but, I am sorry, I have NO tolerance for this...I know what type of hell they put not only the people they stole from through, but also PUI through...

I hope they serve time.

Vince

Ok I have picked up others people cards by accident before and I bet other people have too wit same deck boxs ect. but this is pre meditated/ intentional stealing I do not see how it is a "mistake". I donno how people not realize their stuff is missing. always watc your stuff, if you think a person is trying to rob you like Blastoise ShellShocker felt you have the right to say get away from me, or no you can't look at my cards, or even say someting to a judge/to/ person in charge/ security.

It would be different if they were 18+ versus 17- You can't really press charges on a minor. And AS from what was stolen come on PLANE TICKETS?! That is not funny at all :/.

Note to (THE PEOPLE YOU KNOW WHO YOU ARE) Who Stole My car keys at Houston Gyms: Dudes you can end up like these guys ok. I know you were kidding around but ey stealing car keys is not cool :O!

A while back someone posted it on Pokemex. Not sure how old it is though. I know Pablo was on the list, so you could Google for him and a few other known names and find it.

They only got slaps on the wrist for stealing a shade under $10k in cards and property from Pokegym members. See you guys back in a couple years.

Meanwhile our National Champ is gone for 5 years and doesn't know why. PUI remains curiously silent =\

So the guys who stole stuff I know it was all in the free play room but they just walked around picking up stuff and NO ONE noticed geez and also all the stuff how does that happen every time I go to an event I keep my bag in my hand or between my legs so I can feel it at all times geez though I am just confues as to how so much stuff could be that easily stolen

They actually lifted my deck box rather quickly. Since it was just my deck box I had assumed I lost it. Also the amnesia doesn't help with keeping track of my belongings. To point out, as one of their victims, they were rather quick. They'd walk in while you were deep into playing and you look over at them as a group entering the door and realize that you don't know them so there is no reason to acknowledge them. (Stop your game to greet them.) Your game in progress is continued and minutes later, once the game is over, you wonder where your stuff went. This wasn't Vegas, my friends. This was pokemon, the only extent you should have to keep an eye on your stuff is to know where you put it.

They abuse the fact that Pokemon TCG is such an attention absorbing thing. When you are in deep concentration you don't notice if someone pushes your bag over and sneaks away with it. It's a sad story. There were theifs at large @ Worlds '05 too (A bag with a full binder stolen from a 10 year old Norwegian player). I hope PUI strikes down HARD on those who resort to stealing possesions that are litterally irreplacable in what's supposed to be a kid friendly environment.

I hope the consequences of their actions. It had me and G dog awake for the entire night through one of the worst days of my entire life. I ended up nearly missing my plane and being so distressed that I threw up at the airport. I still have no idea about any of my things, and am without any of my cards an or decks. I think its easy for someone to criticize and say "we'll you should have watched your things," and I know we should have. But this wasn't exactly the kind of environment where we expected this kind of thing to happen. We were hanging out with friends late sunday night winding down after a long weekend, with some of the japanese players. I literally had my bag right next to me, but again was so involved in playing that it got away. All it takes is a few seconds for a person to calmly pick up your bag and walk away. Even if you notice within 30 seconds, they are already gone. These people were caught on tape talking to eachother outside the room, shortly before they are shown bolting out with my bag. Ben told me he saw them trying to steal from Drew earlier, one sort of kicking drew's bag away from him slowly and signaling for the other person to come pick it up. He didn't think much of it however, other than telling Drew to watch his things. Again, this wasn't the kind of environment where we were expecting organized theives. Maybe this will teach us all, even in pokemon we still have to deal with these things.
