Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

Best/Favorite Anime?? (Spoilers for Everything)

Some of my favorite anime include:

Chrno Crusade: About an exiled, near powerless demon (Chrno) who makes a deal with a young girl (Rosette) in order to save her brother from the clutches of the evil demon Aion, who plans on using the 7 Holy Apostles (named after the 7 virtues) to conquer the world. It's a really well developed plot with likable characters and a beautiful ending. It is 24 episodes long.

Death Note and Code Geass: As mentioned previously, great plot twists that keep you interested in every episode.

Baccano! - Great little series that jumps back and forth a bit through several timelines. Reason to watch: it features the mafia, immortals, and the "Rail Tracer"!

Full Metal Alchemist- Both the original and the new one are solid shows with wonderful characters and great story depth.

Almost anything by Hayao Miyazaki- He really is the "Walt Disney of Japan" for a reason. Just don't watch Gedo Senki, it's made by his son Goro and you can tell because it's not very good. While you are at it, don't forget to watch Grave of the Fireflies by his colleague Isao Takahata- you will definitely cry with this movie!

Blood + is also a great watch!

Good choice :p

Still if you like it, check out the manga, its soo much better. What really bugged me about the anime is how they turned Aeon into a 0815 I wanna rule the world villian. Hes not like this in the manga. And there is a lot of other stuff thats pretty messed up in the anime. It folows the original plot for about 50% and then turns into something completly different.

In the manga Aeons character is really deep, you see his motivation and reasons. All the other sinners are similar, they're not "good" or anything but one sees and understands their motivation, there reason, they're real charcters who have hopes and fears.
Also the complete backstory of the sinners is different, they have there own "tragic background" etc. I dont know if the anime ever mentions the "story of the 6 sinners that went to the end of the world" ;)
I also doubt that the anime focused on the connection between Aeon and Chrno and their relationship (I havent watched it that far, I just read a lot about how they changed the story which shocked me) which is another tragedy all by itself.

Chrno Crusade definitly is my favorite manga right now. I loved the maintheme "how do you live your live when you know your time is limited / How can you "run" all your live" and all the tragic that came with it, but also the positive stuff. It just never was too much of one side. I were laughing and at the same time I felt the kinda depressing "aura" that surrounded the scene and that never completly went away.
Also the rather short story was fitting the entiry theme perfectly.
And all the characters who each on their own were just struggeling for their individual freedom were awesome since there were no characters that were to shonen like, especially the villains. Also Rosette never was too much of the a) whiny girl who needs to be saved or the b) bossy tomboy type but a nice mix.

Through I'll give the anime that it had the best ending ever, although I liked the mangas closing words more.

~~~
Yeah I'm just getting used to writing novels as a simple reply :p
My current favorite is "Welcome to the NHK", really nice characters, a good "slice of live" tragic story, characters you can particially identify with and also a very disturbing look at certain aspects of japanese culture. *stops himself from writing another novel*
One Piece
Detective Conan
In 5 hours One Piece Episode 419 will be on air!
kanon, a high school student moves to his cuzens town and has no idea of wat happend in his past and keeps meeting all the the people he meet as a kid and remembers everything little by little,its a very funny anime with some realy sad parts in it ,
Anyone see baccano yet? It's not on my favorites list, but the way they tell the story is very interesting.
Yeah, it kept me on the edge of my seat for the last 6 episodes. lol I really do like how they were telling 3 different stories at the same time though. Made the story a whole lot more interesting.
4. D. Gray-Man - Very good cool fight scenes interesting storyline and Exorcists What more could you want
5. Evangelion - Enough Said
9. Black Cat- Gunslinger anime!
10. Cowboy Bebop- an alltime fave from when i was a kid
HOKUTO NO KEN
i dont want to spoil it for anyone, i suggest checking it out... also, check out the following:
1. Initial D - awesome street racing anime
2. Berserk - an anime so manly it helped pioneer a new genre that is called "manime"
3. Dragon Ball Kai - if you like DBz, its slimmed from around 280 down to like 107.... and reformatted for HD...
4. Ninja Nonsense - a very comical anime that makes me laugh uncontrollably
5. Nerima Daikon Brothers - same as Ninja Nonsense, but the english cast is top-notch
6. Mobile Fighter G Gundam - amazing anime and heartwrenching love story... and mechs... awesome
...and thats what i can name off the top of my head right now...
I have something for all you folks. I'm not sure if it's been said, but Spirited Away- a movie by Hayao Miyazaki.
I have to say that this is my favorite movie of all time. It is perfect. It has everything. It's also really wierd... Great stuff though. I definately reccomend it. Anyone else seen it?
That one is really good but so is everything Miyazaki does
Goes without saying. I've seen two of his films (Spirited Away dub, Castle of Cagliostro sub), and both were absolute masterpieces on par with the best of the classic Disney movies (anything before Toy Story). Just did some minor checking, and Cagliostro was actually done in less than 4 months. In 1979. Without computers. That's IMPRESSIVE, and it's a fantastic movie, certainly better than some of the lesser Disney movies, and probably on the same level as Lion King, Aladdin, Snow White (which is really an overrated movie as-is), Sleeping Beauty, and Pinocchio. And, according to many Miyazaki enthusiasts I've spoken to, those two movies were amongst the *weakest* of all his films. From what I've heard, Princess Mononoke and Kiki's Delivery Service are superior films in almost every respect (though I've never seen either).
Want a good, lighthearted intro to the best of Anime? Watch the Castle of Cagliostro. You won't be disappointed. The car chase in the first 20 minutes is worth the price of admission (it's used, referenced, or spoofed in damn near everything), and the movie only gets *better* from there.
Yeah. I've seen Princess Mononoke, but not Cagliostro nor Kiki. I've heard great things about Kiki's. I really do need to check them out.
0__0 Holy crap. I never knew he had that much stuff. I've only seen like, 4 of those. I have some catching up to do.... lol
EVERYTHING Studio Ghibli or Miyazaki. There's some kewl stuff that Ghibli animated, but Miyazaki Didn't direct. Stuff like Grave of the Fireflies, or The Cat Returns.
Other than that:
Card Captor Sakura - Great animation, music, sweet story.
Fruits Basket - It'll really break your heart - in a good way.
Death Note - Might be boring for some, but the plot twists and mind games are engaging.
Magic Knight Rayearth - Awesomeness fantasy.
Tsubasa: The Reservoir Chronicle - Most confusing story ever - in the manga. Anime is okay, but manga is the best evar imho. Art and music is awesome.
Rurouni Kenshin - Yes it is old, but it's one of the best series ever. Just watch all the OAVs and don't watch the TV series past the Kyoto Arc (ep 60-ish).
Metropolis - Ozamu Tezuka for the 21st century... *drool*
Steamboy - Like Akira but it actually makes sense! Great story and animation.
The When They Cry series is my favorite by far. Although I prefer the Visual Novels over the Anime I think that DEEN did an okay job making an adaption to the series. The Anime is okay if you don't feel like spending 15 hours or more reading just one arc but it leaves out a lot of stuff that could have (and should have) been added.
