"Best of" Awards

As we near the end of 2006, I thought it would be kind of a cool idea to have some sort of a pole on the gym were people can vote for the best of the Tcg in 2006. People could vote in such catogories as best Deck of 2006, best player in 2006 in each age group (based on factors such as multiple top placings, as well as things such as being a good role model etc.) maybe a best deck builder of 2006, etc... Just my idea, any thoughts?

Good idea, aside from the fact htat the only important, widespread thing that everybody knows is when Martin got banned.
It's just too up in the air and unorganized.
I could say Best costume of person eating an apple.
If someone could think of a better way...

Well, here is a sample of the catagories that I was thinking of:

Best overall player of 2006 (one per age group)

Best Deck of 2006 (based on the # of top placings)

Best Event of 2006 (based on # of players, how well the event was run, and influence on the rest of the year)

Best Deck builder (based o how many top tier decks this player created in 2006)

Biggest News Story of 2006

Best card art of 2006 (just because there is alot of cool art, and these cards should get a chance to be regonized even if they are not playable cards.

Best Set of 2006 (based on how it changed the game in general.)

To start of with, people could nominate a specific player, event, deck, etc. To do so, you must provide some specific criteria as to why this should be an option, and in order to be a choicein the vote, a player, event, deck must have a specific # of nominations. From there, we could hava a vote to crown the winner in each group.

Best Set: DS for the holon engine.

Best Deck Builder: E4 and Pooka

Best award given at the worlds 2006 piglett draft? I saw a ton of them , my son took home the oversized electabuzz card but that was not the best.
