I actually really like Golduck in anything that plays the singleton Psyduck for the Rayeels matchup. It makes the Psyduck less useless in other matchups, as it can come in and start stalling against a LOT of attackers in the format (Darkrai, Terrakion, Mewtwo, Registeel, list goes on) and can also smash Landorus EX, Entei EX, and Charizard for weakness. It even OHKOs an Eelektrik in a pinch, helping out with the Rayeels matchup when they're low on Fires.

Honestly? If you play Psyduck, there's almost no reason NOT to play it as a 1-1 line. It takes your one trick pony and makes it immensely more flexible. I LOVE Golduck from this set.

Did anybody actually read the Switch?

"If your name is TPCi, switch out Bicycle, Escape Rope, Ether and Virbank City Gym from this set and replace it with utter crapola so that people buy your new set. Then, punch your opponent in the face and revel as he or she cries. Your opponent is now Knocked Out. Don't forget to steal his or her wallet on the way out!"

Was I the only one who noticed it?

I think it dragged the joke out a bit too long with the punching bit.

Agreed. It kind of went to the degree that even though it started out funny, by the end I felt bad about finding it funny.

Just the joke about changing the cards out, perhaps with a more spot on observation (which is a whole other topic).

I personally felt that it was very unprofessional, as well as another post he made a few days later. Especially since it isn't like this type of occurrence hasn't happened before, and that the cards reprinted are mainly cards that aren't ever going to get rotated.

I'm not trying to be "professional." PokeBeach is my blog and always has been. I don't know why this is so shocking to people. I could be "professional" if I wanted to be (working in the film industry makes you that way and I am a complete "professional" when it comes to my work in the real world), but that's definitely not the approach I take with my news stories. I'm sorry if you thought that my news stories are professional, and perhaps some of my professionalism has leaked on to the site as I've grown older, but I'm really just doing PokeBeach for fun / as a hobby / stress relief / my love of Pokemon / my love of the fandom. I keep my professionalism where it needs to be in real life, and I don't think an online Pokemon fan website needs to fall under that. Otherwise my site would turn into a chore, and myself just a news producing machine (a slave), and that's just no fun. :)
