Questions before I start counting/sorting...

1) How does the buyer want the cards? In boxes? Sleeved holos? etc...

2) Should the cards be sorted by set? (I cannot imagine being the buyer and sorting over 100,000 cards...)

It is indeed the Gathering Ground. Won't 'advertise' their site but it's pretty obvious...
I just went to the local store and sold a portion of my unneeded collection today. These guys are trustworthy, and they don't rip you off (as far as Drew's post goes, he refuses to reveal his vendor, which means it's little more than "HEHEHEH I FUND A BETTER PLACE BUT I WONT TELL LAWLPWNED" these guys can be trusted and are professionals in what they do. Looking forward to selling the remainder on Monday.

I would sell to him but I have to save my commons to give out in packs of 20 for Halloween. We have been doing that for the past three years and plan to have an all out Pokeween this next Oct. I just keep thinking of that Seinfeld show when Kramer was going for the 10 cent refund on the pop bottles in Michagan. Since New York was 5 cents. They were trying to beat the overhead on weight and gas and things like that. So in this case the guy is going to bring up a trailer. Pay for booth space at Origins. Pay for gas to bring a heavy load home. There has to be some comedy in there somewhere.

I get this feeling that I'll know the location by the very large line of Pokemon players with boxes upon boxes of cards being sold on Day 1.

Ok, now that the cat is out, it is the Gathering Ground.

These guys are a huge dealer, and do not care if the cards are separated by set. They don't need to be sorted by number. They just need to be sorted by the selection (Rare, Promo, Holo, Common/UC, Reverse Holo and the like).

They will buy all promos too, and treat those as a separate issue. Common POP cards are still commons, but the other promos, they know what they were doing.

They generally use the "stack sytem" to determine 100s, but trust their sellers. After a few thousand you can tell the difference between a 95 card stack and a 100 card stack.

These guys are serious and are ready to go. They will have CASH ON HAND. No giving them your stuff and then waiting. No dealing with the mail, and no having your cards rejected.

I am getting together another 10000 cards this weekend to hand to them to help with my gas expenses!

Thanks for clearing things up Vince! I've got a box of these cards set up. Non holo rares banded, promos banded, RH commons and uncommons banded, RH rares banded, and holos banded. Looking forward to this!

I'll see what they can give me for some of my random junk. If I can pay for my gas off this, then I'll be happy...

Yeah. How will Reverse's be handled, I assume based on how useful they are, but just curious.

Also, what about Pre-Release cards? Are they considered promos, or just the rarity they would normally be?

I don't see what doesn't make sense here. Here's a list of priority:

*
ex
Rev Holo
Holo

So, Umbreon* is considered a * before rare, Ttar ex is considered an ex before a rare, anything rev holo is considered rev holo before it's considred a rare OR a holo, and anything holo (countless old promos that had commons reprinted as holos, etc) is considred holo before common

Dont you think with so many people knowing about this he will be broke? Are you going to have a limit or just non stop?

You can't break the Gathering Ground.

Why would he spend the table fee, and travel to set up at Origins, manage to get a spot RIGHT NEXT to the Pokemon Booth, and make this offer if he couldn't make it work!

If he runs out of cash, I will be shocked. Let's face it, he is asking to buy 30K of just commons and reverse foils!!

Vince

Wait, when did he EVER say he wanted your source? All he did was tell you that you being all secretive doesn't help anyone.

Your acting just like a child drew.

"I know something you don't know. I know something you don't know"

Geez, this information is helping the entire community and your just trying to make yourself seem better than everyone.

Steve, I never used those words, I was just saying that if you did an search it would take you about 30 minutes or less to figure it out. It really isn't THAT hard to find. I am not saying players SHOULDN'T sell to Gathering Ground, just saying that there are better deals that are a little less convenient. If I was most of these players who had these extra cards, I would most likely sell to them. I however, try to find the best deal possible and the do that. I will say that you could if done right get about .04-.06 a card if you sell a huge lot on ebay. I really don't appriciate you do that. I don't go out of my way to insult you, I feel that most of the time I try to be very nice. I think you should read what you said and think about how you would of reacted if someone posted that about you. I don't want to hear that if you were doing that you would deserved to be called childish and such.

Don't worry about it Squirtle, I found the site in a matter of seconds. XD

I plan to use this guy at origins anyway. I could use the cash pretty quickly, and I don't have thousands of cards to get rid of. I just want to clear out for the new format anyhow. If I can get a quick 100 bucks, I'll be happy.

See, I wasn't lying, I said it was easy to find, and look you found it fast just like I said. I am not trying to say anything negative of this guy just that I personally won't be selling to him. (Not to mention I really don't have room in my suitcase because of all the JPN Items I am brining to trade.)

The only way I would bring stuff is if he was buying NON-MINT Ex's because I have a heck of a lot of those I could deal without. But other than that I will be looking to trade for Mint Ex's via JPN Items.

Drew

You can't break the Gathering Ground.

In a way, the limit is equal to the amount of pokemon players at Origins, minus the amount who don't visit pokegym or don't have connections to here. And then there are the people who may not have a lot of c/ucs to sell because they don't keep them or maybe they don't want to sell or even forgot to bring the cards.

I'm still looking around my house but I think I've rounded up most of the cards I'm looking to sell.

If you search the internet I am sure you would be able to find it. I am not going to give you it. I had to do some searching to find it, and the fact is you just want the quick and easy answer, search the internet and find it. It isn't THAT hard to find if you did a bit of research.

Drew

Your little "source" is irrelevant, then. You don't need to bring it up at all.
