I'm hoping for a hard counter to Lost World (assuming it is printed in English at all).

Something like this:

Locked Gym

Stadium

[picture of of a Gym door with a big lock and a "Be back later" note on it.]

Players may not play any Stadium cards.

Return Locked Gym to it's owner's hand whenever it would be placed into the discard pile.

The Gym Leader is out, please come back later.
That's not just a counter, that's a nail in the coffin for Lost World. They may as well just not print Lost World.

A counter would be good, but not THAT good of a counter. I just want a somewhat more limited way to get things back from the Lost Zone. It should be more limited that discard recovery, but still somewhat helpful. A coming into play power, maybe?

It's not a full proof counter because of Alph Litho 3. It would also be of general use as a general purpose counter stadium. Then there is also the issue with Flygon...

I just think the format needs something to make Lost World players have to shudder a bit.

Am I seriously the only one that runs Cyrus in non-SP dex?

I'm sure your not. ^^ Most people just think the SP engine ONLY works in SP decks therefor bypass hte entire idea. It probably can and does work, just not nearly as effectively as it could. :thumb:

Agreed. I'm all for playing Lost World (even planning on taking it for a spin come Spring BR's) but you're right. Each deck needs a plausible counter. Otherwise we'll end up with the Beat-up-sneasel year all over again.

Well by seeing that hounddom they showed and that hitmole they are just reprinting stuff from heart gold soul silver so dont evan kid your self people. They may have dce in this set and pokemon collector so that will be good to havemore key cards.

The best thing would be if they nerf Lost World in a way that it can't be used by the player who just played it in this turn (they did a similar thing to Rare Candy in Japan, so why not?). This gives the opponent the opportunity to play a kickgym before he loses. It would also balance the metagame since it makes cool cards like Flygon and Steelix more attractive and force decks like Luxchomp or Sablelock to play Stadiums.

Nah, they won't reprint Claydol. Watch them print:

Grumpig - hp80 - Psychic
Pokepower: Pearl Power
Once during your turn, before your attack, you may use this power. Put 1 or 2 cards from your hand on the bottom of your deck, then draw cards until you have 6 cards in your hand. This power cannot be used if Grumpigis affected by a special condition.
[P][C] Bounce 40
Weakness: [P] x2
Resistance:
Retreat Cost: [C][C]

See? Totally NOT a Claydol reprint.
nice
lol
XD

but seriously
i want warp point to be reprinted

is that to much to ask?

Black and white cards in the next set?

What do you think the chancers are that they could slip in a few Black and White cards in early in our next set?

Gust of Wind?
Well, they could do that and then declare Call of Legend for not tournament legal. Would be a pain for the moment, but the best for the metagame in the long run.

One more reason to use Drifblim FB!

I think Pidgeot from FRLG would be an exciting reprint. Not only would it give slower setup decks a new lease on life; it would also be extremely balanced versus SP due to its OHKO potential versus Garchomp, as well as its be-OHKO'd status vs Flash Impact and Dragon Rush+Flash Bites.

This game was at its healthiest from 2004-2006, and Pidgeot is largely responsible for this.

I agree with that. I guess what I meant to say was I wanted a Pidgeot Prime and a Vaporeon Prime and hope the Pidgeot could have a power like the FRLG one.

Just means that those of us who get boxes are going to have SO MANY Riolus/Tangelas/whatever other commons we have. XD

OR it could just mean that TPCi changed the card numbering system, which would not be altogether unlikely given Call of Legends is the first and only set of its own series.

...is it just me or are they actually trying to tell us that 80 damage for 5 energy is good on a card?

They explicitly added "for a basic pokemon", so the statement isn't completely off even if basic Pokemon mostly suck at attacking.

Maybe Lugia may be playable if they reprinted Fossil Aerodactyl that devolves all other Pokemon when it comes into play. You guy would have a feel for the good old days.

Rayquazza's 4 for 150 and discard them all is light years better than any of these...
and Ray is barely playable in just the right deck.

Zangoose was confirmed as a nonholo rare, #39/95
http://www.pokemon.com/us/trading-cards/col-series/col1/featured/

Which means that counting the secret rares, there are (at least) 50 rares in a set of 106... looks like we're in for quite a treat! Or a collecting nightmare, however you want to look at it.

I think the Legends will be as rare as the Arceus cards were, in other words not that hard to get. Wont be any harder to collect this set then any of the other recent sets.

Fossil Areodactyl did not deevolve anything. It just stopped pokemon from evolving when Aerodactyl was put into play.
How would devilving anything help Lugi in the first place? If you want to devolve you can do it with Omnestar, but no one plays it.

^Sorry about that. I meant an Aerodactyl that also devolves pokemon in addition to its fossil ability. In this way, evolved pokemon are effectively unplayable. I can see how you interpreted my previous statement the way you did.
