There are so many good supporters and trainers they could have chosen, or even double colorless instead of the special metals and darks (which are goign to be league promos :///////////). It is like the most purposefully bad set ever.

Also kids are going to play that dialga because it is dialga. I do not know why that attack was even made.

Speaking of which . . . where is LW?

Is Pokebeach holding out on us as some kind of joke?

Does it have TSD-style rarity and they don't have a scan?

People with 47 Gengar Primes to sell want to know (not me btw).
 
Why assume that Lost World not having been shown yet is anything to do with its rarity? There are a LOT of unknowns. Seriously, there's still at least 3 commons that haven't been shown yet, as well as 2 reprint Trainer/Supporter/Stadiums. (One of which I highly suspect is Poke Ball.) Judging by the rares, they've probably only seen a couple of dozen packs' worth of cards tops. Just be patient. It is obviously in here.


What disappoints me is that they didn't give us the alternate art Rare Candy here. Alt. Pokemon Reversal is still POSSIBLE, but not likely IMO. I still suspect that T/S/S is Poke Ball. All those filler T/S/S (Seriously, of all the known reprint T/S/S, only Dual Ball hasn't been in a Theme Deck, and Cheerleeder's Cheer is the only one that's only been in 1) and they didn't give us alt. Candy. :'( We'll probably never get it.


Still, complaining aside, I like the set. Most of the art is amazing, and it's a good way for people that have been a bit slack on getting HGSS cards to catch up. I'll likely get a box at some point if possible. It definitely doesn't deserve anywhere NEAR the amount of criticism it's getting. You all knew it would be primarily a reprint set, and the inclusion of Houndoom and Hitmonlee made it always very likely to be comprised of HGSS cards. You've had all this time to get used to the idea, you should have gotten over it long ago.

It was a joke. The whole tone of the post was joking about people's LW anxiety.

I'm not into overanalysing spoilers and trying to guess sets. It's a waste of time. We get what we get, when we get it.
 
I promised myself that if there was a dialga in this set, I was gonna play it for states.
Not so sure about that anymore 'o_O

Wow, nothing to look forward to except holo energies, gonna be the first set since SF that I won't get a box for. Reprinting 30HP baby Pokemon as a rare is a giant slap in the face considering some of the other cards they could've included.

no it isn't.

I just compared them, the new one is at a different angle, besides, the backgrounds are different, similar, but different.

Anyway, onto my opinion of this set:

hmm, useless promo...reprint...lost link card...useless promo...reprint...lost link card...reprint...another reprint...oh what a surprise! another reprint...oh what's this, a pidgeotto!? wait a second! This one looks awfully familiar, like the one from triumphant, wasn't that released a few months ago?

seriously, P!P, reprinting cards that were just released! (pidgey evolution line) what is going on?

basically, the only Good/OK things in this set (in a half collector, half rogue deck builder) point of view are:

  • artwork, especially vulpix, it looks like it's doing some kind of karate kick, hiyaah!!!
  • lost world *shudder* *shudder* *kid shouting in background "ïts going to suck in our souls!"*
  • other lost link cards cos they're new unlike some cards *looks to pidg/ey/otto/eot*
  • shiny cards cos they're shiny
  • Reverse holo hgss energies, they're just like the hgss ones, but reverse holo!
I guess that's a lot of good things for a bad set, well actually, not all of those are good, some are just OK. My favourite are the shiny cards since they are a new concept and they look cool and the holo energies are cool too, other than that, the set is horrible!

I know P!P were quite restricted since they were only allowed to use hgss block cards, since using cards from earlier sets would probably anger the pokemon-card-gods back in japan. But couldn't P!P at least have reprinted some good cards like rare candy, dce, jumpluff, etc.
Guess not.

Anyway, that's my opinion/rant on this new set.

Boycott this set!!!
Other than singles of Lost World, there are going to be no other useful cards in the set!
Do not buy any boxes! Show Pokemon that we will not tolerate them putting out a completely useless set such as this!!!
 
Oh my god, this is hilarious.

The Phanphy and Pineco (which has moved slightly to the left) are my favorites.

They really had crap to work with, though.
 
It's a small set, thus we might get a higer concentraton of them per box then normal.
Mime Jr will be uncommon, they could have been mean and make that a rare.

It does look like it will be Hitmonlee FTW at pre-releases.
 
Mah... and I really thought TPCi wouldn't do something like that.

So for the first time ever I'll be happy that our LD just gives out German sets as prizes.
Guess our States will have lots of attendance cause all players from the neighbour countries rather want Triumphant than CoL.
