They better give us Pokemon Collector atleast. =/

And tell me its not true that the "Shiny" Pokemon are also available as just regular Holos but non-shiny

should I still go to the prerelease? I think I could buy this whole set as singles for $25 on troll and toad =/

To be fair, this set is supposed to be a 'transition' set between HGSS block and BW block. It makes sense not to have Legends/Primes/Lv X cards because they're not in the next block. It also makes sense to have the 'special' cards printed twice, because that's what we're getting in BW. (To be even more fair, in BW it's only two cards per set, for a grand total of four... we may be looking at ELEVEN. >.<)

At least the new Phanpy is better than the HGSS one. Also, there seem to be a few decent starters for the PR... Mawile, Tangela, Relicanth, Skarmory, etc. New Vulpix artwork is boss, can't wait to see Ninetales.

And I have to agree with previous posters... I thought the reprint Pop was talking about would be something like Collector or Bebe's. PONT is nice, but without even new artwork..... Am I the only one who thinks they really missed an opportunity to make the sneak peek rewards Rare Candy the alternate artwork one? If it were in the set I could understand not using it, but where we're probably never going to GET that artwork now it seems kind of a waste.

I'm going to laugh so hard if #79 turns out to be Gust of Wind....

Also, concerning the RH HGSS energy.... yes, people have been taking about it, but I think the community would have been more impressed if they'd been the Arceus halfdeck exclusive energy in RH form. That way they weren't seen as 'just another reprint'. At least those of us who like the HGSS art will be able to holo out our decks without using the Matrix energy.

Aside from the fact that there's practically no value to most players - not even Lost World imo - what makes matters worse is that this set is getting DUMPED on players that go far at States/Regionals. Wonderful.

What's even better is that the PTOs get dumped on with this set because, let's face it, no one's going to want much of anything from this set other than the obvious Lost World, and MAYBE those confirmed energies. Which then means that PR attendance will be pretty bad.

This set really, REALLY disgusts me, as there was so much potential. There was so many cards for which they COULD have reprinted; but, instead, we get a set that does nothing for no one except newer players - which, while that is a great service to new players, they could have done a service for all players and actually created a set with some value outside of Lost World.

My grapes. How sour they are.

We are obviously waiting for the surprise. As we open all the presents under the christmas tree, hoping for a gift that is hidden under the wrapping paper.

I had a running joke about making a Garchomp C/ Seviper deck, with the emphasis that anything with Garchomp C is going to be good. The new Seviper actually looks interesting, assuming after rotation that it can get auto poissoned. Obviously it works well with Toxi-tank now, but that might be a bit underpowered in the current format.

This is a huge slap in the face to all the dedicated players of the community. P!P had an oppurtunity to balance possibly op'd cards by making orginals or reprinting some really good cards from the EX series. And on top of that, they decided to take the Shiny legends, and make a non shiny version for each of them to fill up the holo rares. Seriously I think they were being really lazy on this one. I mean seriously, look at pineco, he's just on the left side of the card now.

However there is still hope, there are still energy spots, and scramble or dre, or even a new really good special energy could fit in there. There are to remaining trainer spots.

I'm keeping positive, but P!P has made really bad choices IMO. With the way the grinder turned out for juniors and seniors, and now this.

Let's hope for the best, and WPM needs to stop teasing and put up the scans that are more important

It's funny, Phanpy's Pokébody does literally nothing since you cannot have energy attached to a Phanphy, so no Phanphy can get a reduction in damage.

Seriously, you'd think that after the FILP a coin incident they'd pay a bit attention to what they type on their cards...

In my opinion, the product managers at TPC realized the tough situation and tried to make the best of it. Yeah maybe they could have done better, but they're even bringing out the next set (B&W) one month sooner. Facing the facts, none of us knows how much revenue booster pack sales bring in Target/Wal-Mart/etc, but I'm sure it's substantial where they still needed to publish a new set to satisfy the non-competitive market.

So regarding the couple of "slap in the face" comments posted so far, no one is forcing us to buy these cards. No one is forcing us to spend money on a pre-release. If you don't like the set, just buy Lost World singles and call it a day.

I like a lot of the new artwork for this set. The Eevee looks really weird, but whatever.
The set should be really good for Limited play. Hitmonlee? Eeveelutions? Mawile? Pidgey? Sounds good to me.

Wait, so there aren't any non-Japanese exclusive cards (like in Power Keepers)? There aren't any Primes or Legends in this set at all? Or have we just yet to see them? I'm confused..
The vendor ads (on ToyWiz, Collector's Cache, CardOrder, PokeOrder, etc.) for the booster box says that Call of Legends includes "...Prime Pokemon made exclusively for English-speaking fans!"

We're all aware that we're not being forced to buy these cards. But when the rulebook for the Pokemon TCG specifies things like the "health of the format," when players voice their complaints over a stale format, and when it feels like each set is just dud after dud, I don't see why they can't be competitive business-wise and still make a half-decent set. In terms of business, doesn't it make sense to produce a product that is appealing to every type of customer?

We're not forced to buy the packs, but they're basically going to be giving a box of garbage to people that perform well at state championships

The only other way of looking at this set as a positive set is thinking about stuff we are not certain about like next format/rotation. If it's HGSS in 2011-2012 we'll be glad cards like Ninetales were reprinted, but again it's speaking about the uncertain. Since we only know what is in B&W only the PokeGods know what the format will be like for next year.

But the format does look bright for next season. It seems every type has some form of energy acceleration/manipulation.

Metal = Skarmory
Fire = Typhlosion
Water = Feraligatr
Grass = Meganium and Celebi
Electric = Pachirisu, this one is a little hard unless something is printed that lets you move electric energy
Psychic = Jirachi + Misgamigus, or just Mismagius alone
Colorless = Double Colorless Energy

i mean come on p!p. during 2008-2009 series la sf pl and rr were released which were all awesome. this year all the sets that came out have been at the best okay

So...

81 - Lost World (according to French site scan)
82 - Professor Elm (according to Beach)

That means that Pokemon Collector and Pokemon Communication aren't reprinted in the set.

:(

This is only a 40+ scans, and shouldn`t it be like 150 new cards? If that is correct, it is stil some hope for some better cards?

There's only 95 cards in the set (not counting outside the set numbered cards). I doubt it'll peak 105.

And you have to remember the basic cards whose evolutions will obviously be included.

I thnk the awesome reprint PokePop talked about were the energies, its kinda sad but Ill have to agree that basic energies are the best this set has to offer :/ Still waiting for something to appear, there has to be SOMETHING in this set :/
