Uhm...no? Rayquaza EX is bad. Or, to be a lil more politically correct, not as good as people think it is.
The real reason Rayquaza is so good is because it one-shots Tynamos, Swablus, Altarias, Gibles, Gabites for 1 single energy. That is unheard of.

And just how bad is Rayquaa ex in a metagame where he can OHKO anythign and only be one shotted back by itself or a Stage 2 with 2+ energy? Rayquaza ex was never bad, he was just severally over hyped on the gym. I'm just saying he is the next Gengar Prime, way over hyped, not a metagame distroying card, but good in certain decks. He was always limited by the regular Rayquaza. And i listed all that as stregnths as well.

Yeah but im pretty sure normal rayquaza cant one shot every ex in the format pretty easily in decks that have a decent energy acceleration. Normal rayquaza is a great card though i will admit that and i think they will both break the format.... together

p.s. rayquaza normal also one shots deinos and zweilous from dragons exalted

While rayquaza ex seems really strong on paper, in reality getting 4 energy on him (and one of those has to be an awkward type; ie Fire for eelektrik and Lightning for Emboar) is hard and I don't think you can pull it of very often. rayquaza and garchomp keeps him in check as well. maybe in a different format he could do well. but not in this.

obviously he will still see play, because people wanna try him out. but I think they will realize soon that he isn't that great at all.

well 3 eels or 2 eels and a energy switch and rayquaza is doing 180 damage and looking at how the eels deck plays that is not hard at all. Then if you run him with emboar you can do unlimited damage. Its like your saying magnezone wasnt good and i know one thing that put magnezone over the top was the power but rayquaza is a basic with 170 hp and 1 retreat makes it even better. Ill admit garchomp and hydregon keep it in check but against every other deck it is a vital threat because they cant one shot it but you can one shot them. I think it will be one of the next best cards in format. Again look at magnezone being almost the best card in format adn valued at 60 dollars and rayquaza does practicallly the same thing but its discard and it does 60 instead

you can't compare magnezone with rayquaza. magnezone has one of the best abilities (or pokepower) in the game. also its attack can use any energy on the field. it is very different from rayquaza ex

but they both have similar attacks which is what we are debating about and in most ways rayquazas attack was better and a deck based off of magnezone as the main attacker won worlds so i believe i can compare it. 3 energies for magnezone was childs play to get rid of so why not on rayquaza? you might say that magnezone could lost burn from anywhere but rayquaza is a basic so it is just as easy

I hadn't realized that Mew EX can use your opponent's Pokemon's attacks as well as your own. That's pretty awesome. Can't wait to see what kinds of decks people come up with...

There is a good chance we will get rayquaza because giratina EX comes after garchomp (garchomp 91- Dieno 93), then there will be Altaria, reg rayquaza, rayquaza EX.

What?

Durant is 83, and Altaria is 84. Since Gible is 86, there is one space between Altaria and Gible. Rayquaza-EX is confirmed to be 85, so there's no room for regular Rayquaza.

Shiny Rayray is $50 on T&T. It'll probably be $100+ by tomorrow T_T

Only because the excitable and gamblers will buy them up. I'll be honest, if I had the money lying around, I'd order one as well to flip ASAP. Too much risk to hold onto it until right before Battle Roads, for example.

There is at least a chance we'll get the promo version (I've seen the art-blacking out the offending character or deleting him entirely is perfectly plausible). Bit of "fail" that the promo wasn't released with the actual game; think of how many extra sales it would have generated... for all involved. TCG players will buy duplicates of the game knowing the other version was so rare in Japan (and is rare here). Non-TCG players just got a valuable TCG card, enticing them to give it a try (or at least allowing some to buy the game and sell the card to shrink the cost). Lastly for people who new at least something of the TCG but have been out of touch, it'd hype up the new Dragon Type.

Garchomp is more expensive than Hydreigon on TnT and Mew Ex is about $30 for full art on there too.

I think that once people get to play testing prices will drop on most things.

My guess will be:

Garchomp $10-15
Mew EX $15-20
Hydreigon $7-10
Rayquaza $40-50

My guess would be based on the combination of rarity and playability.

Garchomp - $5-6
Mew EX - $20
Hydreigon - $9-10
Rayquaza - $80-100

No way Rayquaza will settle at a price higher than Mewtwo EX FA did after release. It's not even in the same league in playability.
