Andrew W played Storm as well and he finished 2nd. Tough Deck, had Arcanine Ex instead of
Steelex EX. Worked just as well as Ross's classic Storm Deck. I was able to beat it once in T8 play
but it was too fast to beat twice. My only losses were to the 1st, 2nd and 4th place finishers so I was very pleased.. Looking foreward to Gym Challenge so Team Washington can continue our dominance.

Posting as Director of the Official Pokemon TCG Washington-Oregon Battle For Northwest Superiority Not Sanctioned By Nintendo (OPTWOBFNSNSBN).
Washington indisputedly won both the 10- and 15+ division points for the Northwest Regionals. However, there is some controversy to which state is awarded the 11-14 point. Daniel R, the winner of the 11-14, lives in Washington. However, he and his father play more on a regular basis in Oregon due to their location. When asked who they play for, the father said Oregon and the son said Washington =/. Obviously this is not a clear decision to be made. The Rules of the OPTWOBFNSNSBN are whatever the director of the OPTWOBFNSNSBN releases them to be. The only written rules are from the original OPTWOBFNSNSBN which obviously need to change on a yearly basis so the original document is not always the final say on rulings. The rules I officially announced for the OPTWOBFNSNSBN are in this post
http://pokegym.net/forums/showpost.php?p=486133&postcount=23

It discusses players from Washington and Oregon which Daniel R could be considered either way. However this post was also released by me, the director in response to a question.
http://pokegym.net/forums/showpost.php?p=486996&postcount=39
This post discusses residents of the two states and I believe Daniels residency is officially that of Washington. With that, I am awarding that point to Washington.
Now remember, the Director's decisions may be challenged by the rules of the Vancouver convention. If you don't know the rules established in the Vancouver convention that is alright. If an Oregon player would like to issue a formal challenge to my ruling, please PM me. You will have to be able to defend your case.
If nothing happens though, the score will remain Washington 9 Oregon 0. With 2 GCs in OR and 1 in WA, Washington needs to win just 1 age division at one GC to clinch the 2006 OPTWOBFNSNSBN. Oregon must win all 9 divisions to force a tie. We'll see what happens about a month and a half from now. I should point out Washington has two of its best players (myself and Stuart) unable to play at these events due to our prior invitation to Worlds 06.

What I don't get is...

Why would anyone who lives in Washington want to pretend that they are from Orgeon? Although I can understand the reverse  - Go Team Washington

Top 16 NW Regional 15+

Last year in the Regional Championship in the 15+ the top 32 made the finals, although there were enough players registered this year for a top 32 again, the
organizers were only alowed to cut to the top 16 this year. So a lot of players who would have made it last year got cut this time...
Hopefully next year they will be able to bring back the top 32 again that way
everyone who goes 4-2 and deserves to make the finals will make it.
4-2 players who did not make top 16: Roberta Benson, Mike Willet, Michael Chin,
Isak Free, Boots Favier, Richard Scott and Daniel McPike

Anyways if anyone is curious here is the list of the top 16 15+

With 68 players in the 15+ the proper cut is to the top 16. The goal is to move approximately 1/4 of the players into the playoffs.

To get to a top 32, we would need over 91 players in the 15+ age group, according to the POP Tournament guidelines. The TO should also run another round of swiss. This would add another hour and a half to the tournament, and since we have to be out of the building by midnight, we have to bump the start time up another hour and a half. Registration would run from 7:30 AM to 9:00 AM. (I suspect that this would slow down the registration process. Realistically, how many of you would really show up at 7:30 on a Saturday? My guess is that we would get a flood of players at 8:30 or so.)

Last years Regionals

Last year the 32 made the cut I know that becuase my wife went 4-3 finsished 31st after Swiss play and made it to the finals, while I went 3-4 and played in the side event all by myself.

I guess I stand corrected

Well I guess I remembered wrong... Kodi agreed with me and when I asked the Head judge if he remebered if there was top 16 or top 32 last year, he said he remebered there being a top 32 last year
as well. Penny inisted that she made top 16 last year, turns out she was correct. Oh well I still feel bad for the 4-2 players who didnt make the cut.
