Petition:// Remove New Fossil Rule

So, wait, the only rule you think *****! is the fossil change?

Why do the fossils have to have high HP or attacks? They'd really just have to balance it out by giving better attacks and stats to the Fossil evolutions... and traditionally they've been pretty beefy (hi Cradily SS, sup Armaldo ex) though not broken.

Besides, it doesn't make sense for a fossil to attack at all. It's a 100% non-living thing. Part of the process of getting the Fossil based pokemon in the games is putting the fossil through a machine or what have you to revive it.

I really think you're just having sour grapes over your silly PoliStall deck. =/ By the way, that isn't the only way to play Politoed and is a rather outdated and useless archetype.

Since when can a Pikachu OHKO a Steelix? I wasn't aware of a Pikachu that could do 100+ damage after resistance...

*points at stupid anime for the pikachu OHKOing A steelix*

Polistall is pretty...stupid but I play it simply because I like it, sue me Tag, seriously, who cares if its non living? fact of the matter is its pointless making it so you draw A prize from killing them if they do NOTHING

Rotation forces people to get new decks live with it.

I had an awsome gardy ex, gardy RS wobbafett deck that I can't use anymore. Oh well I moved on. You should too. In a rotation or 2 metanite will be gone, will I get upset no, I will find a new combo instead, get over it, your polistall deck is less effecient.

Claw fossil puts a damage counbter on the attacking poke, and root fossil removes damage counters from it's self

Krucifier, I look forward to you quitting when the new rules are implemented. Hopefully that'll remove you from these boards too. My initial post in this thread applies to you 100%.

How will dark/metal decks become more broken? They already have potentially 4 metal, 4 dark metal, 4 rainbow, 12 magtroforms, 4 delta rainbow, 4 multi...

Drawing a card t1 but not having access to trainers t1 is a balance thing. I still have absolutely no idea what you people are on about with that. OH MY GOD, GOING FIRST CAN NOW DRAW 1 CARD! SO CRAZY!

If your deck NEEDS!!!!!!! fossil stalls to set up, your deck doesn't sound very good. I've never played Fossils in any deck besides... well... Fossil decks, and frankly, having Fossils ignore prize rules is a fairly nasty advantage (hi, none of my basic pokemon give you prizes when KOed, and de-evolution doesn't even do it). Granted, fossil pokemon at the moment aren't very good (besides Armaldo ex) but that still doesn't justify allowing their basic pokemon to be prize-free.

Everyone saying they'll quit over this handful of new rules shouldn't even be playing, IMO... either that or they'll be like the players back in RS's day that said "oh my god, no more flip to retreat confused? MY CONFUSION DECK IS RUINED, I QUIT!"

I agree with this lol. The new rules will be good for the game...no more cheap decks. and the emboldened bit, GO TAG! these rules are put in place for a reason... you cant have a cry about them because they just wont change... no point!

Fossils where never that good anyways. I mean polistall and shedstall are dying decks, they are no longer threats that people feared to face in a battle, they are now simply deck that struggle to compete and keep up with the newer more efficient decks of todays metagame, I mean honestly how many polistall decks have been played at CCs thsi year. Out of the 7 CCs I have attented I have seen one and no shed stall. Face it the deck is dying and DP rules are the gunshot. And for people getting upset over new rule don't I mean when WOTC was gone Nintendo changed a whole bunch but Pokemon stayed strong and just because your deck is ruined is no reason to get all mad

aye laddy, but, the gun shot has not been fired yet, I guess I will have to like polistall until the bullet goes straight to the head ey? fact of the matter is it is A bull**** attempt to make more money, how could they make money off of making fossils draw prizes? so that everyone goes for the big expensive decks and not the cheap fun decks

remember, that back in the slowking days WOTC were in power...now Nintendo are.... so obviously, some things will be different. Nintendo actually make moves that are good for the game...also, Krucifier, wake up:

The PCI in Japan made these changes... we're adapting to them like we should be... you dont have to like it, but theres no point in complaining about it. Theyre doing this for a few reasons. I know that the Grinders went till 3am for a reason last year lol... because of Fossil decks. theyre trying to prevent this from happening again... regardless if the stall decks are played or not.

also if PUI stops making money then pokemon closes and then thsi forum closes and then we have to play a new card game.

But it would not matter. Every TCG (YGO, DBZ, naruto, Magic, Star Wars, heck even warhammer[figurine game]) goes through rotations and changes rules. It is hpw the gae stays fresh, different, and fun. It is also how the company is able to support the continue of that game

I hope that it was as easy as that. Just make ruleschanges that make people orbit towards more expensive cards and decks and hence make money... well in reality it isnt as easy, first, the hobby channel represents roughly the 10 to 15 per cent of the total market, mass channel is the big money maker here, where this rules changes affect or impact very little in reality, so I faill to see how this will greatly impact upon PUI's ability to make money. This rules changes impact on the second hand market, where PUI has very little to win economically speaking, just like YUGIOH, people complain about UDE reprinting cheaper version of cards, but in reality PUI wins the same amount of money from a booster with an EX thatn one with a normal rare, so a kid with 10 dollars can only buy 10 dollars worth of boosters, if there are cards that are more expensive, then he can trade or something, granted, a kid will look forward to buying more from a booster with good cards, but that has little to do with this, the point is that the rules affects very little the first hand market, and MAY impact on the second hand market.
Then, the rules changes are made by PCL, not PC directly, which means it is not a business decision, it is a GAMEPLAY decision, where PCL have very little idea of how will their rulings finally impact on the sales of their product on a larger scale, they just want to keep the game fresh.
Again, what would you consider to be "more expensive cards"? I say this because the japanese have exs on their theme decks, and all their packs have holos so I fail to find the connection again, no extra money making in making you draw for ko'ing a fossil, expensive cards here are not necesarily expensive cards on japan.
Is it a rule that is not necesarily fair? I might agree. is it sales driven? yes, only in the side that it is made to keep the game fresh, and so making sure that sales wont go bad from bad gameplay situations.
I dont see a direct link between the rules and a desire of PC, PCL or anyone at all to try to make an extra buck, and believe me, if it was any other way, then Id endorse it in terms that they are companies who exist to make money, and their means is by having the best prodcut on the market, pokemons way? having as great an OP stricture as possible.

0_o of course there are decks like raieggs and metanite, but the prices for the cards are over inflated, Polistall is rather cheap, the toads are about $15 each, and yet you pay $10 for dragonite d's and metagross d's, so all in all, polistall is cheap, so get over yourself.

all I am saying is this rule change is absolute Camel excrement if the fossils dont actually DO SOMETHINF DECENT!!!!!!!!

Maybe because no one has wisedup and decided to play it??

Since fossils are basically only used for stall decks, they should count as a prize to stop these cheap decks from winning. Plus, now they have just as much HP as the average basic pokemon, so it makes perfect sense for them to count as a prize.

I personally think this new fossil ruling is dumb also. As they are, fossil Pokemon are horribly hard to get out via fossil trainers, why make it even more harder if they now can be KOed. Yes, there are alternatives such as Strange Cave and such, but still...

But anyone using the argument that Fossil evolutions become weaker is forgetting one important fact: Those Pokémon are already virtually unplayable. (Name _one_ deck with say, Armaldo or Kabutops, that has done well recently) The only thing Fossils are used for are stalling, not evolving. If anything, this new rule will make Fossils actually see play in decks where it makes "sense" for them to be (in decks where you evolve them). Because who knows, there might actually be released strong Fossils evolutions one day.
