Pokemon Video Game Championship Series - World Championship Discussion

Well I got back and didn't get in. I had Scyther and they listed Goldeen and Jynx.
But man the battles were really long and hard. Friend of mine got into the finals, but sadly (and I mean it was really sad) that he lost. But he's more of a Singles master, so it didn't matter.
 
He was in line behind me, and we had a good chat about Pokemon. We laughed about how many hours me and my buddies had on our games and how he rented his game.
 
Philly tournament is coming up I'll be there, assuming my pokez aren't shot down but I think I'll be ok. If I don't get in then King of Prussia mall is right there and that place is crazy legit.

well, i guess i am getting old :-( my kind of lingo is more like "Radical" and "Tubular".

Crazy fresh is what i expect when i go out to eat. some Crazy fresh Lobster.

Anyway, good luck to everybody this weekend in Philly! i want to see some good tourney reports for this!

i hope that theres not alot of people at the "Philly" regionals. 4 of use are goin. 3 seniors 1 juniors. theres 3 BRs around here 2morrow so maybe people 'll go to those instead. :biggrin:

Philly is expected to have the most attendance of all the regionals.
mainly because it is the base of many popular pokemon fan sites.
Serebii and other web sites are have their base in the northeast region.
 
i thought that it was elimination rounds from the start, but the regionals faq says otherwise...

VGC Regionals Faq
Preliminary Rounds
Players in each age division will be randomly paired throughout the preliminary rounds. Players will be required to win 3 matches to advance to the elimination rounds.

Each match during the preliminary rounds is untimed, though players are expected to maintain a lively pace during game play. Matches will be played using special Nintendo DS Lite systems, located at the event.

•Players who are found to be intentionally delaying the pace of their match will be disqualified from the event.
•Players who are tardy to their match for any reason will be disqualified from the event.

the prelim rounds are still single elim. you have to win 3 times in a row to get to top 16.
the prelim rounds you are randomly paired.
the top 16 rounds you are paired against specific people.
 
I just heard from my buddy at the Philly VGC, there where so many people attending that they ran out of wristbands!
