Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

The crazy card

I find rayquaza kinda hard to use. You need a lot of energy cards in your deck to use rayquaza' because your always discarding energy cards with it. No doubt that could be bad for this deck but you could one shout it with hydreigon.

Rayquaza seems in theory like it will be pretty easy to use in eels, with 1 retreat you can get it to bench pretty easily to put lightnings back on it, you don't even have to really have fire energies, just prisms which can be used on terrakions too. But we'll see how it actually does come time. Everyone was in love with lostgar look where that went.

Also when that set comes out and rotation happens, pilskin.dec bdif

Rayquaza is kept in check by Altaria/garchomp. That's why it didn't do too hot.

If you use prism energy then you'd have to discard the prism too when you attack.

if garchomp/altaria becomes big in NA and EU, then people who wants to play rayquaza ex have to adapt. Its not like you can only use ray ex. There are also some other cards you can use in ray ex decks (raikou ex, tornadus, tornadus ex, zekrom, zekrom ex, thundurus, mewtwo ex, rayquaza)

It's not what the card does that matters (Energy Trans Powers have been around since Base).

It's what it has to work with that counts.

I'm noticing a lack of First Pass in the lists you gave. Did people decide it wasn't worth the space? (I think it's great Ultra Ball fodder)

Any card can be 'great Ultra Ball fodder', but it's better if they can do other things too, yes?

You don't play useless cards in your deck just so you can discard them, do you? That's a non-argument.

Dunno about First Ticket (or whatever it gets called) yet. Maybe for donk decks,

You know, I was wondering what Musharna was doing in the Gothitelle/Accelgor/Mew EX deck, but now that we've learned of Ether, it makes quite a bit of sense.

If you use prism energy then you'd have to discard the prism too when you attack.

With prism you only need one prism and 2 lighting to do 180, since prism is lighting and fire. If I were to use it I would be expecting a return KO immediately so I don't think it matters much.

Turns out prism might not be discarded. The wording made it seem like basic energy were only discarded. Might have been a mistranslation however.
