Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

The UnderDog That No One Saw Coming - GENESES

I'm the older brother of Geneses.

I'm just going input some facts.
I won't justify his actions, I'll let him do that himself.
All the people in the T16 are relatively young, <18 years old. Save for a few people.

Everyone has experiences that collect and become underlying grudges and frustration in their teen years. (You'll know when you're as old as me) You realize that people make mistakes that could've been corrected in a more civilized manner or approached differently.

I appreciate the effort that some people offered to alternatively resolve the matter.
There's no (easy) way to go 180 on the situation, but I'll talk to my brother to calm down, but I can only do as much as I can. When is the last time you'd listen to your older sibling, if you have one.

What I suggest is that we continue to have a fun experience of things, after all, we come to play Pokemon in this community to have fun to gain the the satisfaction (instead of having an unhealthy obsessive expectation) of winning.

My brother did sport good sportsmanship as much as he could during the actual tournament. I guess after winning in a surreal manner, he got over his head as he gained some foundation that wasn't there and exploited it.

I bet if you're a teenager or have been, or will be. There are moments where you think you're on top of the world.

Before he gains the forgiveness of others, I think he needs to regain his "face" and get the forgiveness of the offending party.

agreed. I would have made a post earlier, but Nats took a lot outta me and I just got back today. I mean some of the things that was said and discussed before Nats even occurred was a little out of line for me, but I didn't say anything. To predict the outcome of who the winner would be is one thing, naming them over and over through 9 straight pages is another, and the put downs to others who stood up for believing that there could be possibly another winner is on top another thing. Bid and Geneses proved themselves at Nats that they can compete with the best and win. I guess coming back to see negative comments could cause some uncontrolled anger and thats wrong on his part, but sometimes being the underdog, then proving yourself to the 69 masters that were there (yes there was an exact 69 of us -.-;;;) that there is potentially somebody else that can win, comin home and stil read negative posts about how "lucky" they must of been to win it is very discouraging.

So I guess all in all, just let it go. Nats is over, World's is coming up. Geneses earned 1st, and maybe he's still a lil hyped up right now combined with a lil anger, some of the things he said could be excused, but at the same time understood that some of the things said about him and his deck could build up such an anger. He's had to earn the respect of most... I think it's about time he's gotten some.

Matt

P.S. no comment on the infercatty.... heh.

hahaha, are you suggesting of copying it. just kidding. a magician doesn't reveal his tricks.
the basics are on the net though

not sugesstion that I would copy it. Its that he seems like he wants every to copy it as he sayin to cal it this and stuff

Well, being one of the head judges, I had a chance to watch a lot of the top cut matches. Not all of course. However I got to watch all the finals. I have to admit, Geneses and Bidier had an awesome match. It was some of the best playing I've seen. No offense to any of the other players of course, but I was very impressed with the level of playing - especially from some of the "rookies." A lot of the ones who did well in Nat's are relatively knew to the game. Perhaps it's these ones who aren't quite so hide-bound that will make a difference. In any case I hope you all do well when it's time for World's. By the way, bring me back something will ya?

you should post the deck...so I may netdeck it!!!!!LOL, joking, but you really should post your list...I have used Golem for a while and I thought of 6 different ways to run the deck, Exploud was one of them but I couldn't get it to work, Eeveelutions actually worked for while but still, not up to par. Congrats on winning Nats.....GL to you in worlds!!!!

you're a ****ing dick. glad to hear you donked your nats. hope you're proud.

as for destiny being "bad" and its OBVIOUS inability to win (OOPS), you're SOOO right... what has destiny ever won? that deck is TERRIBLE. OBVIOUSLY much worse than golem/exploud.

p.s.
90% of players "invented" infernape/delcatty. it's one of the most obvious and effective combos possible.

yeah I agree, it is one of the most common combos out there sort of like metanite. You may be a good player in all but you by no means invented the deck, No one invented the deck, Scans invented the deck!!!!

pokekid has been leaving negative post EVERYWHERE and doesn't stop, slandering all and everyone that he thinks is "lower than him"

Its quite obvious he was right in your case, Funny how you are the one now spouting off at the mouth.

I will be glad to show you the HOOK UP at worlds buddy., if I read right, you didnt even play a destiny.

You definatly have put a target on your back with these kinds of comments. Wheres my hunting gear!!!

More to come,
JImmy

you guys are ABSOLUELY right i didn't invent Infercatty, it is an obvious combo, but i did popularized it here in eastern Canada when no one even heard of the deck.

Ehhh I hope you're at least not talking about Kant-He played Infenrape because he thought it'd be the best bet for the tourney, and not because it was "popularized" in Eastern Canada.

You remind me a lot of myself...or Rokman...or 100% of people at that age. Older brother did a great job of defending you in an extended way, so at least acknowledge the favor by not digging your own grave (socially)! Be a Gordon Coates-caliber champion.

True that!

Sorry guy, if the people don't like you, your win won't be worth anything (See Jeremy M.). Good job, I say.

Its a running joke within our circle. It was just an excuse to spread the phrase "awesome sauce" around. It derives from "weak sauce", though the exact source of that phrase is unknown us. It would be nice if someone can enlighten me.

Top 8
second round
Geoffrey Carr - FlyGod (Flygon Eeveelution)
(sorry if i spelt your name wrong)

No, that's right :)

Anyways, seeing as how I just got back to Calgary and am only seeing the aftermath, I'll just say this - irregardless of what happened here, during the actual tournament itself, Geneses was as sportsmanlike as you could hope a person could be. He was polite during all the games that I played against him (three of my four losses on the day were to him :frown:), and, unlike a fair number of people that were playing, I did not once hear any obscenties or the like.

Props to you dude, you played an excellent tourney and did deserve it.

But man, does Stantler make me sad.

Well put. I would have liked to face you as well Geoff to see how our Flygons would match up, but like you said, he's a good sport and it's unfortunate that people here have to "target" him. It's a game, get over it. It's meant to be fun and over the course of these tournamnets and competitions it seems people have lost sight of that.

The Nats are over. No matter how much you say he lucked his way to first, he did it with his new deck idea and the knowledge of the game. He fought through some of the nation's best players and some of you still feel he lucked out? It's funny how people who played against him accepted their losses like true sports and moved on while people who didn't even see the deck in action could comment on how "pathetic" or "random" his deck was and must have lucked out to win it just because they never heard of it before.

Heh.. stantler makes me sad too .. no windstorm.. no transciever... no mentor.. no delta draw =( haha.. hope to see you at worlds =)
