Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

UK City Championship Dates 2006/2007 season

For what it's worth I tried phoning the Holiday Inn directly, but the guy who organises functions isn't there at weekends. Their number is 0870 400 9042.

we have just had a PK pre-release in manchester 03/02 and we have our CC's on the 10/02 are we able to use Power Keepers cards in the CC?

No, unfortunately not. The packs aren't officially released until Feb 14th, so you can use them in the CC's dated 17 Feb and after.

I have never met a single person in real life who plays the card game!!! So frustrating.

I searched the shopping mall for cards this morning. All they had was the World Championship Decks. So I bought the Eevee Evolutions and B-L-S ones. I love them so far. But I want to play someone real.

Rather than myself.

I've sent an e-mail to the London League guy and joined here, but a year of searching has got me nowhere. I once got my brother to play, but he hates the decks I build, and his are amazingly weak. (12 basic, 4 evolution, 30 energy, 14 crappy trainers for example.) He couldn't even use a deck that was a mix of certain ex cards built around Jungle Wigglytuff's do the Wave. not even with Poké Fan Club and Lanette's Net Search to help! He insisted on using Chansey's Double Edge, then 4 potions (which he added) then Double Edge again. Useless boy.

If I do go to a tournament I'll be awful because of no experience, but I'd love it. So please, please, rather than giving me links like I've previously had, does anyone at all know of any tournaments DEFINATELY happening in London soon?

err the ones listed here are almost certainly definately positively going to happen.

If you want some fun then go to a pre-release... there are several running in the UK at the moment. Take your deck with you and I'm certain that someone will give you a game and probably some advice on fixing it if you ask.

By The Way give us a clue as to where you live. Which bit of london will help. London is a big place.

Emeralda, I'm just wondering if you know about the official site:
op.pokemon-tcg.com

Its half USA, and half Internation (the rest of the world). Make sure you're in the right bit, and you should be able to find a list of the UK Prereleases. The site also explains how they work. You can better prepare yourself by signing up for a POP ID online - you'll need this to attend any official event and it will save you having to fill in the form once you're there.

If UK tournaments look a bit confusing from the posts on these forums, that's because people are having trouble with City Championships. You won't find these listed properly on the official site at the moment. This shouldn't affect other tournaments, or prereleases though.

Hope you figure it out!
MG

I live in West London, but I don't really fancy giving out my location closer than that on the net.

I have now signed up for a POP ID... And I have found one in Hackney next Saturday.

Thank you!

It does make me wonder though - why have people on other forums not just told me that before! Well, you guys are great.

No problem, hope it goes well for you!

Its often all about where you ask. I, like many others using pokegym, am an organiser. We have a vested interest in pointing people in the right direction ;)

Emeralda - I see that's an event by John Hawkins. He does offer a contact number elsewhere on pokegym, which is 07989 979991. For some reason that event isn't listed on our Prerelease thread, so it woudn't hurt to send a text to double-check.

Yes, this issue is being worked on, and you should see the events added to players stats shortly.

Thank you,

I just love the use of the word shortly. Honestly, Dawn Stone is the only one who can save us now....

See if you can play in one of the theme deck challenges too it's a good way to get a working deck and boosters cheap :D

Good luck and welcome to the family of uk pokemon players

I have texted Jack Hawkins about next Saturday. - Heh, as I posted I got a reply - one word, impersonal - "yes". Thanks Jack, if you may happen to read this.

Thanks for all the help again.

Ooh, theme deck challenge sounds fun. How does it work?

According to the Holiday inn the High Wycombe CC will be on Sunday. However they were ever so unclear and evasive, so I'ld still seek confirmation from TPFG (good luck lol). I'll see if I can make it.

LOL John tends to stay away from the boards and given the chaos in London today with traffic I guess he may have been busy ??

Any how Theme Deck Challenge is a Theme Deck and 4 Boosters and have fun :D - It's not a sanctionable format so how John/Jack will run it is down to him I guess..

Another reply after I asked when specifically it'ld be up.

There are some details remaining to be wrapped up. I do not know for certain when this will be entirely resolved. I do expect this to be resolved before the time that State/Province/Territory events begin

And I got an answer phone message today from tpfg confirming that this weekends High Wycombe City Championships will be on Sunday NOT Saturday. Anyone here going?

I've just got off the phone from TPFG, who say that the Dragon Frontiers have now arrived and been shipped - TO's should have an e-mail today to confirm. The packs should arrive tomorrow...

Don't shoot me if I'm wrong, but it was Carl I spoke to, so I'm waiting for the packs to arrive.

Good luck to the other TO's out there, I hope everyone gets what they are expecting.

I called carl to to find out about the missing pre-release boosters. I was told that they were sent last Tuesday and that I should have them today....

And then it snowed :(

Yeh, I know exactly what you mean. Me too. I gave my deck minus the holon engine to my brother and he is very weak with it. I'd say netdeck from one of the archetypes and get good at using it. I made Top 8 at the Nationals doing that. Good luck.

Is the Manchester CC still on with all the snow? Hope to see anyone there.

Crewe City Championships

Date: Saturday 10th February 2007

Venue:
Edleston Road Social Club
137 Edleston Road
Crewe
Cheshire
CW2 7HP

Time : 11am

This has appeared very late on the OP site.
I have not confirmed this with Tom, the organiser.
As the reigning Crewe City Champion, I find it very disappointing that this is being held on the same day as the Manchester CC, just 20miles away.
My loyalty has to be with Manchester, as that is where I first started playing Pokemon.
