Last year I was the only man in Britain with TWO invites to nats- both Andy Stone and my good pal Andrew Stone got invited!
I will try to repeat this feat once more.....

Ha, you're wrong. My good friend, Andrew Ritchie got two invites. Another one as Andrew Richie.

Booyah. Guess which one dropped after Round 1. :D

Last year on the CC in which I qualified I accidently told them my bro POP ID and it turned out he got the invite but we sorted it out in the nats

LOL! That is hilarious. You've got four chances to give them the right ID this year :thumb:

Given that TPFG even when they had extra help struggled to get the invites correct, and to be fair its not easy to do unless you get tough with organisers not reporting, I can't see why we struggle with having invite only Nationals. The most compelling reason for opening it up is that just by attending one of the smaller STPs you are just about guaranteed a place at UK Nationals.

If they want a closed nationals then just make it that you have actually played in a premiere event.

If the goal is to save money, then use the approach that the USA does and award travel allowances to the tournament winners. The travel allowance would be the free entrance to woburn so no money involved

We'll be nabbing a MiniBus from the Local Scouts if at all possible or Car pooling up to woburn.

So Gamers Guild players, wannabes and hanger on let us know if you want a lift from the Oast House.. time of departure has yet to be decided but theaa.com says 1hr 48 mins travel time so expect to leave around 7am as I doubt we'll want to miss registration and all the hanging arond waiting and unplugging of laptops (nigel :p) that will ensue.

I expect we'll start around lunch again :D

If anyone can fill in some of the blanks please let us know.

Scott Southern - 24/02/2007 - Hackney CC - (Qualifies as winner was Justin Kempley )

Scott didn't qualify in Hackney, he qualified and won in the "Islington CC". The qualifier from Hackney was someone in t4, but deffinatly not Scott.

Really looking forward to Nats but I might have trouble getting there (I don't drive). Would staying somewhere nearby the night before be a good idea? Any ideas as to how much it'd cost?

Also, just noticed there's only 3 qualified players listed from last years Nationals in Masters. Someone's missing but I don't know who it is as I wasn't there. I'm sure someone must know.

PMed you about it, Dom.

RE: the accomodation thing. The difficulty with staying in a youth hostel or something nearby the night before/of is travelling to/from the safari park from there. IMO you'd need a taxi or something like that as I have no idea about buses or other transportation there. However you can get really cheap accomodation around about 20 minutes away. Just google it and make sure you book in advance, just in case.
