Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

Werewolf xvi the rise of team plasma: Town wins

Wow that game took it out of me.

Playing scum in this meta twice in a row is not an easy feat.

Never-the-less it was another amazing game AAM, thanks very much for hosting :)

Looking forward to playing again :D

I'd link to the graveyard right now, but we uh... kinda said some things in not so nice ways about people. I'll see what the others think.

Maybe you could just post some of the bets and predictions instead of posting the link so that nobody is upset,

Another thought.

I'm really glad you came back to the game PCoPB. I was extremely disheartened when you posted saying you were going to take a step back.

You came back with renewed vigor and wanted to play to the best of your abilities. And I'm happy you didn't give up.

GG guys. Thanks to AAM.

AT, you seemed to play on the town's side strongly, even when the town was winning. Wouldn't it have been better for you to keep the wolves in the game longer? What were your thoughts there? I'm genuinely interested because you were in a pretty interesting position.

Ahh, what a game...

I'll be the first to admit-We never really had much of a chance, and my play didn't help matters any.

So, about that Gambit of mine...I sorta realized in the middle of Day 10 that I had no real choice but to hope my WC was 5/6:1 and do what I could to buy myself time. Well, you all saw what I came up with; I knew it had holes from the start. There was no way to create a flawless gambit, and unfortunately, you all picked up on things I'd forgotten about (Brightpowder for one), at which point I fell completely into a spiral of doom and well, that's that.

PCPB, I thank you for revealing yourself on Day 1, as it was very helpful . I shouldn't have let you live as long as you did.

Anyway. The "why" behind the night kills:

Now, I can only really speak to the kills after SS7 died, since that's when I started making the final call.

Night 2: sdrawkcab-
Well, simply, he is one of the better players, and he was playing quite well.

Night 3: Redados1/Napoleon
Well, redados1 was becoming Waynegg, and I wouldn't let that happen. It was a bonus that Redados1's role was worth getting rid of. Napoleon on the other hand was a more strategical play. I opted to have TheKing redirect, but unfortunately, he only has a 2/3 chance of working. (AAM, just curious, was the 1/3 the reason we failed?) We eliminated Napoleon (Who, by the way, even though it goes against the typical laws of WIFOM, needed to die. He had pinned almost all of us right down!!) but unfortunately lost desufnoc.

Night 4: Jellyfisher
Well, it was a general consensus among the wolves that he would be the next to fall, simply because we felt we had removed the biggest threats to our existence and would start systematically taking out the more logical players. (Except for AT, but I couldn't decide whether to call his bluff or not)

Night 5: Uggggg....Silly Cryogonal
My rage when this happened...:frown: I had already picked out the target and was just waiting as a formality...

Night 6: DarthPika
He was Omega. Of course he had to die!!! Bonus that PF5's Vanilluxe took out Benzo.

Night 7: Akane
As an aside...I was so lucky that you all never looked back at her posts against me, because if you had, I would've been dead in a heartbeat. Same goes for Napoleon. You priesting me was actually quite nice, especially since all it meant was that I wouldn't be able to give the town more information then they needed.

Night 8: Dragonclyne725
That stupid bat you possessed was going to make my life hard if AAM mentioned the Wolf Kill in my PM. Since I knew you would target me, you had to die. Of note, Bluenation would've probably died if I wasn't obligated to remove DC725. Ironically, there was no mention of the kill in my PM that night, so if I had in fact killed Bluenation, I may have been able to not had to Gambit on Day 10, and would therefore maybe have had the chance to kill Pikamaster, which would've led to there being no more seers. If there's anything I can blame for our loss, this is it. Me opening my mouth about Woobat+Lux Ball was costly as well.

Night 9: Ultimareda
You were going to target me? You had to die. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to keep up with onslaught on info roles in the game, and therefore suffered a very untimely death because I had to gambit.

So that's the method behind that madness. Ideally, JP and Akane would've both died had PF5 lived one more night.

In general, the only dislike I had was the amount of information roles. It was beyond great to have a built in Role Reveal, because once mass claim started, it was what led to the death of my last two comrades.

All in all, great game, and I'm happy to answer any questions you all had about what the wolves did.

To be honest I targeted AbsolTrainer that night, even though I said I wouldn't JUST because of this reason. I thought with all my mind AT was the last wolf. I was right that he was anti-town, just not a wolf.

As for the game comments, I have decided that my "pushing the envelope" is over. I will continue to comment about certain aspects of the game on any future games I may play, but asking the game-mod for certain comments will be over. I apologize for any game damage it caused.

I want to thank AAM for hosting the game and coming up with the story, flavor in the roles, and everything else.

Game balance: I didn't care for the large amount of power roles. It seemed like everybody was either a priest or a seer. Sure, all the players like having something to do during the night phase, but having such high power is not the direction I would like. When there are so many power roles, it shows why the wolves have yet to win.

If there were more hidden roles that they must discover, but still have access to (Role: PM me the name of a player and something may/may not happen to them) I think it would have made up for the power roles that are used. This (and other features) is why I really liked AT's Werewolf game "Pokemon Wars". You could even have this built into vanilla roles to make people think that they are doing more than they actually are.

Game moderation: Even with the co-mod, I saw that there was a very big lack of vote updates. If there is a role that can make -x votes to lynch, the mod needs to have a much larger presence in the game. I like the very nice flavor of the updates, but they did lean towards specific roles. This led to a whole lot of early role reveals and people picking it apart. Again, I this could have been avoided if the roles were hidden from the players.

And in the future, if someone is going the post/bump/post/bump etc. game - give a public warning. Show that this behavior is not acceptable. It took a WHOLE lot away from the game. It was the reason why I became more or less inactive and started skimming. At first I tried blaming it on moderation duties/life but to be honest with everybody, it was the constant bumping. There were times when I thought that a public warning was warranted/needed, but it didn't happen.

I may post more on this later, but this is the majority of my thoughts on the game. Again thanks AAM for hosting the game.

Well, that was fun! But I have to say I was rather irritated at the town for not pulling their act together. And I was very irritated that no matter what I said all I could do was dig my grave deeper.
Other then that, I enjoyed myself.

So I wasn't among the more logical players?

I know, but you never did get around to killing me. Prohawk and I pushed so hard for your lynch... Still, you did pretty well up until you self-destructed.

Ok so I'll start by apologizing for my HORRIBLE fake imped.

I'M SORRY!!!!!!!!!

I will say I've been a J/K on MS and now a priest here. Yuck, I hate playing this role. To start I felt it necessary NOT to lurk with my PR, however, non-lurkers have a habbit of ending up dead early. So I thought about how I could stay alive yet try to help the town, by sticking around to use my role. So enter the imped. Did I mention this was a horrible idea. I should have stopped day 1 when I was onto KP for his last minute antics. I couldn't really articulate why I felt it was suspicious.

The work I did at the end of day 2 was actually really fun. However, SS7s flip made me quesation my reads and I knew I would be under attck hard core starting day 3. At this point I had to be totally committed to the imped. It was at this point I knew I was totally hosed and it really through my game off and it just distracted the town. There were times when I could get my point across in 15 words which was fun but those post took way to long to write (really).

AAM, some constructive critism for you:
PACE: I rally liked the pace you were looking for, however, it was a bit too fast in my opinion. There were 2 real problems. With only about a week to lynch, most people I think figured out it was in there best interedt to clainm under the slightest pressure. By the time we got a wagon going it was too late for the lynchee for a new wagon to for so they could talk there way out. Additionally, the vote counts were way to slow. Once a day would have been great, with this pacing so the players knew exactly where we stood.

Co-Mods (this goes back to pacing)
Great idea. However, when AAM wasn't around Cardz wasn't either. We actually had to prod you guys for vote counts and even then they were few and far between. Again with a slightly slower pace this might have been less of a problem.

More thoughts to come,

Again I'm will say I'm sorry for the decision I made for my fake imped. It won't happen again.

PS, I did this on my phone so I didn't check this post

Im not going to lie. I was pretty sad when I died. WW was my only enjoyment on my deployment lol. This was my first game on the gym and learned alot. ( more so watching after I had died).

Still sorry that play took you out. 1. it was 2/3, and 2. I had no idea it would take you of all people out. I look forward to playing with you again :thumb:.

@desufnoc: I feel that you should've survived longer than I did. If you would've survived that play, we could've had a better chance of winning. I feel your pain man.

I look forward to seeing you all in future games. :thumb:
